PERSONALITY
Likes: Learning about history and folklore, poetry, tea ceremonies, soft, pleasing colors (especially blue), swimming, Korean barbeque, strict schedules, rules and codes of conduct, cleanliness Dislikes: Laziness, unnecessary violence, disrespect, tardiness, rule breakers, the smell of smoke, disloyalty Hobbies: Reading and writing, cooking, meditating, striving for perfection. Fears: Failure, bringing dishonor to the Satori name. Nindo: “To bring honor and glory to the Satori name.” Extra: Unmei’s more conservative and traditionalist personality may rub people the wrong way. Because of his upbringing, he expects a lot from others. He can come across as cold and very demanding of the people around him. Unmei is a perfectionist. He will work without rest until he has completed the task at hand as perfectly as possible. He is obsessed with rules and traditions. To Unmei, bringing dishonor to his family would be a fate worse than death. Fatal Flaw: He is never satisfied until something is done perfectly, and will blame himself if anything goes wrong. Unmei keeps his distance from most people, and does not easily open up to people. He shoulders a tremendous amount of self-doubt that he buries deep within himself.
HISTORY
Birthplace: Sanctum Angelis Birth Date: 10/3 Family:
Keiken Satori (Keiken the Disappointed): The patriarch of the Satori family. As both the leader of the clan and as a father, he is harsh and demanding. He cares only for what he believes will bring glory to the Satori family. All else is pointless frivolity. Keiken views knowledge and tradition as the ultimate source of honor. Second to these is strength. Because of his cold nature, one might believe Keiken to be a violent man. On the contrary, to him senseless violence is despicable.
Hiyori Satori (Hiyori the Loving): Unlike her husband, Hiyori is a very warm person. Despite sharing Keiken’s goals and her adherence to the clan’s beliefs, she does not share her husbands fervor and disagrees with some of his methods. She may appear frail in comparison to other ninja, but rest assured she is a formidable fighter.
Jihi Satori (Jihi the Fearless): Unmei’s eldest brother and first heir of the Satori clan. Of the five brothers, Jihi is the most like his father. Despite their similarities, Jihi’s method of teaching is far more forgiving and patient than his father’s. Because of this, Unmei prefers to train with Jihi. While Jihi is able to empathize with his younger brothers, having experienced the stress of growing up as a child of the Satori, he views his father’s methods as necessary to achieve the clan’s ultimate goals.
Chishiki Satori (Chishiki the Humble): The most intelligent of the five brothers. He spends his days reading and studying. He has studied his entire life to be an advisor to the less academically inclined Jihi when he takes over leadership of the clan. Unmei enjoys spending time with Chishiki learning all he can from him.
Nintai Satori and Seijitsu Satori (The Unwanted): The youngest of the brothers. Nintai and Seijitsu are practically inseparable. It is nearly impossible to tell them apart. Not only are they identical physically, but they both share a love of practical jokes and an odd, and sometimes eerie, silent nature. Nintai was born with a lightning elemental chakra nature, while Seijitsu was born with an affinity for fire. Because of this, they cannot learn the Satori clan’s techniques, and are seen as lesser than the other brother’s by their father.
Kekkei Genkai: None
Life's story: The life of a genius is never a life of ease, especially when that genius is a Satori. From a young age, Unmei rose above his peers with very little effort. He could easily grasp concepts far beyond his years. Everything just seemed to come naturally to him. Unmei’s younger self was vastly different than the person is today. He put in the least amount of effort possible into anything he did, never seeing a need to try too hard. This infuriated his father. And when Unmei’s younger brothers were born, their father became even more difficult to make happy. This caused tension in the Satori clan. There were rumors that Keiken was not fit to lead. But those soon died out. His father began to push Unmei even more. Unmei saw how this put tension on his family and, because of this, Unmei pushed himself to be the best he could possibly be. He believed if he could make his father proud, he would be happy.
