What, to you, is the best all around counterspell in the entire game (including counterspell).
My vote is a toss up between Force of Will and Absorb.

Counterspell is probably the best and the most versatile.
Force of Will is good, but it's not always nice to lose a card and 1 life.
In my opinion, Undermine is better than Absorb.
Anyways, my vote is for either Counterspell or Mana Drain, take your pick. wink

I guess absorb and undermine are a personal choice...I always prefer life gain. But thats just me.

Legendary_ONE Counterspell is probably the best and the most versatile. Force of Will is good, but it's not always nice to lose a card and 1 life. In my opinion, Undermine is better than Absorb. Anyways, my vote is for either Counterspell or Mana Drain, take your pick. wink its good if you can use it right plus if youre facing combo its great for those 1st turn spells that you dont want out there...

Mana Drain. That is a better version of Mana Leak?
As for me, I'd have to go with counterspell or condescend (Scry 2 is very special to me)

Seems like someone got himself confused here:  As you can see, Mana Drain is totally different from Mana Leak, as it adds the mana of the spell it counters to your mana pool at the beginning of your next main phrase. Sometimes Mana Drain is used by people to play Mophling on their third turn. xd

For the formats it's legal in, it's definetely all about the all-purpose original Counterspell. 3nodding
Barring that, Mana Leak and such are pretty good.

Same goes for Induce paranoia.
True, you get to discard cards from your opponent's deck (Especially with that autochithon wurm running around) but 2 blues and 1-2 black for it? I think not!

Variant_Theory i'm suprised no one mentioned last word. the uncounterable counterspell. one problem if someone last words or something in a counter war...you just counter the original spell again while its on the stack

id have to say rewind, purely for the fact that it works with so much els.
anything before those turns i would say force of will or daze. im also a fan of power sink, just because its more versatile and your aponent looses their mana if they dont pay the X.
in order id say
1 rewind
2 force of will
3 power sink
4 daze
