Visitors to the shrine are annoying. Many of them in their own way. One of these annoying people is Yukari Yakumo. Even today she seems annoying just by her very presence. Sitting on the steps and enjoying the day. It's disgust- I mean...Wonderful. Yukari is not annoying and she is the most beautiful woman in the world.

Yukari was enjoying a short rest at the shrine. She enjoyed popping in and out of Reimu's life here and there to have some fun of her own. Her head turned to where Reimu was as she asked "Pardon me but mind serving some tea for your guests?" pointing to herself with that smug grin behind the fan. Hiding her cheeks as well. She only just popped over and like always, demands things. She would continue to talk to herself as if edging Reimu on.
"It's such a beautiful day isn't it? The perfect mood for relaxing and enjoying it with friends...speaking of which..." her eyes shot over to the entrance of the shrine. Spotting two frisky little black cats and the visage of a man with a white long coat. One of the odd tendrils from his back were carrying a small package as they approached them. Yukari sighed "And now the day is going to be ruined." she said, resting her head on her hand as if she didn't already ruin the peace. Instead more was going to be added.

The cats jumped up the steps and in unison shifted on their feet with a triumphant pose. The man laughed "Alright you two, no more outside television with Chen if you keep this act up. You should know better. The Priestess already has enough headaches from us all." then beamed at Yukari as she looked back with a threatening glare as well "Seems like someone dose not know the definition of Annoyance."
"But i do...and it starts with a Y and ends with O." in a flash, She pulled her umbrella tip to Nahumar's neck as two of his tendons did the same...but they gave up and both felt defeated "You liked those shows too. Don't lie.". Nahumar nodded, then remembered to hand the small basket to Reimu.
"I came by to drop off something extra. Sorina made a bit too much food and asked me to deliver these here." it was filled with pork steam buns! He was like some kind of saint sent from above.

The "company", indeed, was a bit troublesome. Yukari was lways on time to be inconvenient. Surely there must be much more interesting people than a humble shrine maiden, wanting nothing more than a day of peace and quiet. Either way, Reimu had come to accept the lingering threat of Yukari's presence, and today was no different. The shrine maiden had just prepared herself a lovely kettle of tea when the Gap Youkai had appeared, as if on time for an appointment. Naturally, Yukari needed no appointment, invitation, or anything of the sort, as she often times invited herself, made appointments, and generally found ways to be incredibly inconvenient.

Again, today was no different.

And of course, where Yukari went, trouble was soon to follow. Today, trouble took on three very familiar forms. Reimu let out a sigh, and returned inside her shrine as the trio approached. As they reached the shrine and had their exchange with the Yakumo, Reimu came back with a set of four empty cups, carried in one arm, and the tea kettle of matching clay in the other hand.

"Hello, Nahumar." Reimu said with a slightly nicer tone than normal, though her intention was simply to ignore Yukari altogether. She set the cups down, all in a row, and began to fill them in one smooth motion, and one pour. Once completed, she placed the kettle beside the cups and returned upright, just as Nahumar presented his gift to her.

Reimu paused, sniffing the air lightly. It was... meat! She quickly snatched up the package and inspected it closely, a small smile lighting up her face. "Why, how thoughtful of her. I must repay her somehow... at some point. And you, of course, for bringing them here."

Nahumar was truly kind to many creatures, yet put humans on the top more than others. "That's kind of you but I was merely the messenger." he smiled as well. Yukari replied with a little smug comment "Well I would give Reimu food but others do it for me, so technically I was the one who made it." glaring back at Nahumar as if asking for a challenge. Nahumar looked back as if sparks flying between them. Ready to go to war.
"I bet you do not even know how to make a meat bun in your entire life."
"Why should I when Ran makes the best? You can't even taste test it without adding chocolate to it."
"Only because it is how i was made."
"Schoolgirl Nightmare."
"Old Hag."
They bickered and fought like grandparents who hated one another yet they seem to keep the straight face while talking. Yet their feud had some root problem more than just Humans Vs Youkai in this regard...well maybe.

