My scanner doesn't work so well, so I can no longer sell my hand-drawn avi art on Gaia until I replace it. >.<
In the meantime, I decided to try something relatively new to me, which is full-digital art. This is completely drawn from scratch using a mouse on Paint (mostly using the curve tool), and colored in Photoshop.
It is not avi art, it's just a random generic anime girl I came up with. It took me about three hours to complete. It's a fairly simple style with no shading, but I'll probably shade others.
Care to tell me what you think it might be worth? I'm considering doing some avi art in this style.
(Note: Please do not ask me to rate back. I've been out of the art forums for quite a while, and since inflation hit, I have no idea what art is worth nowadays. If I did, I wouldn't be asking about my own. xd )

Oh! She is so cute!
Unfortunately, I'm in the same situation too. xD I'm not even sure how to price art anymore with this ridiculous inflation. I'd say your best bet is to make a bribe/offer shop in the art shop subforum.

Do Not Judge. ''You don't know what storm I was about to say the same thing. Since this economy thing hit there really is no telling. Have you tried looking into posting it on the forums, maybe? If it were me, just by glancing from experience, I would expect 10-15k for that one. *shrugs* I hope that helps. I've asked her to go through.'' ~God

I'm going to have to do something to improve my digital art. I've never sold art for less than 20-30k, and that was in '09/ '10/ '11. Although to be fair, more recently I did offers for chibis at around 10k, though I ended up not able to finish them. crying (If I ever either get the scanner replaced or get better at digital, I'm giving those particular ones to their respective owners for free. There's no sense in making them pay after waiting so long. ^^; ) Anyway, thanks for your opinion. That is literally my first serious attempt at digital art, not counting some pixel art I did back in high school. (Actually, it was really good pixel art; too bad I lost the computer they were on.) Some people seem to accept art even if it's photographed, instead of scanned. I wonder if I can sell sketches that way. Any idea what those would be worth if they were drawn in roughly this style (uncolored)?

I think it would be best if you scanned it or drew it digitally than photograph it. People pay a lot more if it's scanned than having the art photographed. Plus, it just looks better, ya know. c:
I think you can rack up a lot if you tried your Sailor Moon style. But I'm not sure what kind of style people like these days. You could just offer both types of styles and see what they want. o uo

How do you draw digitally anyways? Do you have a tablet?

With a mouse. In Paint. Mostly using the curve tool. neutral I canNOT draw lines in Photoshop. I don't know if it's because I'm doing something wrong (I've looked up dozens of tutorials and I SWEAR I'm following all the steps correctly), or maybe my copy or the computer is glitched (wouldn't surprise me in the least), but I just can't get it to work for me. Or maybe I really AM doing it wrong. xp

Aww, don't worry. I could never figure out how to use the line tool in Photoshop either. Have you tried using Paint Tool Sai? The line tool is pretty easy to use, but you'd have to use it on the "Linework Layer."

A lot of the functions that Photoshop has that GIMP doesn't have (or uses better) I tend to rely on kinda heavily. XP I do use GIMP from time to time though. Not completely ignored, just not my favorite.

I don't know if it was my computer or the version I downloaded at the time, but it was very slow and lagged for me. So I just gave up on it. I do like Photoshop better since I've gotten used to it when I took my Graphics I and II class. xD
