Welcome to Wonderland! Or.... is it Wonderland? It's a lot creepier than you'd think.... Either way, welcome! Watch your step, and make sure to make the little princess happy, or something misfortunate may happen to you.

This game is basically a spin-off of the "Alice in the Country of..." series. Honestly, you don't need to know anything about the series. It's a good read/play/watch, but it's not needed. I made this world without much knowledge, and this world doesn't match the series exactly. This game is it's own game, with it's own rules, setting, and people. So, don't worry if you're clueless!

Wonderlands Explained

What are the Wonderlands?:

A Wonderland is a completely separate world created by a Dreamer. A Dreamer is someone who is either forced or chooses to live a life within their head, or for some other reason cannot live within their body in the "Outside World". Wonderland is essentially a dream, unless the Dreamer eventually wakes up (which isn't as easy as just pinching yourself).

There are several Wonderlands, and each new one is a "New Game". The game only starts when the Dreamer enters their world and has either accepted or forced onto the starting point. Once this happens, the game starts and must eventually be completed. Once the game is completed, the Dreamer may choose to stay or leave Wonderland, and Wonderland can either continue or restart completely, or just end.

In the series, the Dreamer is Alice, and her body is trapped in the Outside World. She chooses to live in her Wonderland to cope with whatever trauma has been inflicted upon her. For her, she's brought into the game by the White Rabbit (Peter), and the Start is when she drinks a vial that fogs her memory. Her game will end when she refills the vial of her memories and chooses to either return home or stay in Wonderland.

The Rules Explained:
Games have rules, and the Wonderland games aren't an exception. Every game has its own sets of rules, and while some games may have overlapping rules, no Wonderland is the same. Sometimes, the rules are there to make a general sense of things, and others are there to prevent destruction. Some are optional to follow to make the game harder.

Break the rules, and you get varying punishments. In this world, we have a role who inflicts the punishments. Avoid messing up, because they'll come for you.

End Game:
While it's sad, all games must end! Some characters want it, others don't. But for the Dreamer, they often don't even know what the End Game is. Once a Dreamer has accomplished their obstacle, they are given a choice to leave or stay in Wonderland, and thus end the game. Sometimes, the End Game may be ignored completely and the game is forever extended. It all depends on each individual Wonderland, and how it's played.

In the series, Alice has no idea what the End Game is. For her, the End Game is when she fills her vial of memories and makes the choice to go home up or stay in Wonderland. Winning is staying in Wonderland, and going home means returning to whatever pain she was trying to avoid. The point of the series is to want to stay in Wonderland, and pick a lover to live happily with. Some characters, however, hated the game for some reason or another and will try to push or force Alice into leaving. Not every single character has to enjoy the game.

This Wonderland

General information about this game:
This is not a reboot of Alice's world. This Wonderland is a completely new world and game. It's a new setting, new characters, and maybe some altered roles here and there. While there are several other Wonderland's in TLN, each one is their own world. While the characters from other Wonderland's can communicate, there's just another Wonderland and another Dreamer.

This world is more fantasy related, due to the Dreamer having completely forgotten her former self and having nothing to reference off of. There will be monsters, magic, and more within this Wonderland, so watch where you step!

And remember, anyone can join this Wonderland.

The Dreamer:

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. ???

Reason to Dream:
??? was the second child to a wealthy couple. Her parents valued the first child more, for they were the heir, and she was cast aside constantly. Nothing she did was noticed, and other than the fact she was rather boring in appearance her parents rarely commented on her. She was the child in the back, ushered away from curious eyes and told to just "stay in your room."

She tried everything. She worked hard. She studied. She became top in her class as well as student president. As she grew up, she kept reaching out to her parents and brother. Eventually, her family snapped and told her she had a place, and to stay in it. To stay out of sight, and out of mind. She eventually fled the house, and shacked up with a friend, who later became her lover. However, misfortune fell upon her again when not only did her parents not come to her wedding, but neither did her lover. Left at the altar, ??? plunged into despair and depression before eventually ending her life. However, it seemed Death had other plans, for instead of moving on she woke in a strange world full of colors and darkness.

The Game and ???:
???'s Wonderland is basically Limbo. It's the place before moving on, and she's brought here to either face who she was and accept it, thus moving on, or completely forget her past and live within Wonderland. Given a small vial, it'll fill as she remembers who she was, and once it's completely full she must make her choice. However, it won't be easy, especially because she doesn't look like her previous self, at all. Her new form is both younger and prettier than the body in the Outside World.

Currently:
??? hasn't stepped in Wonderland yet. So far, the game hasn't started. But soon....

