Dal Rashaan School is a place to come and learn some skills. It is a pay to learn school, but you will learn worthwhile skills here.

Rates Per Lesson:

Beginner Courses: $100 and 100 words
Intermediate Courses: $150 and 200 words
Advanced Courses: $200 and 300 words

We reserve the right to change our prices and policies at any time.

Beginner Courses:
Quote:
Fire:

Name: Spark
Level: Beginner
Element: Fire
Instructions: As sure as a spark becomes a flame, this is precisely the point of this ability. It is the cornerstone of all fire based abilities. If you cannot do spark, you really cannot control your fire abilities. How you use this is up to you, ultimately.

Name: Flash
Level: Beginner
Element: Fire
Instructions: Flash requires Spark to learn. Cup your hand and focus the same effort you use to cause spark but with more effort. Flash can be used to cause a visual distraction or even inflict a burn at close quarters. If you can land a blow with flash, it will reduce their defense by 10%. Costs 10% END.

Quote:
Wind

Name: Breeze
Level: Beginner
Element: Wind
Instructions: A breeze is a stirring of winds. Knowing this is vital to your wind based abilities. Air will stir, but lightly. How you use this is up to you in the end.

Quote:
Earth

Name: Pebble Shift
Level: Beginner
Element: Earth
Instructions: Controlling the movements of pebbles may not seem that impressive, but it is the foundation of earth abilities. You can come up with a use for something like this, we're sure.

Name: Stone Shift
Level: Beginner [Must know Pebble Shift]
Element: Earth
Instructions: While Pebble Shift allows you to levitate pebbles and use them as you see fit, this is stronger and allows you to launch stones offensively. The power of attack is equal to your mana, and the speed is matched by your natural speed if you are standing still - add 10% increase if you are moving at your max speed.

Name: Quake
Level: Beginner [Must know Stone Shift]
Element: Earth
Instructions: This ability allows you to cause earthquakes in your immediate area to the entire topic, depending on level. This ability can be leveled up to 10, but it must be done in 10 separate sessions. Levels 1-5 cover only a 40 foot radius around you; Levels 6-10 will cover the entire topic. As long as you have more than 15 mana, you can be immune to your own attacks. If your opponent has an equally matched level of Quake, then you, too, are at the mercy of their attacks and fall prey to the risks. At this point it will be Mana vs Mana, AGL vs AGL, and tactics vs tactics. Level 1 = The ground shakes mildly, those with less than 5 AGL will find themselves loosing their balance; Level 2 = The ground shakes noticeably, those with less than 10 AGL will loose their balance and those with less than 5 will find themselves loosing their footing; Level 3 = The ground shakes strongly and objects will fall off of anything that they aren't nailed or glued to, any with less than 10 AGL will find it hard to stand; Level 4 = Along with very strong earth quakes, the ground will begin to crack and move, Any with less than 15 AGL will be unable to stand; Level 5 = Powerful Earthquakes that cause the ground to rise and drop at random, Anybody with less than 20 AGL will surely be struck by the force of the stones - a hard 15% cut to their defense. Level 6 = The Powerful earthquakes continue and the very stones will aim themselves at your target. Level 7 = Your mastery of this ability has gotten so good that you are able to now target up to three others with your earth shifting abilities. Level 8 = You can actually avoid most collateral damage, as long as your opponent is not within 5 feet of somebody else. Level 9 = Your ability to target them is so improved that as long as your target is still doing ground based attacks, you can attack them more precisely than before without hurting somebody else, even if they are pretty much touching somebody else [Except if they are actually carrying or holding them]. Level 10 = You can affect even those who fly or swim, the earthquake is so strong. As long as they are within a range equal to your hit points in yards, you can reach them with this earth attack.

Quote:
Water

Name: Squirt
Level: Beginner
Element: Water
Instructions: Spitting water from your mouth at whatever you please. It is the weakest of water moves, but it is foundational. Even infants can master this. Imagine what you can do with it once you are strong.

Quote:
Mana

Name: Energize
Level: Beginner
Element: Mana
Instructions: This is about as basic as Mana abilities can get. It helps you to restore your mana, but only if you don't use other mana abilities. Using other elements is ok. This is passive and will restore your mana by 10% every post you use it.

Name: Quick Heal
Level: Beginner
Element: Mana
Instructions: Quick heal is a light first aid technique for beginners. It will help heal the following: minor wounds [full heal], mild wounds [healed to minor], and overrides Daze if your mana is higher than their Endurance. Costs 10% END.