Incubo and Sogno on the other hand sat back and watched them. entertained by the two. Sogno looked at Reimu to ask "Master Nahumar never gets along with Miss Yakumo huh?" her feline like outlook on life always present. The two even managed to grab one bun to split between them for the sake of enjoyment. The two shinigami look so similar in design and looks yet their eyes and outfit design give their gender more. Incubo looked at Reimu to ask "Why do they resist fighting?"

Reimu shrugged and, prompted by the two younger siblings, took out a bun for herself and took a small bite from it.

"Hm... who can say?" She said, sitting near the two and allowing Yukari and Nahumar to trade petty insults. "They seem to have a strange sort of respect for another... perhaps that is what keeps them from fighting?" She took another bite, pausing briefly. "Or maybe they have a love-hate thing going on. Have they shared a bed?" She talked about these things rather nonchalantly, simply looking over the two without judgement as she did. For once, she didn't seem to be bothered at all with conversing with the two parasites, or the fact Yukari and Nahumar had chosen her shrine to display their backwards affection for one another.

"... On second thought, I don't want to think about that. I don't think my brain could comprehend the amount of reality warping these two could achieve in copulation. That's how incidents start."

Hearing Reimu mention sharing a bed they froze immediately. They backed off from one another, feeling shame in each other for what they acted like. Incubo and Sogno already made comments quietly of how Reimu can easily shut the two down. Yukari turned to Reimu for a moment to speak once more "If you are curious, Nahumar and I are bound by the rules that were set in place here early in Gensokyo. Besides, Nahumar couldn't hold a candle to my strength." she laughed it off. Nahumar blinked a bit "Uhh...sure. Anyways, forgive me for the way I acted." he bowed politely as he sat on the opposite side of the steps. Yukari took this chance to open a gap to tap on his shoulder. Nahumar motioned to look in that direction then back at Yukari who chuckled at his stupidity "Laugh it up." He said without any amusement. Yukari slowed her chuckle to speak to Reimu "In any case, I came by for another reason, and now that Nahumar is here this will be even better." she pulled out a strange black ring from a tiny gap and handed it to Reimu. Nahumar's eyes widen with what it was.

A mood ring.

Sogno decided now was not the best time to talk to those two and instead pulled Incubo with her to the grounds, chasing one another like little cats.

Reimu shrugged, "It's alright." she replied to Nahumar's apology, still trying to ignore Yukari for the most part. She poured herself a cup of tea and sat to drink from it. She would much rather enjoy it alone, but that did not appear to be possible.

The announcement of a second agenda, however, piqued Reimu's curiosity. For the first time since she arrived, Reimu glanced at Yukari from the corner of her eye, her lips still pressed to her teacup. As the black ring was presented, she lowered the cup into her lap and turned her head fully to inspect the object.

"What on earth is that?" She queried, leaning a little closer, taking the ring into her hand. The ring felt nice to touch, and was very smooth. "Is this... a gift?"

That sly smirk said it all to Nahumar. She was planning to make things uncomfortable. She explained "It's a small item from the outside world. It's a magical stone that can read the emotion of one who wears it. The females use to wear these for a short time as a sort of trend.". The ring itself was just a normal silver band with an odd stone. It was clear that it could be a farce but the look on Nahumar's face told a different story "H-how about you don't put that ring on-" Yukari promptly put her hand over his mouth "Oh don't mind Nahumar. Go on, wear it. I promise it will be fun."

The ring itself would gauge Reimu's mood based on the heat she gave off, but what Yukari did was infuse it with a bit of the ol' Gensokyo magic and instead will let her read her current emotion in real time as oppose to just heat. Why this made Nahumar a bit uneasy was the ring itself. Once on her finger, Reimu could also see through Nahumar's shell. In fact, on this day he decided to not use a tendon and instead pilot it himself through the head portion.

Incubo and Sogno soon went over to a corner to nap for the time being.
PostPosted: Thu Feb 13, 2014 1:01 pm

"What is the point of being able to read one's emotions? If it's for the benefit of the wearer, then it's absolutely useless, as they should know what they feel. In that case, it must be for the benefit of others, so as to understand what the wearer is feeling. Is that correct?" Reimu scoffed, turning the ring over in her hand, further inspecting it. It was obviously a setup by one of them. What use would they have knowing what she felt? Was it any of their business? Of course not. Reimu contemplated chucking the ring somewhere, but...