The Rules:
All games must have rules!

- The Dreamer must be kept happy and oblivious to darker side of Wonderland.
+ This means that ??? must not be told about the great lengths everyone goes to make her happy, and she must not be directly told about how her emotions can twist and disturb Wonderland. This also means the Roles must lead her away from trouble if can be, and must not bring trouble upon her. If this rule is broken, you'll be turned into a Shade, or lose your clock.

- The Dreamer cannot be told about why they are in Wonderland, or how to leave.
+ ??? under no means can ever be told who she was, that she's dead in the Outside World, or how to reach the End Game. Ever. Break this rule and you'll either become a Shade, or lose your clock. Only the Caterpillar may reveal to ??? glimpses of her past.

- Only the Caterpillar may erase the Dreamer's memories or alter their emotions. The only exception is the White Rabbit, who will bring the Dreamer to the Start.
+ To prevent ??? from creating a nightmare Wonderland, the Caterpillar is able to erase certain memories and/or soothe her. Anyone else who does so, whether my medicine or other means, will lose their clock immediately.

- The game ends when the Dreamer makes their decision to stay or leave.
+ ??? carries a vial, and once it fills she will be allowed to make her choice. No one can make this decision for her.

- Only the Executioner may destroy a clock.
+ If any other member of the Wonderland destroys a clock, their own clock shall be removed.

- No bloodshed will be done while the Dreamer is within earshot. Any peaceful gathering also forbids bloodshed.
+ This is both to protect Wonderland from what ???'s emotions will do, as well as ensure that there is some form of peace. Punishment is for the Executioner to decide.

- A Role holder cannot abandon their role, but can take on additional tasks.
+ If a Role holder abandons their role, then their clock is removed.

- A Role holder may not keep the Dreamer. While a powerful Role is permitted to lure or tempt the Dreamer, if the Dreamer struggles they must release.
+ Capturing the Dreamer against their will is absolutely forbidden. Punishment for doing so is within the Executioner's hands.

The Countries and Territories:
There are five countries within Wonderland, and each country has its own territories and locations. You can add one!

The Diamond Country
- The Hatter's Mansion: Owner of the land is the Mad Hatter. The Mad Hatter lives in his own mansion along with The March Hare, who serves the Mad Hatter and protects him. The Dormouse also lives here.
- The White Castle: A castle owned by the Queen/King of Hearts. This castle hosts the Black Rabbit, and the Knight who serves the Queen/King.
- The Gates: Protected by the two Gate Keepers, this land is a maze of doors that will lead you to different territories and places. However, one door is protected by the two Gate Keepers. This door allows this Wonderland to connect to other worlds, and it is strictly regulated who can go through.
- The Diamond Ocean: An ocean that glitters like diamonds because, oh wait, there's diamonds at the bottom.

The Clover Country
- The Clock Tower: A tower and neutral territory owned by the Caterpillar. The Clock Maker also lives here and maintains the clocks and gives them life. The Lizard also lives within the Clock Tower to protect the Caterpillar and the Clock Maker.
- The Screaming Forest: All Shades are banished to live within this forest. Anyone who steps within will hear screams of those important to them. It goes eerily quiet when ??? enters, but whispers can be heard still. The path constantly changes, and it's far too easy to get lost within.

The Spade Country
- The Circus: A Circus for games and fun, and food! Owned by the Executioner, those who enter the Carnival must have run or else shall be removed from the territory. The Executioner is a strict, strict Role. The Cheshire Cat also lives within this domain, however serves no one.

The Heart Country
- The Red Castle: A castle owned by the Queen/King of Hearts. This castle hosts the White Rabbit, and the Knight who serves the Queen/King.

The Joker Country
- The Dodo Mansion: Home to the Dodo and the Jokers. Owner of this land is the Dodo.
- The Graveyard: Yeah no, avoid this place. Just do it. It's not fun. The Joker Country isn't accessible by anyone not invited, and if you're invited you're screwed. The Graveyard is a field of cages holding prisoners. You're in trouble and the Red Queen doesn't want to deal with you? You go here, and you'll stay there.

The Role Holders

What are they?
Role Holders are those with roles, simply as that. They have faces, unlike those do not have a role, and they are the "important" game pieces. While it is still very possible for them to be replaced, they value a little bit more than the faceless do.

They must not abandon their role, and each role has it's own rules for what they must do. Abandonment means the Executioner will take your clock, thus killing you. You wouldn't want that, would you?

