So, I joined a gym on Tuesday, and went for a training session yesterday. I've updated this first entry becasue I was WAY off with my weight. I'm far heavier than the scale at Danni's house says I am, and I'm going to go by the scales at the gym from now on. I feel pretty good about the program that I was put on; even if I can only do cardio three times a week I'll be happy and well on my way. But I'm going to try to get in weight training at least a couple times a week, and will probably wind up picking up some free weights to use around the house this weekend.

That's weird.. it shows up as a Red-X unless I copy the image url from properties and paste it in that way. Then I click back and it's there.. until I refresh! Then it's a red-x again. No idea!

No, I get mine for free. Maybe they have some bars that you can payfor to get extra features?

If you need help, PM me!

Okay, so I'm not posting a weight update this week. I weigh in once a week at Danni's because I know her mother's scale is accurate. However, when I weighed in on Saturday morning, I had gained all the weight back! I deffinitely didn't think that I had been THAT bad last week!

Anyway, despite that, I was going to update my weight until last night and I found out that the gain is all water weight! That makes me incredibly happy. So I'll wait till Saturday when the bloat will be gone and count from my last weigh-in.

I also joined a gym today. They offer a lot of free classes as well as one free training/facility introduction. I'll probably go for my training on Wednesday since I already have plans made for tomorrow. The gym will really help with toning and losing weight. But mostly toning, which I need in a BAD way.

I'm glad you joined a gym!! That's a great beginning. 3nodding

I hate water weight and monthly bloating and even all the changes throughout the day, morning to night. And I don't trust scales because home scales always seem to be 4 or 5 pounds lighter than doctor scales, and the fluctuations never reflect how I feel or look. And I keep getting told by my chiropractor "have you lost weight lately? It looks like you've lost weight!" while the scale never changes, or just has its wild daily fluctuations. I think it's mostly how much water is in the face that people judge by, which really isn't a good judge at all! I notice comments by a lot of people saying someone's gained weight or lost weight when it's NOTHING about their body but all about the water weight in the face. rolleyes

Yesterday I was looking through Danni's Weight Watcers booklet, and saw the "Core" option. With this program, instead of counting everything you eat by certain points, you have a list of foods that you can eat as much as you want of (fruits, veggies, wheat pastas, etc), and 35 weekly point to "cheat" with bread/sugar/etc. Heck, fat-free milk and diet sodas and coffee (with fat-free milk and sugar substitute--that I already do!) are free! I really think that this is a program that I can do on my own and STICK to. The points is jsut way too hard since I can't afford special food or a scale or anything like taht.

that does sound like a sensible option, the strictness of some diets are often a big stumbling block i think, finding something that's easy to stick to is really the best way to try and succeed 3nodding

Exactlly. I just wanted a means of healthy eating without measuring and counting and whatnot. There are dozens of "free" items, that I can eat without guilt. And everything else is on a points system, and I get 35/week--more with regular exercise. Here's hoping!

First of all, I don't have a food scale. You don't need one. I can't do the core plan because it's to easy for me to get out of control. I have to do the flex plan and count my points daily.
