 She was on a mission. One that was a daily occurrence for her. The little nixquilicorn swam close to the beachfront of the waterway she was currently exploring. It wasn't her home, but it was exciting all the same! When she found nothing of interest, she scrambled out and would travel by land until she jumped into a new waterway. She giggled and splashed around, excitement only growing when she spotted something shiny. A necklace it looked like! "Awesome!" She squeaked and paddled over to it. The necklace seemed to have snagged itself on a tree branch.
"I get y'now!" She snickered, tugging on it until the branch gave it up. Which was comical when the little nixquilicorn went tumbling backwards right into the water again. But at least she had the necklace! Laughing, she wiggled around until she managed to get the necklace around her neck before she started on her way again.
Feeling a bit tired as a big yawn stretched her cheeks, Teagan realized she'd... traveled quite a ways from her home. She had never been this far! But her little legs were tired and she needed a place to rest. Frowning, the nixquilicorn walked a little ways more, catching glimpse of what looked like another water source. Except bigger. Like... a lake! It was a lake! Tail wagging slightly in glee, Teagan raced to the water and launched herself into it. Twisting and spinning around she let the water soak into her coat before climbing back out to curl up beside a large rock that provided some shade for her.

 It was nice to just...relax. He hadn't done that for a bit; as of late, Marion had been traveling, moving around, trying to find some new, exciting places and people. Something more than the lake he grew up in.
Yet here he was, right back where he started. Part of him wanted to bop himself on the head. So much for so little. So much for pretty much nothing. But another part of him was just happy to be home. It wasn't going to be for very long, of course, but it was comforting to see his parents again.
The little sister, on the other hand...well...he had to admit he didn't see that one coming. Talk about rambunctious. He wasn't sure which side of the family she possibly got all that energy from; he and his sisters sure had been active foals themselves, but were they that crazy? That...annoying? Kids were weird. Or maybe he was just old.
His tail flicked as he groaned at the thought. He didn't want to be old yet! There was so much left to do! Or, at least...there should be. Probably. ...Hopefully.
Something was off, splashing not too far away. More likely than not, it was his kid sister being obnoxious. Though, he had to admit, he couldn't really blame her for splashing around like a git. Marion himself loved making a lot of noise when he was little, and if he had wings, he'd scare the living bejeesus out of all the fish if he could, too.
He hopped off his own rock to see what the heck was going on. The splashing had stopped, but he hadn't heard anything dive...
Rounding a corner, something dark but spotted brightly caught his eye. Was this little thing what was making all that ruckus? And here he thought Sonata was a shrimp!
"Hey, kid, where're your parents? You lost?" His father hadn't mentioned anything about anyone new moving in around the lake...he surely would've mentioned something if they were little things like this child he was tilting his head at.

Her little nose was just starting to tuck under the fins on her tail, eyes drooping closed when she heard something. An ear twisted towards the sound followed by someone talking and Teagan was suddenly on her feet. She blinked up at the soq that had been talking, surprised that he wasn't as tall as that other one. The annoying one. "I ain't lost!" She huffed, trying to look bigger than she actually was. "And my dad's back home." She added, admitting she was alone without thinking.
Taking a moment to actually look the stallion over, her head tilted and a frown formed. Clearly she was thinking awfully hard about something. "Hows come yer so little?" She asked, head canted to the side curiously.
Never mind the fact that she was a tiny nixquilicorn asking! But Noxious had been much bigger so... this one must be really short! The thought made her giggle.

It sure was a spunky child, with a lot more bite to her than his own baby sister. Marion was amused by her initial reaction. In the kind of d'aww-children-acting-like-huffy-adults kind of way. And was she trying to puff up and look intimidating? How adorable.
"So you'll get lost eventually, huh?" he commented in a dry tone.
Rion's froze up when the little thing pointed out his own height, or lack thereof. How could a baby nixie of all things see it? Was it that obvious? "I dunno, why're you so nosy? I'm bigger than you'll ever hope to be anyways, small fry." he snorted. "I dunno what you're laughing about. I bet my hoof's larger than your head, easy." Even if he was...compact...for his breed, his sharp teeth flashed whenever he opened his mouth, and his slitted eyes were rather alien to look at. Not very mammalian eyes at all.
His tail was already lashing. The filly obviously struck a major cord.

Teagan snorted at the short adult. She wouldn't get lost! She... knew which way was home. Or she'd figure it out. "No I won't!" She argued, stamping her little hoof. "I know my way 'round!" Mostly.
She giggled again. "I ain't nosy! I ask questions." Because that was totally a big difference. "How else are ya 'posed to get answers?" He did have a point, though. He was bigger than her. Not that this had ever stopped her. Like stupid Noxious. He was bigger but she was better. "So you is short!" Teagan laughed, little tail wagging. Except for being called small fry. That made her ears flatten and a frown slash pout form. "Nuh uh! Yer hoof is small."
The filly started walking around the bigger Soq, looking at him curiously, little ears perking back up. He may have been small, but he was strange looking. Different than her. But similar too. "What are ya?" She asked in that childish curiosity. "I ain't seen anyone likes you. Can you swim? Is this yer home?" She watched his tail lash behind him, avoiding that part of him.
Coming back to stand in front of him, Teagan looked up at him expectantly, because questions required answers.
