Together, bonded Forever, connected Through thick and thin Through right and wrong Never truly alone
The Star Watching Vampires of Gensokyo Yume Seresute, the Star Descending Vampire, stood in the mouth of the cave and looked at the brilliant, starry night sky. As per her habit, she had her yellow umbrella open over her shoulder. Yume loved the way the stars twinkled at night, as she could always see her partner's handiwork when she looked upon them. It was a very peaceful night; not a hint of wind, perfectly clear sky, and a beautiful full moon. Yume let out a sigh of relaxation, though her face did not look relaxed, but more-so in thought, which was also a sort of habit of hers. "If only Gensokyo could be this peaceful more often." Yume said to herself, enjoying the pure peace of the magical world as much as she could.

"Yes, that would be something, wouldn't it?"
Maruno Elipsie approached Yume from behind, her own trademark keepsake, a powerful polearm, leaned casually over one shoulder. Standing too at the mouth of the cave, her long and flowing cape billowed gently in the cool night breeze. The young-looking blonde woman had an incredibly regal and distinguished air about her, but even still, she smiled warmly to her fellow Vampiress.
"Is something troubling you, darling? You look... distant. Distressed. As if your thoughts wandered the planes of existence itself." The shape of her weapon, Umbra, changed, and its handle lengthened until it became more of a halberd. She plunged the shaft into the ground and leaned casually upon it, all the while gazing gently at Yume. Her smile was teasing and playful, denoting a lightheartedness that only Yume was allowed to see.

Yume jumped a little when her dearest came up behind her. She let out another sigh, seeing that it was just Maruno. Indeed, Yume could see Maruno's regal and distinguished look. She was used to it; it was always a welcomed sight.
Maruno noticed Yume's troubled look, to which Yume shook her head, a gentle smile on her normally hurt face. "Oh no, it's nothing." Yume told Maruno. "I guess that I've just become used to making that face a lot." She confessed, brushing her bangs with her hand. "I'll grow out of it eventually, I'm sure." Yume giggled.
Oh, she enjoyed seeing Maruno's looks, she certainly was perfect. "You know, I actually have been thinking of something." Yume said, holding up a finger as she did. "I've been pondering getting a new umbrella; this one is getting pretty old, and I'd hate for it to get ruined." Yume told her dearest. She closed her yellow umbrella and looked it over - it seemed to be in pretty good condition, but if someone else were to use it they would probably see what Yume was talking about... maybe... "What do you think? It would also take a trip into the village, but I'm sure that that will go over fine."

"I don't think you'll be 'growing' any time soon, darling~" Maruno jested, using a hand to pat the smaller girl's hair. She could be so adorable at times like this! After righting herself and returning to a much more refined upright position, she listened to her beloved as she mused over the condition of her parasol. She herself could not fathom anything wrong with the article, but presumed that Yume had sentimental reasons.
"Naturally, darling, one of your caliber and refinement would want nothing but the best for herself! As is our right," she said, nearly preaching. Maruno was very, very proud to be a vampire. "But do you really consider anything of the human village to be of worth? Terrible place, it is, filled with commoners and," she made a face, "Farm folk. The uncivil and unrefined... Surely nothing there would suit a Lady like yourself~"
"But, if that is what you wish, then we shall plan a trip for the village tomorrow. It will be... difficult," a finger touched her chin, "We will need protection from the sun. I believe the human merchants open and close while the sun still shines brightly in the sky, lest you prefer a gander at those seedier shops that only roll out their wares at night~"

Yume's face turned a shade of red as Maruno hinted at her small bust. "T-that's out of the question!" Yume snapped at her dearest. Yume puffed out her cheeks a little and held her fists at her sides, letting out a bit of steam. Only Maruno could get under her skin like this.
Maruno told Yume that she deserved the best, and that it was their right. "I completely agree, it is and shall always be our right." Yume agreed, adjusting herself as to gain a more mature posture, after her little scene. "And true, it is a rather unclean land, and it is unfitting of beings of our caliber." Yume added. The vampiress looked at the bright moon, giving her a sort of emotionally deep look. "But, I'm sure their creations are carefully and gracefully assembled, with care and passion." Yume sigh internally; she sounded so corny.
Maruno already started planning for their adventure, telling Yume that they needed some sun-protectors, lest she wanted to visit the sneakier stores. Yume let out a small snort of sorts. "Hmph. That could be just as much a risk as walking in daylight." She said. "Besides, the locals probably need to be graced with sights of perfection by now, wouldn't you think?" Yume asked her partner, giving her a look with a sly-looking touch to it.

Maruno chuckled, "I believe you are right, my dear. Have you any ideas how to pull this off?" My, Yume certainly looked adorable when she was annoyed! It brought a smile to Maruno's lips.
She took a few grand strides out of the cave's mouth, bathing in the moonlight that flooded the valley. "The wretched sun would blacken our skin, and sap away our powers. I, for one, quite adore my gleaming complexion... so something must be done about this." With pride, Maruno stamped Umbra - which had now formed into a spear - into the ground. A few select stars above her began to shine brightly, adding a dazzling view. "Have ye any ideas, darling of mine?" She walked back to Yume, hips swaying with each step. "I'd hate to see your pretty face put to ruin~" As she spoke, she ran a finger under Yume's chin, tugging her gaze upward while Maruno looked down, meeting her eyes, and smiling to her with full lips.

How to pull this off? Indeed, that would not be an easy task. But it would not necessarily be a hard one either. "Well, I'm sure this umbrella could go for one last use before it retires, and then we just have to find another in the house for yourself." Yume said, figuring out how their outing would work without the two coming in contact with the sun's harmful rays.
Maruno did have a gleaming complexion. Yume could not, nor would she ever, deny it. "I adore it as well, my sweet." Yume told Maruno. "Perhaps it will even be cloudy tomorrow. It would hardly take a miracle for that to happen." The smaller vampire said. She looked to the stars as Maruno caused a few to shine brightly. Yume could easily make any star fall just to make a wish for a cloudy day.
Maruno walked back towards Yume, swaying the body she had as she did so. Maruno told her how she'd hate for her face to be ruined, putting her finger under Yume's chin and pulling her gaze upwards as she did. They locked eyes, and Maruno smiled. Yume's face caught a small pinch of a blush as this event unfolded. She stared into Maruno's eyes, touching her hand to Maruno's cheek. "I'd never let anything happen that would displease you, my love." Yume said. She loved close moments like this. She missed these moments, as well as more moments with Maruno when she was gone. "Maybe if we're lucky enough, that other vampiress will try to "rule Gensokyo" once more tomorrow." Yume said, with a giggle. That was a memory Yume held in fond regards, since it was a moment when she and Maruno were close yet again.
((Why am I so d*mn horrible?! D8 ))
