A vast beach running along the southern side of Peirs Island. The soft white sand, the salty spray of the ocean, the beautiful view of the sea... This is one of Seussville's most famous and noted landmarks. The beach is a very popular hangout for the surfers in town, as well as one of the most visited places for tourists. There is a small building that holds many surf boards. The workers there will lend boards to anyone, and they even hand out specially modified boards for Pokémon to surf as well. There are competitions held there for the more die-hard surfers every six months, citizens and tourists are encouraged to participate or watch this event.
[Trainers are allowed to do a PRP here for the surfing contest once every six months. For participating, you will receive your choice of either a Great Ball, a Mystic Water or a 20% off Discount Coupon for the Stroud City Department Store. Playing here with your Pokémon will also boost their happiness/affection by a bonus five points. This boost only works twice per Pokémon. Finally, the item Soft Sand can also be obtained here for free.]
[To fish, bring your fishing rod and generate a random number from one to ten. Whatever Pokémon you roll, you fish up. There's no limit to how many fishing posts you can make, but any Pokémon too strong for your rod will simply get away without being fished up. Good luck!]

She was so used to the dark atmosphere of the tower that the brilliant sunlight was more than a little blinding. Augustus and Ophelia seemed to dislike the light, though Augustus seemed happy enough by the water. The Litwick, which Aimi had decided to call Stark, avoided the water like crazy (not surprising, Aimi thought, given the Pokémon's likeness to a candle), but seemed to enjoy the warmth. The Golett, now called Gatsby, seemed to care less about the sunlight and was more interested in the sand. It promptly sat down and started running its fingers through the sand, much like a toddler. The Mimikyu, who Aimi still had yet to come up with a name, didn't seem to care much for anything the beach had to offer, though it seemed to enjoy looking around and observing. Aimi smiled. She was glad that most of her Pokémon seemed happy, though she was disappointed that Ophelia found things less than enjoyable. She held out her Poké Ball, and her Gastly faded away, disappearing into her home. Aimi returned the Poké Ball to her bag.
Aimi pulled a swim suit out of her bag and vanished into a changing tent. She soon emerged wearing a bikini that barely held her curves in. If she was going to be on the beach, she may as well be dressed appropriately! She hadn't gotten to spend much time at the beach in Kanto, after all, so she enjoyed the opportunity to squish the sand between her toes. Aimi smiled at her Pokémon and the Mimikyu. "Anyone want to build a sand castle?" she asked.
With Augustus using Water Gun to build a moat, Gatsby using Mud Slap to help build up the foundation, Stark gathering sticks for structure, and Mimikyu picking up seashells to decorate the sandcastle, Aimi and her Pokémon created a castle fit for a king. It was all topped off when a Sandygast emerged from the castle, and they all ended up laughing.
"Surfing competition! Last call for entry!"
Aimi looked up. There was a lifeguard standing here, holding out a sign up sheet pinned on a clipboard. "Interested in surfing, sunshine?"
Aimi stood to her full height, bouncing a little and smiling. "A surfing competition? Sure!" she said, excited. She paused. "Only... I haven't surfed before."
The lifeguard laughed. "Haven't surfed before? No worries! I'm sure you'll be fine." With that, Aimi signed herself up for the competition and recalled all her Pokémon but Augustus. She knew that of all her Pokémon, her Froakie was the most comfortable in water, and maybe it could help her somehow. The Mimikyu cried enthusiastically. Aimi smiled once more; with the support of her Pokémon, she knew she'd be fine.
At least I know how to swim! Aimi thought an hour later, laying on her stomach and paddling out to sea. She was registered in the beginner's league, where they barely expected you to be able to stand up and they only let you surf in the smaller waves in a rock and reef free part of the ocean. A few lifeguards held aloft by Pelliper were out watching, and there were another couple of lifeguards on either side of her, floating on surfboards. Aimi did all she could to mentally block them out as she knew they'd distract her. Augustus was perched on the front of her board. Luvdisc jumped out of the water next to her, and Aimi took that as a sign of good luck. Mimikyu stayed back on land, and Aimi could hear its cheers of encouragement in between the crashing of the waves. It gave her optimism, despite never having surfed before.
Once she'd made her way out far enough, her Froakie croaked, and she stopped paddling. She was a little worn out, but she knew she had only completed half the journey. Aimi lay there for a minute, feeling her heart rate decrease a little. Her Froakie kept an eye out for waves. Once she'd regained her composure, she looked to Augustus for guidance. The Pokémon nodded in understanding. A minute passed, then two, as the pair bobbed up and down on waves.
"Froakie!"
At the cry of her Pokémon, Aimi knew a good wave was coming. She pointed her board towards the shore and started paddling. When she felt the wave start to lift her up, she stopped paddling and started to pull her knees together. While more advanced surfers would stand up, the beginners league was allowed to stay in a crouch. Aimi's board dropped beneath her and she started to feel the exhilaration that came of riding a wave. The girl couldn't help but grin, and Augustus looked like it was having fun as well. Aimi focused on keeping her weight balanced, and was surprised how steady she was on the board. She then felt something compelling her to stand up.
She'd watched a few of the surfers in the intermediate and advanced leagues, and felt she'd got it. It couldn't be too difficult, right? She moved her foot forward slowly, slowly, and...
...plummeted into the ocean.
She resurfaced after a few seconds, her once curly hair now dripping wet. She chuckled a little. Augustus seemed happy to be in the water, and Aimi swam to shore with her partner Pokémon. Mimikyu ran up to her and burbled with excitement. She knew she didn't win, but she had fun. And she learned she was utter rubbish at surfing.
...
"And the final results are in!" the announcer called two hours later. Aimi didn't win, but she was offered a participation prize. She approached the counter to claim it, followed by Augustus and the Mimikyu.
"What do you think, guys? What should I get?"
Augustus was excited by the Mystic Water, and Aimi turned to Mimikyu. The little ghost-fairy type seemed drawn to the Great Ball, for whatever reason. "Is... is this what you need to be captured?" Aimi asked. The Mimikyu nodded excitedly. Augustus nodded too. Aimi reached for the Great Ball, thanked the officiators for letting her participate, and stepped to the side. She held out the Great Ball, and the Mimikyu disappeared inside. Aimi smiled. She might not have won the surfing competition, but she did win herself a new friend.
With that scored away, she returned Augustus to its Poké Ball and made her way back to the middle of town.
