This is the Music Composition Consent Forum!
Guild members who wish to create original music pieces for animation will be hence forth known as " Music Composers " or just simply " Composers ." Volunteer guild members who wish to compose music needs to follow and understand the Music Composition Consent Forum. In most cases, composers have to collaborate together with other composers who are working on the same project to contribute to big animated projects, and must be willing to work solo or collaborate when creating a musical score.
The Music Composition Consent Forum is a contract agreement established by the animator/Guild Captain, Echo Penn, to inform potential musicians the rules and conditions if and when guild members or outside associates (such as other composers) consents to working on music projects for Echo Penn.
For those of you who are ACTIVE guild members who agreed to participate in Echo Penn's animation projects by creating the musical score, you are obligated to read the MUSIC COMPOSITION CONSENT FORUM to understand the conditions set up by the guild captain, Echo Penn, to any potential or active composers. Refusal to read the Music Composition Consent Forum could result in immediate unapproved of any music file sent towards the voice acting guild's email account or dismissal of any music file already emailed to Echo Penn.
The first rule composers needs to understand is . . .
: I AM THE MUSIC DIRECTOR :
I am the music director who will oversee all music compilations associated with Echo Penn's animations. If any guild member wish to create music for Echo Penn's animation, the guild member needs to contact Echo Penn on the Anime Voice Acting Guild main forums whenever a project becomes listed. The guild member can contact Echo Penn in the sub forum that contains the animation project you wish to create music for. As the music director, I am allowed to use music from indie websites within or outside the guild. The music director is the project leader over music associated with animation.
: WORK HOURS :
Composers will be given ample time to work on creating new and original music for animation projects. Time given to compose a musical score can range from a month to a month and two weeks or whatever time frame the guild captain gives to musicians. Composers are to meet the deadline given to them when taking on the task of creating music. If a composer needs more time to work on music, they are responsible for contacting Echo Penn, in the guild or on her profile, informing the music director about an extension. If the composer don't meet the EXTENDED new deadline granted or otherwise, the composer's music is dropped from the project.
: ORIGINAL MUSIC :
Echo Penn's animation projects will always consist of original music for storytelling whether it's in anime series or animated movies. Source materials such as pieces of art, videos, or music can be used as a catalyst; a source of inspiration or a rough general idea of what type of music to compose for an original musical score. Echo Penn will NEVER use the source material within the animation project ! ! !
: DECISIONS :
Music composers may have ideas for what they want to create with the a piece of musical score they are working on. As well as a composer should ! Depending on the music project, I ( Echo Penn ) will need to discuss WITH the guild member about the music being composed for animated projects. Regardless of what type of music project the composer have been assigned, the music director edits all music pieces and gives the final say on what music gets used in animation!
But composers need to understand the rules for when creating music with the director.
1). Echo Penn decides which music audio files, or music piece are acceptable for animation.
2). The musical score must be altered to fit the ideas of the music director or assigned project leader.
3). Only guild members who volunteer to create music for projects who work under project leaders, can be appointed as a " Composer " onto a project.
4). The musical composer needs to respect the animator, voice actors, and fellow composers if she/he did not get appointed and continues to show good sportsmanship!
5). Any threats made towards the animator, guild members, voice actors, composers to alter music will result in IMMEDIATE BAN FROM THE GUILD, AND GETTING REPORTED TO GAIA ADMINISTRATORS ! This rule also applies to gaians who are not in the guild. Any outside guild members making threats will be reported.
6). ECHO PENN makes the final decisions on all music projects for Echo Penn animations ! ! !
: CONSENT :
When a composer sends their music files through the anime audition email account, YOU ( the composer ) , are not only giving consent to the animator to use the music files, you are also giving the animator OWNERSHIP of all content and full jurisdiction to the animator ( Echo Penn ) ,who may use any and all music content for any animation project. Echo Penn will not be subjugated by the composer, guild members, outside associates, ect to remove any musical score, or audio music files used in video/ animation, that contains 'said' composer's music content. Composers or potential composers who makes the decision to send Echo Penn any music content from music samples, such as original creator content, or indie music samples from other websites, ect used by or sent to Echo Penn, consents to giving the animator FULL OWNERSHIP AND JURISDICTION, over all audio files sent to the Anime Voice Acting Guild email account. If the composer does not agree to give the animator ( Echo Penn ) , full ownership and jurisdiction over all music files, or music content
DO NOT EMAIL ANY MUSIC TO ECHO PENN !
If the composer does not want Echo Penn to use and own any music content, the composer is to TAKE FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEMSELVES AND DO NOT EMAIL MUSIC AUDIO FILES TO THE ANIMATOR'S EMAIL ACCOUNT ! ! ! !