Name: Daze
Level: Beginner
Element: Mana
Instructions: Focus your mana into your hand and push your palm out towards your target. As long as your attack is quicker than their Speed and Agility, it will cause them to be dazed for three turns. This is expressed by a 10% drop in Agility. Costs 10% MANA.

Name: Phase Shift
Level: Beginner
Element: Mana
Instructions: Channel your mana into one of your other elements. It will increase that element by 10% and cost your mana 10%.

Quote:
Other

Name: Fighting Level 1
Level: Beginner
Element: N/A
Instructions: Non-elemental combat skills are just as essential to being able to protect yourself in this wild world. Every level after this requires 500 skill points to level up. Skill Points come from each word used to train up your skills.

Name: Level Up
Level: Any
Element: N/A
Instructions: Learning and growing are a part of life, so it shouldn't be surprising that you will also become stronger by doing so. 500 words per stat point gained. If trained at Dal Rashaan, you can cut the word requirement down by half by paying for lessons.

Name: Stealth Mode Level 1
Level: Beginner
Element: N/A
Instructions: Camouflage, stealthy moves, and using one's environment are all very important. Using this when trolling dungeons or other environments where monsters and enemies dwell will help you get the drop on low level monsters resulting in a 10% bonus to any money reward.

Duncan felt bad for leaving the little bearskin alone, but he had a goal and bringing the kid along all the time would put him in danger. So now the Juren was alone in the imperial lands looking at the school that he heard could teach him the basics of using mana. It is his first step to becoming a great and powerful wizard. He smirked picturing himself all powerful before heading inside. He had to pay to get into one of the teachers lectures, but luckily he had been saving up. There were plenty of beginner classes he could sign up for, but he did not need to wear himself right away by trying to take them all this time around. Nope, he decided to start off with learning about earth magic. It was not the most popular of choices, but Duncan loved the idea of manipulating the world around him. In the class the teacher did not really say much and kind of sounded like a hippy. The book he was handed actually made more sense than that wack job who said you just got to feel the earth, be one with it man. The book explained that you must merge your inner mana with that of the world around you. After the teacher finished talking, Duncan was shown to a rock garden to try it out.
Duncan relaxed his mind and body, finding his center and the energy linking it to the rest of him. He let that linking feeling spread out from his feet into the ground. A few moments of concentrating and the pebbled slowly moved in a spiral around him. I’m doing it… this is so stellar. I am on my way to greatness.

Duncan came back to the Dal Rashaan School again. This time he had a specific type of magic he wanted to learn in mind. It really was something he should have learned first, but he wanted to do something that was way cooler. This visit was to learn how to restore mana that had been used up in other magic spells and whatnot's. He paid to get into the lecture on the basics on mana magic. The teacher was nothing like the other one that taught earth magic. This one was strict and right to the point. Mana as a magic itself was a lot harder to comprehend then it as a source of magic power. By the time the class was over though, the Juren was positive he got it... though since he did not need to restore his mana at the moment he could not really practice the end result yet.

The next day when Duncan came back, he had been planning on learning the basic water magic, squirt. That plan changed though when he saw a new class was now available. "Stone shift? Prerequisite pebble shift. Oh stellar." Now was the moment he thought, should I learn slowly all the basics, or should I focus on one branch of the magic tree. The grand earth style wizard sound cool and he could always learn the others later when he was a grand master of the magic arts.
Duncan made up his mind. He signed up and paid for the Stone Shift class. They did not have to sit in a classroom, going right out to the stone garden. The hippy teacher kept mentioning how violence was not always the answer, but knowing how to fight back was also necessary. Targets had been set up for them to aim at. The Juren started off with levitating the pebbles as a quick exercise. Then he started to focus on the stones. It was a lot more difficult to make the stone that weighs a stone to move then the pebbles. Duncan just let himself stay relaxed and connected with the energies of the ground beneath his feet. It took about twenty seconds before he was comfortable enough to give it a shot.
Duncan sent the stone flying at the target without ever touching it. It did not hit hard enough for his tastes though. He gave sent another stone at the target, faster this time. The third stone he commanded nailed the target hard enough to knock it over. "...nice." Duncan had a big smirk.

Little Inori Had found his way to this school, and despite the teacher’s disbelief and discouraging staring, Inori still paid for a lesson in pebble shift. He sat there listening to the teacher quietly. It was easy stuff for him to listen to, and even easier to understand. This was the kind of stuff he could get used to. He listened with complete attention through out the lecture and when it came time, He bravely followed to the pebble garden. He concentrated for the longest while and for the longest while nothing happened at all. Then the pebbly nearest him began to move it began to spin in place and then began to roll in circles around him. He grinned widely at this because it was a useful ability, and he knew he could have so much fun with it. He watched as the pebble moved in circles around him and he willed it to move faster. It did. He was grinning widely. He wondered if Duncan would be impressed next time he saw him. He certain hoped so. He wanted to see his big brother smile. And he was going to make sure he got the chance. He was going to become strong.

