It was a shared sentiment between them both: the faster they did this, the faster they could finish the preparation. Shik in particular was impatient now that Medea had promised them power, and within several days they were off.

They could have simply pressganged an Initiate into this, but Shik wanted some fun out of this. Screaming gave him a little high after all. So it was that together they stalked the campus grounds that day, which eventually led to the executioner up in a tree near the forbidden forest's edge. A large bag was in his grasp, the gag tied around his arm.

His gaze turned upon Shaheen's, teeth gleaming in an eager grin under the mottled shadows of leaves. Last time he had gotten to initiate the struggle; it was only fair she got to choose this time. "At your leisure~"

It didn't even matter to her so much that they did things quickly so that they got their promised power, but more so that this particular part of their task sounded like it was going to be an awful lot of fun. Not beating hunters into a messy, bleeding, and often times burning pulp fun, but a certain kind of fun none the less.

The students. The cannon fodder. Today, they were going to pick one very unlucky individual from within their crowds and hand them over to Medea, trussed up like a fine little piggy ready for the roast.

At Shik's movement, she glanced towards him, his grin answered in kind before she gave him a nod, his invitation to let her choose, to let her be the one to swoop down from above on their victim, understood and taken. "You just be sure that you are ready~" She replied, her voice betraying just how very eager she was.

And then came the girl.

Her appearance was striking, with odd colored skin and hair to go along with it. It attracted attention, and perhaps today not the kind of attention the young one might have wanted. Shaheen did not know her, did not recognize her for one of their own initiates, and if she had, it might not have even mattered.

Her sights were locked. That was the one that she wanted.

Without looking back at Shik, she lifted her hand, making a motion to indicate that she was going to move, before her wings slowly spread out behind her.

All the girl might have noticed before mottled grey hands were settling around her, one across her mouth while another encircled around to pin her arms, was a dark shadow from above, one that silently and rapidly grew until it was much too late to do anything to stop it.

Sophie had, in fact, noticed the dark shadow above her but she had reacted too late and had not turned in time to see who it was that was grasping her. For a brief moment, she thought perhaps it was a friend sneaking up on her but the hand over her mouth told her otherwise. She screamed; even though it was muffled and she was too far away from the majority of the student body for anyone to hear. Her legs thrashed and kicked and she tried to wiggle her way out of the hold; but her attacker was too strong. Another scream, head jerking backwards; maybe she'd at least give whoever it was a bloody nose or a black eye.

Tears brimmed her eyes and she tried to breathe out a sob; coughing against the hand in the process. Why the Jack had she wandered so far away?

He feigned affront. As if he could be caught unprepared.

Like cogs in the machine, as one moved, so did the other. Shaheen's target wrestled with more effort than he gave students credit for, but in the end it would not matter. "This one is undead. Perhaps we should remove her tongue?" he suggested with a smirk as he undid the cloth at his arm. "Or her eyes. Or perhaps we should take her ears? So many delightful possibilities~"

As their target struggled, he aimed a blow to one of her legs to ease the thrashing. "To the trees," he told Shaheen as he moved to pick the zombie up by a limb. "This area is too open and she too noisy."

The girl had spunk, she would give her that. Zombie strength was nothing to shrug at, and this one was demonstrating that well as she thrashed in Shaheen's grip, a kick catching her in the shin and eliciting a hiss from between clenched teeth.

And then the back of the girls head was smashing against her mouth, and Shaheen instantly tasted blood as the inside of her lips were cut by her own teeth. Turning her head to the side, she spat what had begun to fill her mouth up out onto the ground, then grinned a crazed, red grin before barking out a laugh, her grip on the girl tightening as wings spread out behind her.

"Funny. I always thought the undead were a bit dull, and that it was the ghosts who had all of the spirit."Somebody was feeling clever, today.

"Why take something she can only sew back on again later? She has an awful lot of pretty hair. Maybe we should cut that off instead."She growled that last part near the girls ear, just as Shik struck out at the zombies leg.

Heeding Shik's advice, when he was ready, she beat her wings, and the girl would soon find herself feeling quite weightless as she was flown up off of the ground, until they had reached the tops of the tree's, where they were able to land, hopefully out of sight within the copse that provided a thick covering of branches to obscure them from view.