Fine. Whatever, she'll humor them. Just for today. She set her cup down and slipped the ring onto a finger, then held out her hand. The gem took on a pale color, trapped somewhere between yellow and green. "There, happy?" Reimu took up her cup once more and sipped from it, then turned her gaze to-- oh eyeball.

"... Nahumar. You're naked. Why did you change back again?" She peeked around him and at Yukari, "Are you playing games again...?"

(Gah, I actually had to look up mood ring colors and their definitions xD supposedly that's "mixed feelings")

Yukari enjoyed how Reimu just accepted the little trinket. Her smile unwavering as she made the comment. "It looks like Nahumar is actually here, isn't he?" she smirked and aimed her glare to Nahumar. "What are you talking about? This is just a shell...d-don't trust the ring is all." he tried to convince Reimu badly that he wasn't there. With his true body here, he was capable of having a more personal conversation.

Yukari on the other hand had another idea as she poked his cheek with a folded fan. Nahumar responded by pushing it out of his face "So I was right all along. You are indeed really here! So how about we pry you out of that shell, clam?" This started a little game of tackle as Yukari gripped the head of his shell, trying to open it while Nahumar was trying to keep it closed. "Get off me already!" he cried just as the head finally popped off and sent Nahumar flying beside Reimu on the steps. His orb like appearance known to these two only. Yukari then proceed to dance with the 'headless' shell "You are so light on your feet Nahumar-san." Yukari replied in a teasing tone. Nahumar just started to hop a bit on the step repeatedly in anger over this "Give me my shell back now!"

His attention turned to Reimu, like a little brother to a big sister, his eye looking like an innocent critter as he asked "Please get my shell back...". It was one of those days wasn't it? Incubo and Sogno on the other hand just played with Yukari as well and danced with each other. Not to mock him but to just liven up the place. Yet Yukari was also torturing him a little.

Reimu blinked and looked down at Nahumar, genuinely perplexed. "Honestly, can't you take care of your own things by yourself? What do I look like, your nanny?" The ring turned a darker shade. She sighed and set her cup down, standing up on the steps of her shrine. "Yukari, please return Nahumar's things. Aren't you embarrassed to act like children? Or if you insist on it, then please do so somewhere other than my shrine."

There, that was all she could do, right? What else did that little floating ball of tar expect of her? She sat back down and resumed enjoying her tea. Then it dawned on her...

That she was currently surrounded by three pieces of Nahumar. A headless shell to one side, a bouncing ball of anger to the other, and a rather disturbing scene of a head being toyed with like doll. Ugh. As if one Nahumar wasn't bad enough... She was rather uncomfortable, and the ring's color showed this.

Yukari shrugged as she stopped what she was doing to put Nahumar back together. Incubo and Sogno looked at the two and openly asked "why do you two hate each other?". Yukari smiled "We don't hate each other. We merely are indifferent. Though you two shouldn't concern yourselves over our relation so much." she spoke like that aunt who never wanted the kids to get involved. Nahumar adjusted his head and looked to Reimu to bow "I thank you for helping me. Now are you in the mood to speak what is on your mind?" he offered to listen, but Yukari soon shot a glare at Nahumar.

She tackled the so called master of fear and taunted him "trying to get on Reimu's good side? Not on my watch you pitiful wad of fear!". The two were refine enough on their own but together they act like human children more than Yokai. At least with their appearance.

It really does make one wonder how Yukari had not just killed Nahumar already.

"I am in the mood to do no such thi--" Reimu had started to reply, but the sweeping flourish of violet caught her off guard. She turned her head to see the two, now a tangled mess of limbs while the Gap Witch grappled with the youkai of Fear.

It was by now that Reimu had decided she had had enough. She raised a hand, her palm filled with magic, and summoned a magical barrier into existence. The rectangular manifestation of spiritual power forced itself between Yukari and Nahumar. It was a safe pressure, so neither would be hurt by its expenditure nor by coming into contact with the shield.