The Roles:

The Dreamer: The one who dreamed up this entire world, and the one who ultimately decides if it'll live or die. Their happiness is needed, because if she experiences a trauma and extreme fear/sadness/guilt/etc, the world will begin to corrupt and spiral into Madness.

Mad Hatter's Mansion
The Mad Hatter: Responsible over the Mad Hatter territory. He/she controls the distribution of weapons within Wonderland.
The March Hare: Protects the Mad Hatter.
The Dormouse: ??? (Needs to be defined by the owner, and can change territories)

The Clock Tower
The Caterpillar: An extremely important role with Wonderland. He/she keeps ???'s emotions under control, when they can. She experiences trauma? He/she will be there to soothe that emotion before it completely corrupts Wonderland. He/she can also enter dreams and guide ??? closer to the End Game, however must not directly tell her how to reach it. He/she can enter any dreams. Three power's that must be possible is teleportation, altering emotions/memories, and entering dreams.
The Clock Maker: Takes care of clocks. The Clock Maker also brings life to them.
The Lizard: Protector of both the Caterpillar and the Clock Maker. One power needed is teleportation.

The Circus
The Executioner: Enforces the rules, they can kill any clock and smash any clock if their judgement says so. Pissing this character off is an extreme no-no. Seriously, don't do it. Runs the Circus for some reason or another (defined when someone takes this role). Responsible for distribution of toys, sweets, and other fun things.
Cheshire Cat: Lives with the Carnival for whatever reason. (His role can be defined by whoever gets him)

The Red Castle
The Queen/King of Hearts: Owns the Red Castle. He/she is responsible keeping order, but their idea of order can be anything that doesn't directly conflict with the games overall rules.
White Rabbit: Brings ??? into Wonderland. Also is the Prime Minister of the Hearts Castle.
The Knight: Protects the Queen/King and serves under them.
The Bandersnatch: A creature who works for the Queen/King.

The White Castle
The Queen/King of Diamonds: Owns the White Castle. He/she is responsible over the currency within Wonderland.
Black Rabbit: Prime Minister of the White Castle
The Knight: Protects the Queen/King and serves under them.

The Graveyard
The Dodo: Owns a mansion within the Joker Country, he/she is extremely dangerous and responsible for making a list of candidates for Roles. He also runs most of the events.
White Joker: He/she is responsible for trying to convince ??? to face what she has done in her past life, and lure her closer to leaving Wonderland. Can change seasons/weather.
Black Joker: He/she is responsible for trying to convince ??? to run away from what she has done in her past life, and lure her close to staying in Wonderland. Can change time, meaning day can become night whenever they wish.
The Jabberwocky: Belongs to the Jokers and the Dodo as their minion.

The Gates
The Gate Keeper A: One of the two Gate Keepers, their job is to oversee who can go through the other worlds. ??? is never allowed, and if she attempts to enter the door they guard they are in-charge of making it lead somewhere else.
The Gate Keeper B: One of the two Gate Keepers, their job is to oversee who can go through the other worlds. ??? is never allowed, and if she attempts to enter the door they guard they are in-charge of making it lead somewhere else.

Faceless

Want a character in Wonderland, but don't want a Role? That's a Faceless! They're average people, doing average thing, and have no real meaning in the world. One thing, they don't have faces. While your fox can look like anything, remember that in this world they'll have no face to others.

The World as a Whole

What is the world like?

- This world is bright, full of color, and strange. Usually. When ??? steps into a territory, the territory brightens, while other territories get darker. A general peace falls over the land she's in, and often people feel happy and content. Each country and area has its own environment, and often animals. However, a danger lurks wherever ??? is not.

The Diamond Country:
- Often cold and has snow, it's a place full of white and soft colors. Its towns are also beautiful due to the fact money comes from the Diamond country, making it the richest country. All plant life seem transparent and almost like glass, but feel like normal plants. Animals takes a paler color, as well. Without ??? within the country, people become greedy and tend to screw one another over more often. Plants often also bear sharp edges, like glass, and the land becomes colder.

The Heart Country:
- Warm and passionate, the Heart country hosts a lot of warm colors. It's often summer weather here. Towns are not the prettiest, but their the sturdies. Plants are harder to find due to the heat, and animals tend to hide more. Without ??? in the country, the weapons the Mad Hatter distribute are used in the darkest alleys, and narcotics find their way around the land. Plants tend to be more poisonous when you do find them, as well.

