"Jack...?" Red said softly as he saw Jack leave the room.

Jack had his head hung low, having started to cry, looking up at Red he just shook his head and opened a portal to Harmonia, he had nothing to live for now, his children hated him, his mate wanted nothing more to do with him and his best friend? Whilst he still wanted to remain friends with him he just couldn't even speak to him right now and Red was only there for moral support but now that meant nothing.

As he walked through and reached Harmonia he looked up at the Government building and sighed, walking into the building he walked over to the portal that would take him up to the roof and stepped in, saying nothing to the guard he just vanished and ended up on the roof and looked around, noticing the Gargoyles slept and walked over to them, stopping there, looking at them as they slept and sighed, wondering what he could do to even try and remotely make it up to them.

"Let them kill you" a voice from behind said "you killed masses of them so let them kill you in return, let them destroy the very thing that you, right now, only have left, it is only fair."

Jack turned around, trying to figure out where the voice was coming from "whos there? Show yourself" she called out, voice strong and sturdy, not going to show weakness to something like this.

A female, icey looking fairy pony walked out from behind one of the Gargoyles and walked over to him, she was a little older in her looks, the years had been kind to her but she was starting to show grey hairs and her face looked a little worn and worried from the years of stress and what not but it was and forever will be the woman who gave birth to him, it was his mother. "Hello, Jack, how have you been?"

Jack stood there, gasping a little in her direction "m...mother?" He asked, reaching out a hoof and stroked her cheek, making sure she was real "what are you doing here?"

"I came in search of my wayward son, the murderer who killed all those magical races, you have upset me Jack, I never raised you to be like this, I gave you love, affection, I know your father didn't and I also understand that he had to die, I stopped loving him years ago, he ended up being a terrible mate and the only reason I stayed with him was because of your kids, you were strong and sturdy and could accept the life outside of the walls your father built but your sister was fragile and meek and weak and wouldn't be able to be able to live just in some valley, no house to call her own. The cold night air would of made her condition worse and as a mother who couldn't afford payment of any kind to get a house built for us or brought for us I needed to stay there for her and the only saving grace was that he never touched you children, he always attacked me but you children were always safe and why I could put up living with him, if he touched you then sure, I would have left him but I could deal with what he did and said to me as I knew it was giving your sister a roof over her head.

But the fact of the matter was that he needed to die, I never wanted to see him die, I never wished that on him at all but he did, if he was let go I would of heard of another woman suffering the same, he prayed on the weak and vulnerable and the fact he played the nice, kind, mate and father in front of his work buddies at Government House and what was just sicking so he had to go. However it did not have to be at your hooves my darling, I never did thank you for that, I hate saying this and yet at the same time I need to because it is true, your father needed to pay for what he did and being a possisive and controlling man he had to pay and it is just a shame that it was you who had to do it.

So thank you, my darling, thank you for liberating your mother from such a horrible man" she said as she lent over and kissed his cheek before looking back from where she came from "Serenade, sweetheart, come out" her mother called as a young female pony stepped out from behind the Gargoyle she came from and held onto it, smiling up at her brother before gaining a bit of strength and ran over to him and wrapped her hooves around his neck.

"Oh Jack, I have missed you greatly!" She said as she nuzzled him "the house just wasn't the same after you left, thank you though for always remembering mine and moms birthday and of course Christmas, I know it was just a card with a small gift but it did mean the world to us and we both missed them greatly once you were put in prison but it was high security, we couldn't come and see you, why didn't you get in contact with us when you got out? All we heard were your exploits in the Realm based on your job."

Jack hugged his sister and sighed "I couldn't get in contact with you, how could I? I killed my father and a mass of magical races, I thought you would be ashamed of me and want to disown me, I couldn't look you in the eye even if I did come back, I'm sorry, I just thought it would be best I kept my head down and myself involved with work for everyones sake, just be the good boy you two knew me as once upon a time" he said as he kissed his sisters cheek.

"Though the question remains, are you going to end your life here? It is only right you do don't you think? You have nothing left to live for, why not let the Gargoyles finish you off?"

Jack sighed and looked up at his mother "what else can I do? Why not let them destroy me like I did them? Maybe then...maybe then my mate..." Jack looked away as tears fell down his cheeks "maybe then Frostbite will see this as an honorable thing to do..." he said, having missed her affection greatly.

"And what about your sister and I?" Jack's mother started "what about us? We love you, we don't like what you did, we could never condone it but you did your time, you paid the price and you are now working for the Elders, sure they are still keeping a watchful eye on you but you but you are now the boy I raised, you are the son a mother can be proud of, we hated losing you for all those years but you are now back with us, we can be a family again, come home with us and at least then you can try and patch up your mateship."

"And besides, Jack" Serenade said as she lifted jacks tear streaked face to look at her with a hoof "I still want to meet my sister-in-law, see the woman who you took as a mate and I can assume you have children?"

Jack nodded "yes, four children, Snow, Crystal, Lemonade and Winter though Lemonade and Winter want nothing to do with me..." he said as he turned his head away "and Lemonade has a bunch of children so I guess, mom, you are a grandmother and a great grandmother and some day soon I feel a great great grandmother also, Tira, Lemonades adoptive son, will be having children as well" he said looking back at her, seeing her grin, he had missed that for so many years.

"Oh, Jack, baby! come on, lets go, we can stop off to get something to eat for dinner and then we can go home and see what we can do to fix this mateship of yours and we all have a lot to talk about so lets get desert and take it home with us" she suggested, both children nodding "and Jack" she said, stopping and looking at her son "NEVER EVER feel liking killing yourself again! Your sister and I will ALWAYS love you and ALWAYS want you back, no matter what, you have a family even if your other doesn't want you at this present moment, we will always want you" she said as she nuzzled her son as she carried on walking with them both "I love you, Jack".

"I love you also, mom" he said as he nuzzled her back "and thank you...both of you, I guess I forgot what it is like to have a mother and sister, it has been too long..."