"If you two don't mind, I would like to have a peaceful and relaxing visit with my 'guests', whom so kindly invited themselves, rather than constantly remind one another to act their age!" She took a quick sip from her cup, ignoring the slight burn it gave her tongue. She herself was red hot, and her ring had turned a vibrant color to show it. "And I still cannot fathom the exact nature of your wanting to know my emotions!"

The two beasts looked at one another and then to Reimu. Yukari pouted while Nahumar bowed his head for forgiveness. The question about knowing her emotions caught his attention. He had to come clear "I am just interested to hear what you wish to talk about." even when he had Yukari nearby. Yukari chuckled "Nahumar is always a silent one until he needs to be vocal." then glared at Nahumar. The sparks ready to fly once more in the air just from the two standing close. Nahumar took his seat on the ground where he stood as Yukari sat nearby, but not close, to Reimu. She had a plan to have fun with Reimu but Nahumar was in her way. Nahumar also had his own plan and Yukari was in his way.

Incubo and Sogno trotted around the shrine for a bit to explore only as much as they could. Finding one of Reimu's spare orbs, the two began playing with it by just passing it back to each other and tackling it for fun. Nahumar's tendons sprout out from his back for a bit to stretch and flex for the time. Yukari examined them closely and... "...Crab Monster!" Yukari blurted out and pointed at Nahumar "I figured out what your tendons are like...They are juicy crab legs!". Nahumar looked unamused as he clearly stated "No. Quit thinking my limbs are edible. You sound like that ghost...". He returned to his flexing, his tendons continued to make various patterns and shapes to try and pass the time.

Reimu let out a huff. "There is little I wish to talk about, at least while the two of you continue to act so immature." She took a mighty sip from her cup once more, and once more ignored the slight burn. "And Nahumar's tendons or whatever look nothing like that!" She said with a cold glare at Yukari, her cheeks puffed up ever so slightly and possibly, MAYBE, being defensive of him. But probably not.

"His appearance can be no worse than the horrors and writhing... things... your gaps can produce. You've tossed me into enough of them to know this firsthand. You must like getting felt up quite a bit if you keep things like that in there--" There was a small smirk on her lips. Wow, was she getting a bit catty?

"Oh don't be like that Reimu. You adore my little gaps." her deviate smile said it all. A creature like her could be merciless in torturing humans of all kinds. Nahumar said nothing as he experienced some of those gaps as well. Mostly wishing to forget it. Though as soon as the idea of shellfish came into play, Incubo and Sogno latched their jaws onto one of Nahumar's tendons. He nearly cried in agony and pain from it due to him being truly there instead of just a puppet "Gah! Get off you two! I am not edible!"

Yukari just laughed "It looks like you are Nahumar. I could go for some delectable crab myself." enjoying the antics. She looked over at Reimu with more of a serious look while Nahumar was occupied with the twins "I had not forgotten the comment you said earlier about him and I. We do not have much of a history per-say. He is just an odd type of being. During one of my trips to some old ruins, I found some interesting information about not just him but the others. An ancient civilization in a vast desert seem to pay tribute to seven beings. Among them three of the depictions were recognizable. Granted Nahumar is still a child compared to someone like myself, yet being so close to humans as he is makes him frightening in what he could accomplish. One has to wonder if he is just biding his time until he can match Dragon in power? Humans, unlike Youkai, exhibit nearly unlimited possibilities to grow and expand...and if Nahumar can do the same..." she stopped as she noticed Nahumar now chasing his little Shinigamis like a father with his kids.

"Then wouldn't he realize by now that he could just wipe out all the humans for us Youkai?" her old ways speaking once more. Yukari would give no remorse for any human, yet she had to endure this truce with them to preserve the future of the Youkai and keep the connection between humans at a standstill for as long as she can, despite letting the outside world's technology dribble in. If she had it her way, she would level the human village. She still had a long way to go to understand humans in full, despite knowing many are quick to judge one of appearances and backstabbing the defenseless. Oh how she wanted to just snap their necks.

"Inucbo, Sogno!" Nahumar cried out as Yukari was tackled by the two little black cats before morphing into their human like image to snuggle against Yukari's face. She went with it to make sure Nahumar didn't listen in and laughed with them. "So energetic like Chen as well! You two are quickly adapting fast.". It seemed like Nahumar to always change the mood in some way.