Duncan came back the next day again, but was looking at his coin pouch. With the classes he already paid for and plus the money he went in the bank, he only had enough to pay for one more class. Later he would have to go earn a bit more to keep up with his education. For now though he signed up for yet another earth based magic class. Quake sounded even more awesome then stone shift had, and that was indeed awesome.
The juren bearkin still did not care for the hippy teacher. This time saying using quack could damage the environment if used too much or too powerful. That did not sound like a bad thing to Duncan though. A spell with the potential to do great damage to everything around? Stellar!
This spell has several levels, but since the class was about the first level, it was still okay to practice outside in the large rock garden with out causing damage to the school. Accidents can still happen so the teacher to them he can heal as well just in case of a problem.
Duncan watched as the teacher did an example for the class. He felt the earth give a bit of a shiver. A few of the others students lost their balance, but the Juren was alright. He stepped into the center of the garden to be the first one to give it a try as well. His mind calmed and energy flowed to and from his legs and ground, joining as one. He shifted a few pebbles away and then the rocks. Then Duncan focused on the much, much larger area below him. A forty foot radius around him gave a shiver just like had done for the teacher a moment ago. Ha, that was not so hard. I cannot wait to get a few more coins and learn more about this technique.

Zwist had been off tending to his noble duties around Blossom Village with his kindred Wyndrakes. The knight in training. He had been working on his courtly mannerisms and proper behavior. While though in public he never removes his armor or helmet, he continued to work to be an honorable soul to all he met as he traveled to the academy were he was informed that they could train him to fight. He had a sword, and while he needed something better, the old blade would do the job in practice until he could afford to have a proper blade forged to suit his needs.

As he entered the academy, he deposited his money for the lesson in Fighting. He was there to learn the skills proper of a Warrior. Soon to be one of renown from his home in Wyndrake Forest of Dromea, or at least noticed by those he encountered for his skill with a blade, this was the aspiration that drove him to learn from the masters of the academy. The currency required for the lessons was kind of pricey, but as they taught Wyndrakes from a young age, "You cannot put a price on quality knowledge." It was somewhat of a code that was followed and a proverb that Zwist kept close to his heart. The first day of training was difficult, and it started with a basic break down of stance and proper grip of the blade. As his instructor informed him, "You cannot hope to master a blade with a sloppy grip. Feeble hands hold no weight in the world." This had become another proverb he would take with him as he practiced. Though he never actually got to make a move when it came to training just yet. His education began with push-ups, and sit-ups while wearing his armor for added weight and difficulty. He was a Wyndrake and was therefore pushed harder by the very nature of testing his virtue by the young drake's own request. Sweat and determination were the only two things that Zwist allowed himself to feel in that moment as he worked on his body, preparing himself for the coming training with the sword and fist that he would undergo.

He continued to work through the coming day, pushing his body to the limit as he worked on push-ups, one after another. Up and down, his body went with each motion of his arms, each flex of his muscles pushing the drake's frame off the ground and then back toward it. Gravity was his adversary in this form of physical exercise, but as he came to learn fighting gravity and eventually using the force of nature as a power to make his body and reflexes quicker than those around him was going to be his key to mastering the sword. Not to mention the muscle strength he was building would only make his blade lighter and easier to wield when it came to placing the blows in the right spots and openings his targets and future enemies would present.

The three day work in training his body finally came to an end and he was finally ready to begin practicing with the weapon. He had the stance and he had learned that he would need to continually train his strength to bring the power of his weapon to bare against those who would stand against justice and righteousness, now it was time to work on his form and placement, which was simply beginners level training and even then, everything had seemed so advanced. It was the quality of the instructors he had here at the Dal Rashaan School that only made this process easier for him to cope with. "I sure hope I don't let my elders back home down.", Zwist said to himself as he cleared his mind of all self-doubt and filled himself with the resolve of a warrior. As he approached the practice field, he was faced with his first adversary, a wooden training dummy. "Begin, your training will end when you can cleave through the dummy." The instructor informed Zwist. The young Wyndrake bowed at the waist and responded, "Yes, Master." His response wasn't long winded and neither was he as he drew his weapon and charged headlong at the dummy. His slashes had power, and his stance was on point, but he needed more. He worked and slashed and hacked and chopped until finally he saw an intentional defect meant to represent an opening in the dummy's defense and he took for it, bringing a heavy overhand slash at the defect, which was a carefully hidden split in the head which had been smoothed over. He then put all his power behind the strike, cracking it, before lifting the sword again and bringing it down with a violent 'thud', wedging it into the slice and splitting the dummy down the mid-section. Beginner's work, but work none the less.

