Feel free to read along just leave the posting to Bloody Carrion Crow and myself. If not I'll be forced to let the wild Chalupa digest you in the middle of the night.

----

Out of all the nights for him to run out of alcohol and tonight had to be that night. Nerves on edge, temper on the rise, and the exhaustion hanging above his head. Most people, well, they'd say it's abnormal for a regular person, but for people who knew Morgue well? It's an every day thing.

The man grabbed a bottle of Jack Daniels off the shelf and two shot bottles of vodka, before going and placing them on the counter at the front of the store. The cashier looked at him, before sighing "Do I need to I.D. you?" Morgue stood back and crossed his arms, looking back at the guy. When he realized the guy was being serious, Morgue rolled his eyes before pulling his I.D. out of his wallet and tossing it on the counter, and the cashier took his sweet time looking at it.

"Jesus Christ I'm twenty five just let me pay for this s**t and let me get outta here." He spoke up, and the little card was slid back to him. He put a twenty and a ten on the counter, sticking the two little bottles in his jacket pocket, and taking the bottle in his hand. "Thanks for wasting my time,"

Before he was even out of the store, Morgue had the bottle open and some of it going down his throat. Maybe now he could actually make it all the way home without any need to stop and thinking of calling Asia for a ride again. However barely two steps out of the store and he's already managed to run almost face first into someone, staggering a few steps back after. "s**t I uh, sorry." Yep just what he needed.

Zillah was heading into the liquor store, intent on grabbing a nice bottle of wine, when someone just about ran right into him. He blinked in surprise and instinctively bowed his head; couldn't let this strange see those scars that disfigured his face, after all. No wonder Maggie had been trying to tug him aside--she'd obviously seen this person coming, whereas he'd been so wrapped up in his own thoughts that he hadn't noticed at all. He glanced up nervously when Morgue spoke. Great, this was even better, he'd completely missed whatever the guy said...but from the look on Morgue's face he could take a guess.

"I-i-it's o-okay," He whispered, voice shy and uncertain, as if he wasn't really sure that it was okay. In truth Zillah was just worrying again. He hated having to speak just about as much as he hated having to go out in public. The terrible stutter that the 'accident' had left him with made him feel so self-conscious that saying so much as a word was agonizing. He took a step back to give all of them (himself, this stranger, and even Maggie) a bit more space and dared a glance up again.

For maybe half a second, Morgue could barely understand what the kid said, and then maybe took that as a 'you probably don't want to, keep on moving'. Morgue would've actually asked the generic 'didn't get hurt or anything, right?' question, if however Zillah was alone, which he wasn't. So Morgue took that as a way to get out, "Take it easy man, sorry again." And with that Morgue walked past the two, taking another drink out of the bottle.

But it was probably the alcohol mixed with the heat that made continuing to walk back to his apartment all the more dreadful. In fact, he got around the corner before his phone was out and he was dialing Asia's number. Her voice was loud and chipper like always, even if it was almost ten at night. And like always, she was happy to come and get him to give him a ride; in which now Morgue took back at least most of the things he thought of her makeup sometimes when she thought it was point on when it was really...not. Once the phone was hung up, Morgue leaned against the building he was standing next to as he sunk down to the ground and put the bottle of whiskey at his side. God dammit he just wanted to get out of the f-cking heat.

Zillah was ready to let Morgue go. Maggie, however, didn't seem to be. When Zillah told her to take them home, Maggie went off on a rather unexpected route that led them right towards Morgue. It was a long way, but Zillah knew that it would eventually lead back to his apartment complex so he didn't think anything of it...until he saw the other male. Then he had to bite back a curse. Maggie the match-maker was at it again; this wasn't the first time she'd pulled something like this. If he didn't know better he'd think that she planned these things out. Sighing softly, he stopped just a foot or two away from Morgue, making sure Maggie was in front of him like a barrier--just in case.

"Y-y-y-you a-alright?" He still spoke softly, but his voice had lost that shyness. Now he just sounded somewhat...resigned. The heat was unbearable, and being the little goth child that he was Zillah was dressed all in black...but he knew that Maggie wouldn't let him leave unless he spoke to this stranger.

At the time, the only apparent entertainment the man had was picking at the frays on the rips of his jeans. As he looked down at the rips at his knees and shins, Morgue's eyes traveled back and forth down the street, just to make sure he really was alone. It was just that part of him that was uneasy about being outside in public alone. Never know what crazy f-cks were walking around, especially in this part of town. And to some people, Morgue might have been considered one of those people.

However Morgue was snapped back to reality when he realized now he wasn't alone. Looking up at Zillah, Morgue just nodded. "Yeah, just waiting on a ride.." He bit on his lip before looking back up at him. "You alright?" Morgue repeats the kids question back at him, before standing up and leaning against the brick wall behind him.

Zillah shrugged and nodded. "I-I'm f-f-f-fine. J-Just...b-b-bored." Every word seemed to be omething of a struggle for the poor guy. If only he could just use sign instead, it would be so much easier--but he would never be able to work up the nerve to ask if Morgue knew sign language, so instead he just kept on struggling. He looked down at Maggie and bit back a smile when he saw that she was sitting. A sure sign that he wasn't going anywhere...so he leaned against the wall, right next to Morgue.
"M-m-m-my n-name's Z-Z-Zillah." He said, glancing over at Morgue as he spoke. Being so close to deafness had left Zillah with the rather awkward need to all but stare at a person's lips when they spoke so as to understand what was being said. He tried to work it out with nothing but subtle glances, but sometimes that didn't quite suffice.

Morgue was actually surpised at himself to say the least. Had this been any other person and it would have ended with Morgue completely ignoring them, flipping his hood up, and walking in the other direction. Like always. However there was something about this kid that got him curious and again he was surprised that he did. Hell, after all it took almost a month before Morgue even began to open up to the others at the Freakshow...then again he still doesn't do that now.

