I saw a preview of the Third Watch episode for tonight, saw that it involved vampires, and decided to watch it. It was so incredibly insulting. The only accurate parts were the term "sanguinarian" and the fact that vampirism is not a choice, but something that we have to live with. It was horrible. The vampires were not only shown as all deluded, but *****, and the villians of the episode.

Did anyone else see this? Does anyone else have anything to say on this?

Oh, and the worst part is that my parents saw it. Any chance I might have had of coming out to them is now ruined. My mom actually told me that if I ever started to believe this, she'd lock me away.

I saw the preview for it, and that's why I decided NOT to watch it. The world always needs a scapegoat, and I figured this would just be another attempt at finding someone to label as monsters. Looks like I was right, unfortunately.

heh you got that right. Just seeing the previews for it alone is what kept me from wanting to actually watch it. There was just so much wrong in many wyas with the previews ti was jsut pitiful.

I think the big problem is that they were focusing on the Vamp posers and wanabees... those that follow the mythical portrayal of Vampires, and yet considering these to be the "real" ones.

They're just promoting ignorance. They are just as bad as commercials that tell young children that sex is the only thing that's good and that material goods will make you happy.

plus, they're promoting a stereotype, not bothering to change people's viewpoints in order to capitalize on their close-mindedness and make money.

It was horrible. All of the vampires in the club were sanguine, no psi, and they all had fangs. stare

Not to mention that the main vamp tried to kill her mom, and the other likes underage girls and tries to get at the cop's daughter. xp

If I could, I would make my computer the ultimate gaming device.

Problem is... I don't know exactly how to go about doing that with what I have. sweatdrop
(PS2 Emulators, anyone?)

Really... I don't want to watch TV anymore. There just... isn't anything worth it out there during the day. At night, I would rather be in my room. It's horrible when the best entertainment out there to watch is on the computer, or DVD.

I've come to the conclusion that almost everything aired on american television is dreck. Especially anything involving the occult, anything involving "reality tv," and any anime that american networks get their grubby hands on and dub.

Yep. I never watch TV. There's a lot of constructive things to do on the computer instead. btw, aarhus, It might be diffucult to get a PS2 emulator, but Stepmania allows you to play DDR on your PC.
