Plot and Setting~ [map without text] Welcome to the world of Malkresh!Malkresh is a rather large world, which is divided into six different provinces, with a capital in each. It is placed on what seems to be a floating continent - or, rather, two major continents with a couple of small ones on the side - in the middle of a universe. There are no clear blue skies, as the universe surrounding Malkresh is visible at all times, be it day or night, and yet no one is capable of leaving the continents. There are ways to travel from one continent to the other, but the steamdriven airships used for such purposes can't travel too far away from the continents without just.. Falling to pieces. It's as if there's some kind of barrier surrounding Malkresh, making sure that no one ever leaves it.
Are you one of the thousands upon thousands of inhabitants living in Malkresh? Or are you an unfortunate traveler that has found your way there, and is now unable to leave? Or....?
OOC In Malkresh, there are very few rules to follow, so a GM is not really necessary. Most of the RP will follow the players, and it will be up to them to draw lines and set the ground rules. This is a very large world, with quite a lot of different settings, so it should have a little something for every taste. All in all, Malkresh is meant to be the more fun and easy going RP in the bunch, where more or less anything is allowed. However, if the need arises, KeyJester can step in as the GM and settle issues.

The Agrath Province ~
The main province that rules all of Malkresh is the Agrath Province. It's found to the east on the main continent, and is in general a highly developed province of advanced technology.
Agrath is the capital city of the Agrath province, and thus also the capital city of all of Malkresh. The city is highly technologically advanced, in every way, and is home to a lot of inventors and brilliant scientists looking to make a name. The city also holds several academies, as well as various research facilities. Most of the inhabitants are humans, or various alien species of unknown origin, and they make their homes in large skyscrapers, using hovering cars to get from place to place. Just north of Agrath, on top of a floating isle, one can find the Castle Agar, where the ruler of Malkresh lives. The isle is connected to Agrath through an extremely long cable that holds a very advanced cablecar, and the trip up there takes several hours. However, no one is allowed to travel up there, unless the ruler has personally allowed it.
Northwest of Agrath is the city of Sali, a city of nomads and gypsies. Airhips leave Sali hourly, taking people to the city of Estra, on the Helmrad Province to the north of the main continent, and many of the inhabitants of Sali has family in Estra. To the south is the city of Garmel, a quiet human town of moderate technology, where airships take people to the continent to the south where the Pelio province can be found. In the middle of the province is the city of Edinohr, a city of advanced elves that has learned to take advantage of technology on a whole new level by merging with machines. Far to the west is the port of Rathal, a bustling port town with an overflow of merchants, where ships can take you across the dangerous Sea of Malkar to the Einor province in the west.
In the middle of the province is also one of the Fae Woods, home to faries, sprites and pixies. Rumour has it that the inhabitants there can transport you directly to Faeland through the use of advanced magics.
OOC Notes This is the most technically advanced province, and the capital in particular is a typical sci-fi kind of city. It's gigantic, have massive skyscrapers, and horrible slums, and aliens and whatnot. Anything a sci-fi lover can desire~ All the inhabitants of this province are very familiar with technology of various kinds, as most of them are way more advanced than us lowly earthlings.

The Moldaran Province ~
Found on the north-west end of the main continent, and cut off from the Einor Province to the south-east by the Karesh Mountain Range, is the Moldaran Province. Despite its size, the province have no cities, and the only society that can be found is Faeland - a forest of fairies, pixies, sprites and various elven and fey races. Faeland is found in the western parts of the province, and it's actually one of the largest societies in all of Malkresh. Though the entire forest is a part of Faeland, the main part is the giant Mana Tree in the scenter where housings and shops have been molded from the trunk of the tree itself.
To the north lies the ruins of a massive town named Moldaran. In ancient times, this was the main capital of Malkresh as a whole, and it was said that they had ties to other worlds through massive portals. It's been nearly a thousand years since the city fell, and now no one even knows what happened to it. It is said, however, that there is a way to travel to the ruins of an ancient castle that no one is capable of reaching, and that it can be found in Moldaran. These ancient ruins are said to hold some deep dark secret about Malkresh...
There is a floating isle hovering above the plains to the north-west in the Moldaran province. But, the isle is shrouded by clouds, and no one has been able to reach up there to see what the clouds hide, as no airships seems capable of flying that high, and there are no winged creatures in all of Malkresh that can reach those heights either.
What secrets can be found within this province that has yet to be discovered by the rest of the world...?
NPCs
~ Melody Brownleaf
"He~y! Welcome to the scenter of Faeland - the Mana Tree!"
Looking up, you see a very energetic fairy waving at you from a branch above you.
"Heehee~ I'm Melody! If you need any help, just let me know! I know everything about the Mana Tree!"
OOC Notes This is the one place where there are no real rules or settings. You can do whatever you want to! Build yourself a house here, or an entire town as your own personal RP setting - Anything goes! The only place where there are any kind of rules is within Faeland - which is a typical magical forest - and the ruins of Moldaran. Aside from those places, you can do whatever you want. Just have fun~

