Strange things have begun to happen in Semesta. Odd events, strange occurrences and mysterious figures have begun to pop up all over the continent. Government officials from all nations have begun to hire adventures to sort these developments out. Here are the following requests:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Plains of Jord
Ranchers in the farming town Lupa have begun to complain about cattle disappearing into the night. Strange happenings have also been reported by townsfolk living on the outskirts of town. They describe the sounds as being similar to dozens of little knives being stabbing the outsides of their houses at night. Those brave enough to venture out have found nothing, but small puncture marks have been found in the sides of these houses in the following mornings. This has led the fearful townsfolk to dub the creature “The Beast of a Thousand Knives” and they have offered up a bounty to anyone who can solve this mystery and put an end to the Beast's presence in the town. The Beast of a Thousand Knives was slain by two stalwart adventures, putting the town to rest. No further strange incidents have arisen from Lupa.
Also, Locals from around the Teno Swamp have been making strange claims of seeing a monstrous humanoid living in the swamp. They say he is part alligator and part elf and that he breaks into traps of local crayfish fishermen to steal their catch. Originally these farfetched claims were treated with skepticism, but officials from Terra Solo have begun to look for individuals to investigate the matter.
Vatra of Flames
A strange flaming object suspected to be meteor was seen flying over the city of Eldur before ultimately landing in the Phesr Mountains. Some reported the object as having a humanoid shape. Officials from the city have asked for help in investigating this incident. Upon investigation nothing was found at the crash site besides a burn mark. More questions were raised then answered.
Mesa of Mist
Travelers passing through the Nati Rainforest have noticed a strange presence in the forest. Many feel as if their passage is being watched. Strange, reptilian footprints from a a bipedal creature have been found in the muddy, overgrown road linking the two nations, yet no such creature is known to reside in that forest. Scientists from both Jord and Mesa are scrambling to lay claim to discovering this new creature and have begun to hire adventurers for protection both from creatures in the harsh rainforest, and the opposing team.
Kowsauni's Roleplaying Rules
These are the rules that will be applied to all story lines I run. I prefer roleplaying where one person controls the world and guides the story and players interact with it and shape it with their decisions—like in tabletop RPGs like D&D or World of Darkness. Therefore, I'm employing these rules to bring that kind of storytelling to stories I tell in Order of Semesta.
If you decide you don't want to RP under these rules, please reconsider getting involved in my story lines. These rules will apply to anyone who joins a story I am running.
1. Players control their own characters. I control all other characters in the story. There are two exceptions to this rule.
NPCs that are introduced by the player characters that have important tie-ins with their character. NPCs under the player's control are, however, subject to rules 2 and 3.
Player characters can control NPCs for extremely minor, not story vital interactions. E.g., a player character can RP the bartender fetching him a drink.
2. Players state what actions they want their player characters to take, and I describe how successful those actions are. There is no auto-hitting NPCs with attacks, automatically successful lockpicking, pick pocketing of NPCs, etc. Choose your actions wisely.
Like with rule #1, there is an exception to this for incredibly minor actions. A good rule of thumb for this is: if what your character wants to do might have an adverse consequence, you will have to see how successful I determine it to be.
3. Sometimes things will automatically happen to player characters. This is usually done for story purposes. Player characters will never be killed against the player's wishes, but adverse things might happen to them that will be beyond their control.