"Interesting name. I'm Morgue." He crossed his arms over his chest and bit on his lip a bit. "So do you always just go walking around town when you're bored?" In the back of his head a little voice told him he did the same thing and to think about shutting up a bit, but Morgue just ignored it.

So far as Zillah was concerned, Morgue was a miracle. He hadn't said anything about the scars and he wasn't staring or acting stupidly sympathetic; in fact, he just didn't seem to care. Which was really the best reaction possible. And strangely, Zillah didn't feel nervous about talking to or being around Morgue--just a little intrigued about this person Maggie had apparently chosen for him to talk to.
"I-i-i-interesting n-n-name y-y-y-yourself," He said with a quiet little laugh. Head tilted as he took in the next question, he then gave a half-shrug. "S-s-s-sometimes. R-r-really I w-w-was w-w-walking h-h-h-home." He didn't see the point in mentioning that Maggie had all but dragged him over, or that this was the long way home for him...that might just seem creepy.

Well, it's not that Morgue didn't care he just well...didn't notice. Well, okay he did but it didn't phase Morgue much. Sure he was curious but he wasn't an a*****e that was going to just outright ask. Hell, Morgue himself probably still had black makeup smeared on his face somewhere from trying to wipe it off in a rush after his last performance earlier.

"Sometimes?" He asked jokingly, actually letting a small smile crack on his features for a second. Then again Morgue kept thinking back in his head that it probably was normal for people to go out walking around just for the hell of it, and Morgue never left his apartment other than for food, alcohol, or work. As bad as that would sound.

Zillah shrugged, letting an easy smile slip onto his face. "Yeah, s-s-s-s-s-sometimes. S-s-sometimes I j-j-j-just w-w-wander a-a-around i-i-in m-m-my a-a-a-apartment." He said with a wink and a quiet laugh. Truth was, most of the time that was what he did. Like Morgue, Zillah didn't exactly leave the house often--well, at least once a day, but that was only because Maggie needed to be walked. Other than that he mostly just stayed inside. If he was alone in his apartment there was no one that could stare at him, after all, and that was the way that he preferred it.

Zillah pushed his dreads back away from his face and looked around. "N-n-n-not t-t-the n-n-nicest p-p-part o-of t-t-town, h-h-huh?" That was a bit of an understatement; the place was absolutely run-down. Nerves drove him to look around again and make sure they were the only ones out. He took in a deep, calming breath and let it out slowly. If he wasn't careful he'd end up having a flashback...

Well that sounded familiar. At least now Morgue knew he wasn't the only one who preferred to stay close to home. Well, okay, he couldn't really say for sure that it was the same case for Zillah, since Morgue stayed home just because he hated people. Well...most people (a good 75% of people).

Giving the area a little look around himself, Morgue shrugged. "Eh. It's worse where I work some days. The people you see there make me look like an average citizen." The boardwalk and outside the Freakshow were always filled with the most interesting people...in the good and bad way.

A soft laugh escaped Zillah's lips. "Y-y-y-you l-l-look l-l-l-like a-an a-a-a-average c-c-citizen t-to m-m-m-me," He said with a grin. He made it seem like a joke, but really, it was true; looking the way he did made it easier for Zillah to look past other people's differences. How could he not, when he expected them to do it for him? Moreover, Morgue was an exceptionally attractive citizen...Aaaand Zillah realized he was staring. Awkward. He looked away quickly.
"S-s-s-so w-w-where d-d-do y-y-you w-w-work, t-t-then?" There was a smile on his face again. Maybe Morgue hadn't even noticed his staring. ...Hopefully.

Of course Morgue noticed he was looking, sure he did, but he played it off. It wasn't every day something like that happened...well...in that sense. But Morgue himself might have been looking too. Not that he'd ever admit it. "Yeah but looks aren't everything, believe me most people think I'm the devils incarnate or some s**t..."

At Zillah's next question, Morgue looked back at him and stood up from leaning on the wall. "I work at the Freakshow down on the boardwalk. Performing and stuff." Just another reason to add to the book why Morgue was no average person. Not everyone could not saw off their tongue with a saw blade or not die laying on row after row of razors. Well...anyone could do it technically, most people just weren't smart enough to know how.

There was a freak show down on the Boardwalk? That was the first Zillah had heard of it, and he'd been down there plenty of times. Needless to say, it piqued his interest and he made a mental note to go check it out sometime. Especially if Morgue was there...heh. "T-t-t-t-that's r-r-r-really c-c-cool. I d-d-d-didn't e-e-even k-k-know s-s-such a p-p-place e-e-existed." Morgue or not, a freak show was right up Zillah's alley, which should have been obvious enough given how dark and...well, gothic he dressed.

"Y-y-y-you g-g-g-got a c-c-c-c-cool j-j-j-job," He said as he straightened up as well, pulling a face at the same time, "I w-w-w-work a-a-at a l-l-l-library." The most boring job in the world, and he hated it, but they were the only ones who would hire him for the limited hours he could work before agonizing pain crippled him.

"We were closed down for a while, but I mean it's cool if you're down for crowds, two headed animals, and an annoying a** midget who doesn't know how to shut up." He sometimes wanted to use Matt's head as a football, maybe then he'd shut up for a minute. Or not. Probably not. Some days Morgue would actually trade him hanging around for Murrugun. And he was pretty sure if he got Morgue alone in an alley he would probably murder him.

"A library? You mean, there's more than one?" That was probably the shittiest joke Morgue had made ever. Then again, most times when Morgue tried to be anything other than subtle or blunt, it didn't go well. However there was just something about this kid that was easy to talk to.
