Starting at the base of Mt. Snicket, this six-hour round trip trail takes trainers to the peak of the volcano and back down. Even though it is a difficult hike, many decide to venture out because they enjoy a challenge for both their Pokémon and themselves. The native tribes also live off trail of the area, and it is common that a trainer might run into a few natives gathering resources or befriending a Pokémon. They are always happy to battle and use only the Pokémon found on the hiking trail. Along the trail, rock formations from hardened lava and small, hot pools of lava are common sights. For the most part though, it's vivid greenery and lovely red flowers.

At the highest point on the trail, trainers are allowed to look (at a safe distance) into the volcano. Small pools of bubbling hot magma are found in the volcano's peak. The volcano itself is inhabited by wild Pokémon that enjoy rough areas and warmer temperatures. Halfway up the trail, trainers will notice a small, unimposing hut with a garden out front. Usually, there is an old man tending his crops in peace. If he likes you, and you give him a heart scale, he will teach your Pokémon things you didn't think possible.

[The Move Tutor is an NPC that your character can interact with and control. You may have your Pokémon learn a new technique for every Heart Scale you bring him, keeping in mind their limitations. The Heart Scales can be obtained from various tropical areas in the region, or by catching wild Luvdisc.

The Move Tutor will also give you special battle items if you use his services enough, in recognition of your hard work. If you train with him three times, he will give you a Dragon Fang for your Pokémon. Train with him six times for the Focus Band and, finally, nine times for a Burn Orb. Once you have trained with him ten times, The Move Tutor will give you a rare Larvesta for your party.]