After he wrapped up his lesson, Zwyst then did the honors of his training and completed it by sweeping up the debri and cleaning the training area he had used. Sure, he had paid for the lessons, though his goal was to be a shining example of integrity and nobility, and that meant by thanking his instructors with more than just words. He was a man of action, and his actions as he cleaned were noticed by the School instructors which got him bows of heads in acknowledgement of his effort. There was pride in becoming a swordsman, but there was also honor in gracefully doing the work of 'grunts'.

Upon finishing cleaning up the yard of his mess, Zwist then returned to his temporary living arrangements at the school, his money had to be going to something else besides just paying teachers, as while their instructions were excellent, they were not -that- excellent. This was almost two-hundred gold coins out of his current budget, though it was two-hundred well spent on skills that would guide him into the future of a shining bright swordsman and eventually a White Blade. That was his goal in the end, to be a White Blade from his region and to be one of the strongest fighters that Dromea had to offer. The strength of the swordsman lay not in just his hands, but his heart and soul. With the virtues, training, and determination he had awakened at the school, the young Wyndrake was ready to set off to the Holiday party that had been announced. It was of course to celebrate the oncoming harvest and it was not a festival he was going to miss with a light conscience.

So many things had happened since Duncan Ye was last at the school, such as becoming a noble. It did not change who he is inside, and his goals for the future are no different either, just more has been added to them. For now he was back to Dal Rashaan in order to learn all he can in the art of earth manipulation.
The Juren Bearkin male already had the basics for the Quake move down, but it needed to refrain greatly. At the front desk, Duncan gave a smile to the secretary and paid to be let in to the learning facility. Out in the schools rock garden, Duncan was left mostly to his own devises with an instructor over looking the practice since he already knew the basics anyways. He had a nice large empty area around him so no one else would accidently get hurt.
He took in and then let out a slow deep breath, feeling the earth’s energy beneath his bare feet. Duncan always felt at peace playing in the dirt when he was a little cub, and now all grown up, was no different. The ‘young’ man meld his power with the ground under him. In forty feet out in all directions around him in a circle started to shake slightly. Okay, this is level 1, now to kick it up a notch. The Juren Bearkin focused even more of his energy into the stone garden he stood in. The instructor gave him a nod of approval. Duncan stopped the process, took a little breather, and then tried it again. He did this several times until the session he paid for was up. Honestly he thinks the instructor let him go even longer then he should have actually. Oh well, that was just better practice time for him for no extra charge. He needed all the practice he could get if he was going to be the world’s greatest wizard.

Duncan Ye made it back to Dal Rashaan School from Blueberry Hill Treasury and Investments with still some time to spare before the time an instructor would be able to be with him again for training. He felt that at this point he could finish learning the different levels of quake on his own, but a little voice in the back of his head told him it was not the wisest idea. If some thing went wrong while practicing, some one could get hurt in a major way, even killed. It was more likely that property damages would occur, but there was that chance.
For now the Juren Bearkin looked around the halls for a little bit, after paying for the up coming session with a professor. All the places in this city are so different from back home in the bamboo forest mountain. After a few minutes had past, Duncan went out side to meet with the instructor.
Once ready to begin Duncan focused his energy into the ground beneath his bare feet. Doing this was getting easier every lesson. Now though he could feel an energy trying to enter him as well. It felt nice kind of like a mother’s gentle smile. The ground started to shake around him. This time he was not going for the gentle build up to the next level. No, he was going to go right for the next level. That plan did not work out so well. He did skip the first tear of Quake, but when occurred was the second tear. Duncan needed to connect with the world even more. He felt like he could hear someone saying it was okay as well. Weird, but he did so anyways with no hesitation. There is was, the shaking ground got a bit more violent. He kept it up for a few more minutes before giving it a rest.
“Well done. You are a quick learner. Though, it did look like the ground wanted you to use it to.” The instructor told him. “You might have another connection to it than just magic. If you can figure it out, you could have a bright future in earth manipulation.”
“I am not manipulating the ground… I… huh… not sure what I am doing. Guess I do need to figure this out.”
After a few more practices, it was time for the professor to get going. The conversation with him would not leave Duncan’s forward thoughts. Something else? What could, wait… that warm feeling and the encouragement. Could that be part of it? Crap, my head hurts now.