The Clover Country
- Vibrant, beautiful, and pure, the Clover country has hundreds of colors and it seems to always be spring. Nature flocks here. There are no towns within the Clover country, instead mostly nature and the Clock Tower. Plants seem to make and odd "ticking" noise, and often leaves have clock patterns on them. When time changes, you'll hear a faint sound of a bell ring throughout the land. Avoid the Screaming Forest, which can be found in the corner of the Clover country. Without ??? in the country, the Screaming Forest torments any wandering soul, and beautiful plants can become deadly if touched. The wild life also seems more hateful towards those who approach the Clover country, and may attack.

The Spade Country
- Fun fun fun! There's always some sort of noise coming from here, and whether it be laughter or music it's never quiet. Lights are everywhere! The country seems to just enjoy a good time, but there's also something.... off. There's always a feeling of being watched when you enter this country. Animals tend to stare too long. Plants also have eye designs on them, though fade if you view them. It's almost constantly fall weather here. There are no towns, only the carnival. Without ??? in the country, people seem to disappear more often.

The Joker Country
- While almost no one leaves here to describe how this country is, it's generally accepted to be chaotic. Seasons and weather change every minute. It's also incredibly dark here. It's a barren, cold, desolate land where only one mansion thrives in. When ??? steps foot into this land, it instantly becomes bright, plants grow, and the monsters turn into regular animals.

Keeping ??? content.

- ??? needs to be content at all times, and while mild upsets are fine, anything traumatizing causes great chaos. Therefor, any Role Holders who wish for her to stay in Wonderland tend to take extreme care to not upset ???, and take care of what does upset her. This means you can easily disappear if you upset her, because some Role Holders will kill you. It also means her word is law, and even if she makes an off-handed comment they'll obey it. The world itself seems to sense the need to keep her content, because entire countries and territories become more peaceful when she enters it.

However, those who want ??? to leave Wonderland for one reason or another may directly try and traumatize her. This is extremely risky, for not only does it create a nightmare Wonderland, but also alerts the Executioner and will result in extreme punishment if they get their hands on the offender.

??? does not notice the extreme lengths other go to for her, and this probably best. Keep her oblivious, or things will go south. This also means that Role Holders who know about her Outsider body must not tell her anything about it, and must allow ??? to reveal her memories by herself.

Madness

- While ??? doesn't know it, her emotions contribute to Wonderland. While she can get mildly upset without any change, if she experiences a traumatic experience the entire world suffers. Animals become feral and twice their size, plants grow and become poisonous or consume people, and anyone with a clock feels incredible pain. The world becomes dark, and distorts into a nightmarish version of Wonderland, where everything and anything becomes a violent death trap. If a direct person traumatized her, they'll feel extreme pain and their clock will rust rapidly until the Caterpillar steps in and soothes ???. However, if the trauma was done on purpose then they become a Shade and are banished to the Screaming Forest.

Time, Seasons, and Weather

- While each country has its own environment, the White Joker and Black Joker can change the time, seasons, and weather. However, ???' feelings influence these things more. She's tired? It becomes night. She's sick? The weather becomes cold and rainy. Anger and joy do not change weather, however. A Role Holder can also request a change in time, seasons, and weather by writing a formal request to the Jokers.

Violence is Oh So Tasty

- In Wonderland, whenever ??? has her back turned violence erupts. While Wonderland is supposed to be her paradise, it doesn't have to be for the others. Life means nothing in this world, for if someone dies they can easily be replaced. Even a Role Holder can be replaced. While it is absolutely forbidden to fight around ???, or hurt her, there is no law against murdering one another.

This also means wars between territories are normal and expected. Not all territories get along, and not all countries are each others best friend.

Current Wars/Battles
- None, but that can change.

The Notable Wildlife/Plants

While Wonderland has normal animals and plants, it also has its own creatures unique to Wonderland.