Clan Name: Satori History: No one, not even its senior members, knows exactly how long the Satori have been around. The answer is buried deep in some dusty scroll. The Satori keep their history a closely guarded secret, even from its own members. Only those at the very too have any idea. The Satori are one of the wealthiest clans living in Sanctum Angelis, and are often elected to positions of civil service. Their compound is rather impressive at first glance, but upon further inspection is just a series of loosely interconnected, individual houses Bloodline Technique/Traits: The Satori excel in sealing jutsu and techniques concerning the boundaries between mind, body, and soul. The ultimate goal of the Satori clan is to shed their physical forms and become perfect beings. Although they do not possess a kekkei genkai, most members of the Satori do share a certain set of traits. Most have white hair, and often have either blue or green eyes. Members of the main branch are expected to possess no elemental chakra nature. This is accomplished through selective breeding. Although, the practice has fallen out of favor in recent years. ROLEPLAY SAMPLE
Faust clawed furiously at his scalp, tangling the long strands of his dirty blond hair. The young man, barely in his twenties, was standing in the middle of his apartment, if one could even call it that. His expression was one of confusion and his eyes bounced feverishly across the room as if searching for something. He looked down. There was a small, tattered and torn sofa. Not there! His eyes darted to the right. An open window with a view of the city. Just below was a street, yet not a sound was heard. No, not there! Faust spun his body around, nearly losing his balance. Television! He darted forward and tripped, landing flat on the floor. Quickly, the man scrambled up again and half crawled toward the ancient black and white television set. He grabbed both sides and pressed his forehead against the screen, his eyes wide and focused now. Nothing. The image of a reporter, a woman with a microphone, was frozen on the screen. Faust’s face contorted. He screamed. As his voice echoed throughout the small room, every light bulb flickered sporadically and then shattered; however, strangely, the pieces did not fall to the ground. They were suspended in mid air, held up by an invisible force. Faust fell back and grabbed his head, his nails digging into his scalp once again. No no no no no no no! He jumped up, knocking over the television set. Faust approached the left side wall of his apartment, his face contorted in pain once again. With another scream, he slammed his head into the wall with enough force to send him back down to the floor. For a moment, Faust struggled to stay conscious. But was able to gather his wits upon hearing broken glass hit the floor and the gentle voice of a woman. The television, despite being on its side, was still fully functional. Still only half conscious, Faust listened intently to the woman.
“... And it seems we have yet another victim in a long line of mysterious murders. The victim, a woman, was found last night in an alley outside of a local bar. The body was incredibly mangled, making identification impossible. This murder continues a strange nation wide string of brutal homicides in the last year and a half. Police have refused to release anymore information regarding the killings...”
Faust stood up, his face drawn back and emotionless. He dusted himself off and headed for the door, grabbing his keys and a dark leather jacket. He sighed, standing with his hand clasped firmly around the door knob.
“... ********..”

Genjutsu
(All Acadamy)
Genjutsu Release [D-Rank]
Heavenly Text: The Satori clan have developed a technique that allows them to psychically “link” to any text written with a special ink. The technique, while very simple, has a wide variety of uses. The writer of the message may embed hidden messages in the text which can be extracted by a reader through the same process. It is most commonly used to send secret messages between members of the clan. It is also possible to embed images within the text, or use it to convey strong emotions or ideas. It is also used by the Satori clan during training by sending their consciousness into a hypnotic state. The effects of the link differ depending on the complexity of the message. When writing or reading a simple message, the link has no outwardly effect. When embedding or deciphering a complex message the user is sent into a hypnotic state. Interrupting this state is difficult, though possible. However, it may cause short term memory loss, or worse. The technique requires the user to be able to see the text on the paper, and to be able to read the language it is written in. [C-Rank]
Ninjutsu
(All Acadamy)
Sealing Jutsu: Parasitic Seal: The user places a tag on the victim with a special seal that, when activated, absorbs chakra. Whenever the victim attempts to channel chakra to or through the marked portion of their body, the seal absorbs a portion of it. Once enough chakra has been absorbed, or the seal is damaged, the tag becomes just another piece of paper. [C-Rank]
Sealing Jutsu: Dead Weight: The user places a tag on a victim with a special seal that, when activated, makes the victims body feel heavier. The effect of the seal can be compared to walking through water. Putting more chakra into the seal allows the duration of the effect to be extended. The effect does stack, so one can burden the opponent with multiple seals. [D-Rank]
Taijutsu:
(All Acadamy)
E-Rank Kenjustu
Merciful Blade: This style of fighting focuses on incapacitating the opponent rather than outright killing them. Practitioners will attempt to sever the tendons in the ankle, for example, as opposed to severing the entire leg. However, if killing is unavoidable, a practitioner of the Merciful Blade will bring the victim to a swift, and often painless, end. Swords and throwing needles are preferred by the users of the style for their elegance and precision. [E-Rank]