"Truss her up nice and tight. She's stronger then she looks."

Another voice joined the party and Sophie hoped that it was a rescuer negotiating the terms of her release. The hope lasted a split second before the mention of cutting various parts of her body off. She shivered; whimpering a little at the thought. His blow - she could tell he was male by his voice - caused her to help and she stopped struggling. It was obvious she wasn't going to get free and she didn't want to be beaten up, either. At the though of them cutting off her hair, Sophie's eyes went wide. It was depressing to admit she would be more upset with her hair being cut off than she would her limbs. Like they said - she could sew them back on but she couldn't sew her hair back on.

As she felt herself lift up, she got a little dizzy, head lolling a little before they were on solid ground - er, tree. Zombies weren't meant to fly. She let out a sob against the palm of the woman, sniffing.

Once in the trees he felt better and immediately got to work tightening the ghoul's bindings. Shaheen's wit was rewarded with a bark of laughter as he then fitted the gag on the zombie. Today really was a good day. "Why?" he repeated with a devious grin as his fingers toyed with one of the ghoul's ears. "Simply because it is there for the taking, of course."

Need one a better reason?

Without warning her ear became encapsulated by one rather pointy-nailed grasp, and with a forceful yank he tore it off. It wasn't quite enough for him, however, to have just the outer extension removed; nor was it prudent of him to leave the job half done. As one hand grasped the ghoul's scalp to prevent her from wriggling too much, he extended a pointer into the opening and made a swift jab past the ear drum, scraping around for a moment before he was satisfied. And then, wiping it off on her clothes, the same happened to her other side.

It had been a while since he had been truly cruel without any reason to be. Maybe it would have made a difference if he had known Sophie was an Initiate.

(Probably not.)

"It wouldn't do if she started to mouth off afterwards either," he went on to say to Shaheen conversationally. "I was only thinking of us, kitten~ Her hair is very bothersome, however . . . I recommend cutting it off as you said before we begin." Just because he thoroughly enjoyed the idea of spilling a bag full of frightened zombie girl at Medea's feet didn't mean he wanted to deal with the added weight of vanity.

The forcefully stifled sob was met with only more pressure from Shaheen's hand and a hiss of "Shut up or I will rip out your tongue." At this point her finger nails were digging sharply into the girls cheek, and she shifted a bit restlessly on her perch as she waited for Shik to complete the task of binding the girl up tight, only removing her hand when he was ready to slip the gag into place.

She leveled Shik with a hard stare at his answer, opening her mouth to speak, to say "She is only a child," But she cut herself off abruptly when he ripped off the zombies ear, her face instantly falling into a blank mask state so as he hide her quickly rising alarm and surprise that he had followed through with the threat, after having previously thought he had only been saying it to mess with the girls head. Her arm was still around the girl, despite the fact that she was completely bound, and the muscle in her arm strained slightly as she fought to control a sudden wave of emotion that rose from watching her partner deal out his bit of torture to the teenager.

She shouldn't have cared. She should not have cared. She was willing to hand over any student required to Medea to get the task done, because once they were under the high priestesses care, they were no longer the war chieftains to worry about. But in her time spent so near Amityville since the fall of the isles, she had come to respect, and even like, many of the students that inhabited the school. From a red haired demon with a temper problem, to a purple haired reaper that had taken commands so diligently, to a small, zombie like girl who had proven on more then one occasion her usefulness. And there were others, so many others that she had come to know.

But she didn't know this one. Did that make it easier? She could watch as the girls ears were ripped off, as her ear drums were burst with the sharp p***k of a claw and not flinch, but that didn't mean she had to like it.

"Of course you were." She smiled at him then, a flash of teeth, her gaze moving up to look him in the eye, all the while telling herself, she'll be fine. If Medea doesn't destroy her, everything will heal and she will be fine. She thought about pointing that fact out to Shik, but he certainly could have figured out as much for himself.

