Hello!
I'm here to see if I can find some new people to talk to and get to know.
I'm Jo and I'm 26, temporarily living in England to go to school. Studying for my master's degree, as awful as that sounds and is, in Funerary Archaeology which is dead people and burials and bones and such and will soon be writing a dissertation on not very interesting stuff.

Now that you're all asleep, I'll tell you the things I like when I'm not in class, overdosing on coffee, procrastinating or sleeping.
I like cats, but I can't hug every cat ):, I also like Japanese language and culture, and though I've seen a good bunch of Anime and liked them, I can't really say I actively watch them just because I don't want to devote the time. J-dramas are nice too and I've cried over a few of those in the past and loved it. I also like videogames like Zelda and Harvest Moon and Animal Crossing and Mario Kart but I can't play lately. I really like Lord of the Rings and I know too much about it and have a tendency to quote the films in daily life, which is pretty cool if you know what I'm on about.
I'm really into hiking, exercising, and weight lifting and staying in shape. I exercise at least 30 minutes a day 6 days per week and it's part of my lifestyle and a habit and I get grumpy if I don't get my workout in. It's depressing because 95% of people I meet don't exercise at all, but I do it for health reasons and because I truly enjoy setting goals and challenging myself and having awesomer biceps than some of the boys I know. I like to venture out into the wilderness and climb on mountains and get dusty and dream of climbing a glacier one day even though I really hate snow and ice.
I want to travel and have already been to Japan and England and of course 'Merica (my homeland is in the sweltering Arizona desert).
I want to go to Peru and Norway and Switzerland and Italy and China and back to Japan one day.
My ultimate and probably unlikely dream is to go to Kyoto and never leave, and my future probably involves being a teacher of some sort (because Archaeology is not a real job ok...) and living with my cats who are named after Studio Ghibli characters (I love Kiki's Delivery Service and Princess Mononoke!) and hopefully finding someone who will put up with my eccentricities and let me dote on and cherish them like a princess!

I was in an impressively good mood while writing this, so hopefully my cheerfulness can be noticed! C'mere! xd

I'm keeping busy and more busy is looming but I feel cheerful lately.
I think Spring may be on the way soon...maybe, I don't understand England weather. There are some snowdrop flowers blooming though, and other yellow things, so I'm hoping spring = less rain...but probably not.

Generally things do turn out alright, or you find a way to make it that way.
^ ^ Hopefully things will work out for the best. I've managed to survive some awful crap, so I'll send some fighting thoughts.

As for tea, I've found one called Iron Buddha. I think it's just an oolong or something, I've forgotten already, but it's nice.

I'm tired too, so I don't know what else to say.
it was 100% Monday today. Had a seminar that failed and was boring, then had a class that taught us how to search for sources in databases and stuff. We are masters students...WE KNOW DIS.

It's a MSc in Human Osteology and Funerary Archaeology.
It's been really medical actually, last semester we had to do dissection (hopefully that doesn't bother you to think of! *gives tea if it does*) which wasn't actually bad at all...but my teacher hated me because I didn't participate much haha. And we had to learn osteology (name all the bones and parts of bones and identify them even if they're in pieces - I hate clavicles btw, can never remember the muscle attachments )| ) And this semester is much better, but still doing biological antrhopology which is all about looking at the bones and figuring out how tall the person was and how old they were and what sex they were and if that bone porosity is just an infection or scurvy...which maybe is what I'll find out today. It's interesting, but I'm not sure how exactly I'll apply it unless I work in forensics or in a country where you are allowed to dig people up in archaeology. At least where I was in America they did mostly cremations (those are annoying btw) and the Native Americans really don't want you to mess with their ancestors. So I don't know what to do. I originally applied and came here because I do like it, and I know that learning Japanese isn't going to get me a real job, but after being here, that dang language really is my true passion....I could be a teacher. My japanese sensei was my favorite person/teacher ever...I could be that for someone else and help someone learn something awesome....then they won't be able to get a real job lol. But I'm rambling and I have to get ready to go but I just want to go back to sleep.

Yeah, I've never been interested in anything that pays decently, so I just picked something and learned to save money and budget and only buy what I need and I don't really want or need anything. I prefer living in smaller rooms too and have never wanted a house or anything like that. I hate maintaining stuff.
I have a TEFL certificate so I could go teach. I almost did, but I didn't trust the company so I stopped it. They kept changing what they'd originally said during interviews and I'd already lost a ton of money and wasn't willing to get trapped or lose more than that so I bailed.
Well that sounds good at least you'll get some work experience, volunteering counts and they like when you do that it seems...I couldn't even pass pre-calculus aha!
Eew. creepy class people are the worst. I thought my class today endd at 4pm but it went until 5. So annoying and I kept almost going to sleep. Rude.
Hopefully you're day was survivable though, it's dinner time for me and I'm forgetting all about being healthy and eating some pineapple pizza because I don't care about anything!

Yah. Africa doesn't seem hight on the places to visit list. I remember my sister wanted to go, and my Aunt has been to Morocco and I think Zambia.
Ugh. My sister had someone stalking her a bit so she called the police aha.

And my pizza was gross, sadly. xD But the pineapple part was great.
My flatmate and I had to write angry messages and post them on the kitchen door because we're both missing kitchen items. We've been here together for 7 months now I think, and NEVER have had a problem with people eating our food or taking stuff, but all of a sudden her measuring cup is gone and THE ONE PLATE I HAVE is gone. It was in the dish drainer, so I didn't lose a plate. Also, I bought vegetarian sausages, and unless I bought the package already opened, someone hijacked one of those too. The only thing that has changed is a new guy moved in. He seems friendly and polite, though he totally keeps to himself. He better watch out if he's the one using stuff that isn't his though. I will destroy him. I'm really annoyed. Someone used my teatowel the other day too and just left it on the counter...eeew.
Anyway, I got nothing done today, so I'm just sitting here drinking tea until 11pm comes around, then I'll go read or something. xD It's too late to do work.

It was really cheap pizza. xD It was like.............actually it wasn't cheap, it was around 4 pounds...and i can get a really good pizza for 3 but I didn't think to do it.

Someone sent me a thing where you get 3? free samples/tea bags from a fancy website, so I'll have a coffee tea and a hot chocolate tea coming soon, which sounds weird and I don't know what those are. D: One good thing about England is that tea is common and people actually drink it, so you can find coupons and stuff for it. OOOOOoooooo~~