Creatures
- Beetles: Beetles are extreme in size. About the size of a car, they're rather harmless. They have their own language, and tend to live within the Clover country. They are also workers, at times.
- Bread and Butterfly: This is a butterfly with wings of flat-bread, a body of a crust, and head of sugar. They live in the Heart country.
- BabbleDeer: Possess the eyes and voice of humans, but is a normal deer otherwise. Found everywhere except the Joker country. While it can make human noises and picks up words, it can't make coherent sentences.
- Chess Pieces: Creatures made of flesh and blood, but shaped like chess pieces. They live within the Heart country, and are extremely obedient and obey whoever catches them. They have no eyes or mouth, and seem to feed off of commands. They die within weeks if they find no master. Extremely rare.
- Chickens: While there are chickens, and you can eat them, they're extremely hostile and can fly. Can be found everywhere but the Joker country.
- Crab: While it resembles a crab, it is about the size of a cat and has blades for pinchers. They're not hostile, and extremely delicious. They live in the Spade and Diamond countries.
- The Crocodile: There is only one crocodile, and it's massive. Never seen, this creature creates rivers and ponds by gathering water inside it, then releasing it through its scales. Unknown where it lives
- CandySheep: Their wool are not cotton, but instead cotton candy. Can be found in the Diamond country.
- CandyGoat: Their beards are cotton candy! Can be found in the Diamond country.
- Flamingos: Poor poor flamingos. Thanks to the fact that when they see something move they go as stiff as a rock, they're used as baseball bats, mallets, and even tools! Whenever they hit something they scream. Now imagine a game of baseball with it being a bat. Found mostly in the Red Castle, but can be found in small groups in Clover country.
- Geese: Don't piss geese off, because their eggs are bombs. Can be found everywhere, especially in the Joker country.
- Grphyon: A creature with the body, tail, and back legs of a lion and the head and wings of an eagle. They also have eagle talons as their front feet. Grphyon's are extremely loyal to their masters, but also extremely picky of who is their master. They are also a means of transportation. Can be found everywhere.
- Goldfish: Goldfish are fish literally made out of gold. Can be found everywhere.
- Hayddox: A creature with the face of a cat, body of a ferret, and tail of a cow. Their eyes are huge as an owls, and extremely valuable, and can prolong life if put on clothes as buttons. Extremely rare and only live within the Clover country.
- Playing Cards: Creatures of flesh and blood that resemble playing cards. They are disobedient and while desire a master they will always do the opposite of what they're told. Mostly found in the Heart country, and extremely rare. They live longer than Chess Pieces do without a master.
- Rattlesnakes: Instead of killing targets when they bite, rattlesnakes cure those who are sick or boost immune systems. Only found in the Spade country.
RollingSnails: These snails have dull shells, and tend to enjoy racing one another. They still don't go very fast.... but they can speak! That's something, right? Right.... Found everywhere.
- Slee: Very friendly at first, but will drag you to the deep and chant riddles at you. Most likely, you can't answer them due to drowning. On the off chance you can answer, you'll be given a golden scale and it'll leave. They resemble eels. Can be found in the Diamond Ocean.
- Spelling Bees: Little elephants, and their trunks are stingers. They'll scream commonly misspelled words at you until you spell them back correctly. Mess up and they'll sting you.
- Trunkbees: Bees in Wonderland are tiny elephants, and their trunks are stingers. Yes, you heard me. Deal. They can fly for a few seconds, but due to being rather... erm, plump, they tend to fall pretty quickly.
Unicorns: While beautiful, the horned horse is not for pure maidens. They're spiteful, angry, and often end up destroying things just to prove their powerful. Can only be found in the Diamond country, and extremely rare. Their blood does prolong life and beauty.

Plants
- PeepingFlowers: In Spade, you'll find that there are flowers that seem to look like they have eye patterns on them. These flowers "close" their eyes when you look at them. The Executioner can see whatever the flowers do whenever they want. Mostly in Spade country.
- PeepingLeaves: Exactly like the flowers.
- SecretFlowers: Flowers who scream the secrets of others. Be careful where you gossip!

Monsters
- Boojum: A type of snark that makes you disappear when you catch it. Only found in the Spade country.
- JubJub: A huge bird with a black body, red feather tips, and the size of a vulture. They sing romantic songs, poorly, and if you don't praise them they'll claim your eyes. Live in the Spade country. Extremely rare.
- Dragons: Vicious creatures, they lurk within the Joker country and tend to snatch female Faceless' to consume.
- Madness Spider: A spider that will make your worst fears appear before you in illusions when they bite. Can be found anywhere, but have a distinct glowing black shadow around them.
- Snarks: Unimaginable creatures. "There are different varieties of snarks. Some having feathers and bite and others having whiskers and scratch. They have a liking for bathing-machines, so they carry them wherever it goes, and the taste of the snark is meager and hollow, but crisp with a flavor of Will-o-the-wisp. It is sometimes served with greens. It also sleeps late into the day." However, meet one in the Spade country and you'll find that they'll torment you with poorly timed jokes, and then consume you whole if you don't laugh. Sucks to be you.
- Shades: Faceless and the rare Role Holder who have traumatized ??? badly, and on purpose, or broke an important rule. When ??? steps in the Clover country, they'll revert to normal, but when she leaves they return into beast form.
- TwoFacedOwl: A creature who has two faces. Charm him and listen to his nonsensical advice and he'll drop down diamonds. Anger him or ignore his advice and he'll roll his head back and reveal a face with a crooked beak and dark eyes and rip at your limbs. Only one exists and lives within the Heart country.