The Einor Province ~
Slighty to the west in Malkresh is where you'll find the Einor Province. It borders to the Moldaran Province through the Karesh Mountain range in the west, and the Agrath Province across the Seas of Malkar to the east. The Einor Province is well known to be the home of farmers, as there are numerous farms scattered all around the province with vast farming lands. This is also the most friendly of all the provinces, both when it comes to the inhabitants, as well as creatures. You don't have to fear coming to harm while in the Einor Province.
To the north, with it's back against the Karesh Mountain Range, lies the city of Einor, the capital of the province. Though not as large as the other capitals, the city is a bustling city of farmers and traders, and a great place for pendling merchants. If you're looking for something in particular, this would be the best place to search, cause chances are that you will definitely find it here. The Einor Market is the largest in all of Malkresh, and it's known for being the one place you can find pretty much anything and everything.
To the south lies the city of Albram, a quiet mountain village, where airships leave hourly to take people to the Elgrat province south of the main continent. The entire area around Albrams is locked in eternal winter, due to being so close to the province of Elgrat, and is a popular place to go skiing if you cannot afford the trip down south. If one want to cross the Seas of Malkar to go to the Agrath province to the east, then the city of Nirad is the place to seek out. In this quiet port town, ships leave hourly to cross the sea, though the journey is one that is far from safe. The sea is a dangerous place, filled with dangerous sea-creatures.
The Karesh Mountain Range in the west, north-west part of the province is large and nearly impossible to cross. There are only two paths leading through the mountains, and neither are said to be safe.
OOC Notes This province is probably the most casual province of them all. Mostly there are farmers and simple folk found here, living in a semi-modern society. It's a great place for just casual RPing. Want to play house? This would be the perfect place to do so, as this is a great place to settle down, get married, and have a bunch of kids~

The Helmrad Province ~
To the north of the main continent, on a continent of its own, is the Helmrad Province. The entire province is known as a place people rarely visit, as it's entirely made up of deserts, wastelands, and swamps, making it the most dangerous province of them all. To the north lies the city of Helmrad, the capital of the province, and a city that thrives on steam taken from a massive vulcano to the east. The steam-driven airships found all around Melkrash are all built in Helmrad, as it is the only city with the knowledge on how to take advantage of the steam in such a way. The scenter of the city houses a large factory that doubles as the building where the city officials can be found. Most of the inhabitants are builders and mechanics, and knowing how gears work is common knowledge, even for a kid.
To the south is the city of Estra, a city that was built by gypsies, which connects the province to the main continent by airships. The people are supposedly very friendly, but the place is known for its many thieves and scoundrels. It's within Estra you can find the Guild of Thieves that every thief in Malkresh with any self-worth is a member of.
A bit to the north of Estra is an ancient pyramid, but no one has any idea how it got there, as there are no records of it being built. It's as if it, one day, just appeared out of nowhere.
The Deetral Tower in the swamplands to the east is completely overrun by the elements. No one knows what it once held, or what can be found there now, cause few, if any, dare venture through the swamplands. The creatures said to be lurking there are horrid and deadly, at best.
OOC Notes The Helmrad Province is a very typical steampunk genre kind of place. Helmrad City, in particular is a heavily steampunk inspired town in every possible way, so this is the place for all you steampunk lovers! The swamplands are deadly. Deadly! A place only for seasoned adventurers. ;p

The Elgrat Province ~
Found far to the south-west in Malkresh, on a continent of its own, is the cold Elgrat Province. The entire province is a place of eternal winter, and it is the third largest continent in all of Malkresh. The capital of the province is the city of Elgrat, which is a large city with quite advanced technology. Despite the ever-lasting cold, the people of Elgrat are happy and friendly people that loves visitors. The mountain bordering the city is a well known place to visit for some vacation skiing and romantic getaways.
The city connecting the province with the main continent is Sodor, and is found to the north. In Sodor, there are airships that transports people to the city of Albram in the Einor province to the north, and there are hourly departures and arrivals. All the inhabitants of Sodor are giant felines on two legs - on average about 3 metres tall - but despite their scary appearance they are quite friendly and loveable. They are also extremely intelligent and clever, and has learned to make quite the profit from their "haircuts" by making cloth out of their own fur and selling it. The cloth is of excellent quality, and it's guaranteed to keep you warm no matter how cold it gets.
To the far east in the province is the city of Scaliit, home to a race of rat-like creatures. People tend to stay away from this town, in fear of the inhabitants, not trusting them due to their appearance, but the people there are actually quite nice. They have festivals several times a year, for no other reason than an excuse to have fun and decorate the town with pretty lights. Scaliit is not as advanced as most other towns, as they don't even have electricity there, but the inhabitants don't seem bothered by it. They know their way around technology, but has simply chosen to live without it, as well as without any kind of magic.
OOC Notes Do you want to build a snowman? This province is the best place to go mountain climbing, skiing or ice-skating. The towns here are modern, like our own, and generally very casual.

The Pelio Province ~
In the far south-east of Malkresh is the continent of the Pelio Province - the smallest known province in all of Malkresh The capital is named Pelio, and is really nothing more than a small village, as well as the only village on this continent. It is not a place of technology and wonder, but it's a place that draws in mystics from all over Malkresh. The entire province seems to be filled with strange magic, and Pelio itself is a village of highly skilled mages dabbling in the arts of dark and white magic. It is a perfect place for anyone wishing to learn more of the arcane arts.
The Fae Woods that can be found just to the east of the village is filled with magical creatures that makes faries seem ordinary, and it's a place that is known for making people disappear. Many whom have ventured into these magical woods have never been seen again, and not even the fairies living there seems to be able to explain what has happened to them. The woods are, indeed, a mysterious place.
To the south-west in the province is Mt. Pelio, a tall mountain that is larger than any other mountain in all of Malkresh. Rumour has it that an ancient and powerful creature slumbers within...
OOC Notes This is the most magical of all provinces, and the village Pelio is your typical fantasy game village - in true classic Final Fantasy style. It's the perfect place for elves and mages and whatnot, or non-magic believers to get scarred for life. And the mountain to the south-east is home to a slightly temperamental dragon.
