Do Not Judge. ''You don't know what storm We're experiencing iced over roads. I was out of work today and yesterday. I'm sort of chill about it. I mean, no money for the week, but I can work on my hobbies a bit more. I did quite a bit of new nail art. And I'm catching up on anime and just made some delicious hot cocoa (my friends say I make the best). Kalua flavoring with vanilla Smirnoff, some boardwalk fudge from New Orleans and Baily's mint. So, anyone else having this going on? Stories? I've asked her to go through.'' ~God

I'm lucky enough to live in southern California and so don't have to worry about storms. We've got nice cool weather.

Oh, wait, yeah. Topic. Right. Yep, we've got a good-sized winter storm going on over here. Sleet, snow, sleet, rain, sleet, wind, sleet, sleet... Trees crashing, transformers exploding, power lines iced, electricity out in various places. Fortunately, at our apartment we have NOT lost any power, but the lights have flickered several times. And by tonight, tomorrow... who knows? 0.o

Here it's the other way around. Normally around this time of year it's cold and wintry. Now the average temperature is around 10 degrees celsius everyday. :/

Do Not Judge. ''You don't know what storm Hahaha! Yeah. The batch came out really tasty! And I'm sorry, it came from Jersey, not New Orleans. My mistake. But any good fudge will do, I'm sure. But yeah, good recipe in my opinion. I used 2% milk but it tends to be best if it's whole milk though. Yeah the sun is out today. The roads are thawing but I stayed home anyway just because MY car doesn't have the BEST traction ever and my husband's car keeps stalling and he didn't want to risk me stalling on my way to or from work. Plus it might ice over tonight again when it gets colder again. How are you holding up today? I've asked her to go through.'' ~God

Noticeably cooler than usual? (I think your avi is just awesome, by the way! Very unique!) Yeah, its colder. But nothing near what you're describing. I think the lowest its gotten this year was like 40 degrees. Which is freezing to us, but I've got friends in places where it gets to below zero. So, I'm not gonna complain.

Crinis Yeah the sun is out today. The roads are thawing but I stayed home anyway just because MY car doesn't have the BEST traction ever and my husband's car keeps stalling and he didn't want to risk me stalling on my way to or from work. Plus it might ice over tonight again when it gets colder again. How are you holding up today? All of that is exactly the same here, lol.
Well, I went out walking to a pharmacy and a grocery store with my husband and a friend of the family. Well, on foot it usually takes 20-30 minutes go that far.
It took us two hours today!!
We had trees and power lines down on practically EVERY main road out of our neighborhood, so we had to take back roads, walk through people's yards, or run quickly around/ under broken branches to get anywhere. Because our city is built on hills, it took all three of us to pull one another up any of the hills (kinda short hills, actually), or to find our footing over puddles and ice (including a few cases of black ice). It was a teamwork effort to travel anywhere.
Power went out everywhere last night and this morning, but once again, did not affect us at home. The grocery store we went to (Bi Lo) was out of meat because it all went bad last night due to power outage. (Fortunately we didn't go there for the meat, lol.) Wal Mart and Kroger CLOSED because of transformers blowing and bad ice/ road conditions. Restaurants either didn't open because of losing power last night, or because of ice conditions, or they were packed with customers to the point where it was a two hour wait to get seated at a table. Any fast food places that opened had traffic wrapping around the buildings and at least three cars out into the street.
Our city's Christmas tree, which is located by the Bi Lo parking lot, lost several branches and the star got bent and sank partway down into the branches. Some bulldozers drove through and plowed the ice from the roads and obliterated all the reflectors (And shoved enormous amounts of ice/ snow clumps into the sidewalk, lol.) Trees and branches fell onto people's houses, and even took out a window of one house and a roof of another house. Traffic lights went out last night, some of them flickered off for a minute this afternoon, but came back on with no problems. Crosswalk buttons were frozen sealed, as were cars, mailboxes, etc.
And it was just raining ice from the trees, power lines, and billboards everywhere we went.
But lucky for us, we happened to live in the "safe bubble", lol, where nothing tragic happened at all. Even trees went down merely 20-30 feet away from our door and took out portions of the fence.
Our heater unit outside iced over, but we managed to thaw it without too much trouble, and it stayed toasty warm (or even nauseatingly hot) inside all night and this morning.
Also, we live in South Carolina in an area that rarely EVER gets this kind of weather! We don't always get snow every year, usually it is no more than an inch when it happens, but most times it doesn't even stick. Nobody drives with chains, or anything, so everybody was skidding in place when they tried to turn, climb a hill, stop, go. We had all the roads and sidewalks salted the other day, which I've only seen happen once or maybe twice before. (I've lived here for over 20 years.)
So yeah, overall the last couple of days have been an adventure. xd
