oh my well comics being the best form of super hero stories, yes even better than manga, have a great way of making you connect to the character. For example my fav super hero spider man has one of the most connectable characters there are. Imagine (thinking logically) how would you act if you had super powers, Wellat first he though hey i can make money, But that didnt seem like the right way to use his power, thus enters the famous saying with great power come great responsibilities (said by uncle ben the day before he died) . So peter parker turned to a life heroism. Another reason why i like him is because when he puts on the mask he is no longer the nerd people expect him to be, he lets go and turns into the care free hero hes always wanted to be and that my dear is my favorite hero,

I would like to comment on your catwoman remark,
That relationship actually is fairly recent and the only reason its there is because people actually though batman was gay. it happened late 80s early 90s.

bleh movies discrace comics usually. the marvel reboots are nice but not entirely accurate they are based off of my fav univers, the ultimates.