Choosing to create music for animation is a form of consent to the animator to use and own all music files sent to Echo Penn from the composer. If you ( the composer ), do not want any animator/s to own or use any music created, for any reason . . .
DO NOT COMPOSE MUSIC FOR ANIMATION AND SEND IT TO THE GUILD'S EMAIL ACCOUNT ! ! !
: UPLOADING MUSIC :
The animator controls what music gets uploaded into animation.
When a composer sends music content to the animator ( Echo Penn ), the composer DO NOT have the authority to request or demand an animation they have composed music for, to be removed from a website. The composer DO NOT have the authority to request a music piece they have created or otherwise to be removed from an animator's creator content. Composers should be aware that the animator gives a time frame for what music in animation gets uploaded, how long the music in animation remains onto a site, and schedules the start and ending of all music in animation projects NOT THE COMPOSER ! ! ! If a composer do not want their music content to be used in animation -
DO NOT SEND AN EMAIL CONTAINING MUSIC ! ! !
Any threats made towards the animator, guild members, voice actors, composers or the guild itself will result in immediate ban and reported the Gaian Administrators ! ! !
Composers are not to defame, or claim ownership of animation they have composed music for, whether the animation is copy-written or not copy-written. Composers are not authorized to upload animation they have created music for - onto their YouTube video account, any social networking accounts, or websites.
Composers are free to use the MUSIC they have created for other projects however they wish, but can not claim ownership of the animation they have contributed music for.
: COMPENSATION :
Guild members and outside associates who consents to emailing their music files to the guild's email account, and continues to participates through the music composing experience are to understand their position as a non - salary employee to the animator, Echo Penn. Echo Penn is not responsible for payment to composers, for any revenue the animation might generate.
Guild members need to have FULL comprehension of the nature of consent for animators to use music files created from VOLUNTEER composers.
Read a sticky called, " Credibility " in the forum post. Composers need to receive credit for the music they have contributed to animation ! ! !
The Guild Captain reserves the right to change the rules at anytime !

so you have full ownership of the music the composer makes for your animations but then they can turn around and use it somewhere else? That's a little confusing to me. I get the part that you get full ownership and all because that's how it actually works but then your second statement of us being able to use it for other projects kind of contradicts the first statement. If you own the music, you own the music. We can't turn around and use it somewhere else without your permission.

Chibigurla so you have full ownership of the music the composer makes for your animations but then they can turn around and use it somewhere else? That's a little confusing to me. I get the part that you get full ownership and all because that's how it actually works but then your second statement of us being able to use it for other projects kind of contradicts the first statement. If you own the music, you own the music. We can't turn around and use it somewhere else without your permission. What I mean by full ownership of the music is that once you create and send music for me to use, the composer can't tell me to take down the music. The composer can't tell me to use the music how they want the music to be use in my animations, I make those decisions. Just because the composer created music for me use, it doesn't mean the music they have created is EXCLUSIVE to me. For example, there is an audio portal on newgrounds.com where animators and game developers can download music from. The audio portal is a section on newgrounds where more than one animator or game dev. might end up downloading the same piece of music for their projects, it can't be helped. Just because I want to download a musical score for an anime I am doing, it won't stop other creators to use the EXACT same music piece for their project as well. You see what I mean? Every piece of music in the audio portal isn't exclusive to one person, anybody can use it. That is what I am saying in the Music Composition Consent Forum. YES you have created music for me to use in my animation, BUT you can let other people use the exact same music you have created for me, to share with other people. YES you have created music for me to use in my animation, NO you cannot claim the animation as your own just because you have created music for it. The reason why I said you can share the music you have created for me with other people ( if you so choose ) is because on indie websites, such as newgrounds.com, they share everything from voice actors, to animators, sounds, and of course music. I don't want the composers to feel obligated to only create original music for me and no one else, that's just absurd. What if the composer I hire is trying to market themselves in music and they want to use the music they have created for one of my animations to help propel themselves to do so? If I said something like, " Composers have to create new and original music for me and no one else! " It makes it sound as if they have to create new music exclusively for me to use and more new music to market themselves, that sounds like a lot of work on the composer's part. Besides even if I made the composers music exclusive to me, what's to stop the exact same composer from sharing the music they have created for me, with somebody else, lol? Besides I am not the music police, even though this consent forum makes it sound like I am, LOL. By all means, whatever music composers create for me I am thankful for, and they can use the MUSIC they have created for Echo Penn, however they wish. The composers do not have a say on how Echo Penn will use the music for animation. And the composer cannot claim ownership of music they have already sent to me. Once you send it to me, it's mine. If you don't want me to have a piece of music, DON'T send it to me. Whatever animation I use the music for, the composer DOESN'T own the animation because they have created music for it.