Moving with precise movements, she lifted up her free hand, grabbing for the girls hair and wrapping it around her fist, once, and then again, pulling on it tight, pulling her head back, for all intents and purposes looking as though she was about to tear it straight from her scalp, rather then cut it off.

And then she stopped, and releasing the girl from the hold she still held around her mid drift, and taking in a sharp breath, she deftly jabbed thumb and index finger down, digging across the flesh down the bridge of her nose and on the opposite side of her eye, before deftly pulling it back and out with an audible sucking sound, ending in a sharp snap.

An eye in the palm of her hand for her efforts, before she did the same to the other one.

"So she can not tell of where she had been." She explained, releasing the hair, before giving Shik a sharp look.

"Leave it."

Sophie had stayed still whilst in the trees. She didn't know how high up they were and she didn't want to risk falling and breaking something. She didn't think her captors were the type to care about a few broken limbs enough to fix them before dragging her back. The male voice spoke again and Sophie shivered, shying away from him. He seemed the more sadistic of the two - the one who suggested maiming her more than the female. The touch on her ear had her eyes widened, mouth stretching open against the hand; preparing for the whimper that was building up in her throat. The yank came quickly and the whimper was quickly replaced with a scream. It hurt. She didn't expect it to hurt - didn't the undead loose limbs all the time? - but it did and she thrashed and kicked as much as she possibly could. Then her head was held in place and she felt a sharp pain before a pop and her ear was ringing. Her head swirled and darkness danced in front of her eyes. She tried to blink it away along with the tears that had built up. The hand wiped against her and she shuddered; though the revelation that he was not yet done with her made her prefer his hands elsewhere to what he was about to do. She had prepared herself this time; it didn't hurt as much now that she was expecting it. She bit her lip until she could taste her own blood, tightly shutting her eyes. When he was done; there was a dull hum in here ears. She could hear their voices but could barely make out the words. She could feel the blood pooling and tilted her head to each side, hoping it would help. It didn't, of course and she slumped back, breathing deep, unnecessary breaths.

The hand in her hair didn't pull a reaction from Sophie. What was her hair compared to her hearing? Perhaps the distraction would be a relief from this horror. She felt the hold release and thought perhaps they had had enough; that this was a game and they had already tired of her. Her thoughts of escape were quickly plucked away as the woman's fingers dug into her socket and removed her eye. It tugged at first and it annoyed Sophie. It wasn't until it snapped that the pain set in and Jack, was it painful. She wished she could grow her ears again and have them ripped off a hundred times over. She couldn't even scream; her facial features instead twisted into a mixture of pain and horror. She watched wide eyed as the other finger came and the other eye was removed, plunging her quickly into nothingness. Darkness; silence. She could feel the warm blood pooling in her sockets before it overflowed and trickled down her face.

It was more than she could take and she slumped against the woman holding her, limbs going slack. She had passed out though she occasionally whimpered and twitched; taking in sharp breaths when her brief seconds of consciousness reminded her of the pain.

There was far too much glee in his eyes at the sight of her eyes being plucked: like crows descending on a wayward corpse. Shik wanted to do so much more, starting with a proper scalping (as if these things honestly cared when they could just buy new parts)--so naturally Shaheen had to be the conscionable one of the pair and ruin his fun.

The fact that the one with Insanity had a less broken moral compass than the (technically) normal one spoke volumes about their partnership and dynamics.

"Fine. But keep its tongue where it lies," he purred, letting a few nails drift lightly under the zombie's chin. She'd gone slack against Shaheen, damn. What weaklings. "Would that we hear its screams as this happens. I'll let you try to slap it awake, then, while I get her attention."

Once Shik had helped stick the student halfway into the bag, he reached up to locate the charmed feather Medea had given him and touched it, signaling that they were ready to move forward.

In front of them, a portal appeared, with gilded gold frames and a menacing red glow. It seemed to beckon to them to enter.

On the other side was the Head Priestess, still holding a mirror. There was someone else's reflection in the mirror, it was unclear whom, another face that seemed as fair as Medea's-

- And then the former Head Priestess turned around to greet her guests. She eyed the bag in slight distaste. "I think perhaps, asking War Horsemen to perform a simple operation was a bit too crude. Nonetheless, I believe I can still get what I want done. She reached for one of the many vials tied along the rafters of the tent, pulling out a glowing gold and blue one. "The student, bring the student to me."

"I had no intention of removing the tongue." She sounded almost indignant as she placed the two eyeballs now in the palm of her hand into an open pouch tied around her hip for safe keeping, though she cared very little for what Shik did with the ears, and if she had things her way she would likely beat the ghoul into dissipation later anyways so that she could reform, whole, and likely in the nurses station at the school.

While Shikoba made the call to Medea, Shaheen did as he had suggested and turned the ghoul around in her arms, giving her a quick shake and a slap across the face to try and awaken her, before dumping her into the sack with a shake of her head and lifting it up, eyeing the now newly arrived portal with all of it's elegant gilded frames and it's red glow.

Shrugging, she stepped through with a flutter of feathers and a beat of her wings, coming to stand in front of the head priestess, golden eyes landing on the mirror she held, and head cocking to the side as she tried to make out just who's image she could barely see reflected back at them.

But then Medea turned, and Shaheen's attention went directly and fully towards her, hefting up the bag a bit higher and opening her mouth as if to speak, before snapping it closed when Medea spoke instead.

When she was finished, Shaheen tried again. "Why thank you, Head Priestess." As if being called crude was a great compliment. At least it was better then being called a child?

Dropping the bag, she opened it up to pull the zombie girl out, in all her eyeless and earless glory, before dragging her towards the head priestess herself, not bothering to mention the bit of fun they had with the girl before bringing her.

"I do hope this will suffice. If not, I am sure Shik and I both would be all too happy to fetch another for you." An empty smile went with the words, the girl held up in front of Shaheen now so that the head priestess could get a better look at her.

Sophie had drifted in and out of consciousness, only staying awake for more than a few seconds when her kidnapper slapped her across the face. She felt a shift, a change in location and, in her stupid haze, looked around to see where they were for a few seconds, waiting for the darkness to adjust into a clear picture. Naturally, it didn't and she slumped back, defeated. The blood had started to congeal in her ears and it only further inhibited her hearing; now she couldn't make out any words. It was all muffled humming.

As she was grabbed, Sophie let out a whimper and tried to crawl herself towards wherever it was she was going, so she might at least save her limbs from scrapes and bruises. When she stopped, she lay on the ground, cheek pressed against a cold surface. She breathed in deep breathes and curled into a ball, waiting for whatever horror was coming next.

"It is enough." Medea nodded simply at Shik and Shaheen's arrival and took out a small, empty bottle. She leaned over towards Sophie, crouching really, and used one delicate, free hand to inspect the more damaged parts. She made a face and turned to Shaheen.

"Any second later and she would be too unstable. There is no other choice." One finger trailed and flipped Sophie over on her back-

- And then Sophie saw herself. Or, she saw an apparition of herself walk towards Medea. It looked exactly like she did, only not damaged. It contained something, feeling, a memory. The apparition turned around for a second, looked at Sophie, nodded almost in grim acknowledgement before disappearing entirely.

In Medea's open palm was a gold fragment. The Head Priestess turned it over to one side. "Unblemished, truly a pure memory. This will suffice, such wonderful memories blossom ones far greater." She nodded to Shik and Shaheen. "It is a good choice. Please, discard of the student as you wish."

Sophie has lost a memory of any occurrence! It can be any memory, as long as it is a happy one from her past! She will not be able to regain it again!

Shik just grinned like a victorious, vicious five year old to greet Medea. Nothing could taint the fun a little cruelty gave every now and then, let alone victims who actually curled up. Beautiful~

He lightly crossed his arms as the high priestess did her thing, even at his most smug able to tell Shaheen's feathers were ruffled over Medea's choice of words. He flicked one of his wings to touch hers as if to remind her, water off a duck's back. They could be deemed savages for all he cared (in fact, he dearly hoped someone would compliment him so), so long as it led to their rise to power.

At Medea's request, he was all too happy to lean over, leering, and yank the zombie back into the bag to tie up. "What next?" he asked conversationally. "More White Coat blood? A head on a silver platter?"
