The Castle Gardens flaunt the kingdom's wealth, what, with tropical forests followed by frozen paradises. This place is where the kings go for help, being that this is where the gods supposedly rest.

 A young woman stepped lightly on the cobblestone around the edge of the garden, a slight clanking of metal could be heard as her armor rubbed up against each other, and a sturdy sword could be seen at the woman's left hip. All signs of a royal guard making her rounds. The woman glanced into the garden, her green eyes filled with longing. She took a hesitant step onto the path that lead through the greenery. Her foot made contact with the stone and she knew she would be spending the rest of her shift protecting the oasis before her. I wonder if they will allow anyone through here for the holiday, she thought as she wandered with light steps along the path. She was still alert, though her demeanor seemed a bit more relaxed, her emerald eyes more soft, and her gait more playful. She brushed a strand of her long silver hair behind her right ear, her hand crossing her face to do so as she looked up at the shining sun.
"Such a beautiful day," she said out loud as her hand dropped back to her side.

═════════════════════════╝Felwair calmly walked around, remarking upon how empty and silent it was. Normally it would be filled with people and hushed whispers hidden by the cawing of birds. Then again, it was rare to run into people in the gardens, seeing how big it was. He calmly turned a corner on a path, continuing to walk, questioning where the exit was. He chuckled at his own joke. Silly him, there were exits everywhere! Pausing for a minute, he closed his eyes, whistling a sound very much akin to a bird. He then waited as the jungle erupted in bird sqauwks and beastly howls. Some spoke to him of a guard nearby and he quickly climbed up a tree, gazing downwards from the canopy. Ah, yes! There she was, doing her rounds! A royal guard, but was she a King's guard? Either way, the pale hair stood out to him. Laying on a thick branch like a jaguar might, he looked down at her, cat-like eyes dilating, a speckled tail swaying back and forth. " Hello, Fin.", he said, perched on the branch, a smile on his face. " How are the rounds going?" ╔═════════════════════════

The young woman's attention was caught by the sound of birds squawking. Her eyes darted around the garden, her left hand at the hilt of her sword. Then, just as suddenly as the sounds erupted, they stopped. Replaced by the sound of a male's voice greeting her. Her silver hair flowed down her back as she looked up with her emerald eyes. Who... her thoughts cut off at what she saw. A man with snow white skin and hair with a slightly darker tint. His eyes and tail startled her at first as she sucked in a breath of air a little too fast. He was perched like a large cat and he was smiling. A slight pink color tinted Fin's cheeks before fading. He was stunning. Her hand moved from her hilt and moved to shield her eyes from the sun to get a better look at him. She had never seen him before.
"How do you know my name," she asked politely, then it dawned on her. Fin absently stood on her tiptoes as if to see him better. "Are you the King's jester?"

═════════════════════════╝A slight chuckle escaped Felwair's lips at Fin's reaction. He cocked his head to the side, puzzled. A guard who didn't know who he was? Interesting... " Yes? As a royal guard, one would think you knew all the members of the court. And I know your name from the record books. The big one. Y'know, the one you have to wait hours for an artist to draw you in, along with all your information.", he smiled, clearly amused. Small birds began to perch on his antlers and he shook his head, forcing them to fly away. " So, morning shift, eh? Half the guards in the barracks will normally end up guarding a keg by the end of their shift." Felwair laughed, seeing as it was indeed a fact. ╔═════════════════════════

Fin crossed her arms in front of her chest at the jester's presumption. Yes, she thought as she eyed him carefully. One WOULD think. She took a sideways glance to a bush to her right after he said all of her information was in the record books. She doubted that ALL of her information was in it. Her eyes returned to him in time to see that he was amused. Then she noticed his antlers for the first time and her ancestor's memories pulled at her. She had originally thought he was a cat person, but seeing the antlers proved otherwise. Her heart sped up a little as she nearly missed what he said next.
"I am fairly new," she said first to her own defense. "Your appearance is not exactly common. You are striking in person. Quite shocking with your cat eyes and tail and then antlers." Her head tilted to the side as she spoke. "What are you exactly?" Her voice was strong, but filled with respect. "And I highly doubt I will be found by the keg by the end of my shift. I much prefer it out here than in there with the booze."

═════════════════════════╝Felwair had switched to laying on his back instead, but as he began to speak, he turned back over onto his stomach. " I'm a demon.", he answered, without even blinking. He then tapped an index finger to his nose and added. " An Azceltian one at that. You can tell mainly because I don't have wings. Though I suppose some Earthborn demons don't have wings either.", he said, now questioning if that was true. He had never visited Earth and probably never would. There was too much to do here in Azcelt. He blinked as she said she wouldn't be found by a keg, calmly replying, " Well that's nice. If you ever wish for a refreshment though, feel free to ring a crystal bell. Of course, you said you were fairly new, so if you don't have one, I'd advise picking one up.", Felwair nodded. He began to fool around with his magic, making it snow lightly. ╔═════════════════════════

Fin's arms uncrossed involuntarily at his answer to what he was. Her ancestor's memories kicked in and she knew about the lack of wings in Azceltian demons just before he mentioned it. She had a blank stare on her face as more information came to her. She absently heard a few words that he said, though one item snapped her out of it.
"Crystal bell," she questioned, her head tilting to the side again. "I have not heard of that yet." Her attention was then drawn to snowflakes. "Snow..." Her eyebrows furrowed. "I hope it does not interfere with the plants."

═════════════════════════╝Felwair shook his head, no. " No, it won't mess with the plants, it's merely for show or amusement.", he said. Calmly grabbing hold of a branch lower than his own, he swung down to it, continuing the pattern until he was standing on the ground. " Hmm, how do I explain what the bell is without making it complicated. Ok, so I suppose you could say it's a sort of summoning device, I can't exactly say what it summons mainly because it differs for everyone. Some people may get a demon like myself, others may get a ghost, or an animal. The possibilities are endless really. And they do whatever is on your mind when you summon them. Or they'll at least try to. If you get one, don't get it from the castle. It's a little known fact we give glass ones and have war prisoners follow you around and pretend to be summoned.", Felwair said, shrugging. The Queen had implemented that act long ago, having too many prisoners, so many, in fact, they ran out of cells and had to lock 1000 in some of the castle bedrooms. ╔═════════════════════════

Fin's facial features smoothed back out as he told her it would not interfere with the plants. She nodded as if to reassure herself as well. Then he was climbling down from the tree. Fin took a a few steps back to give him room, though it had honestly startled her. She was not really sure what she thought of him. He seemed nice enough, but there was something about him that bugged her. Maybe it was that he was a demon? She herself was a warlock. They both could do magic of some sort. She mentally shook it off.
He was telling her about the bell now. A summoning device? They do what is on your mind? Her head was tilted to the side again as she processed this, her long silver hair flowing from behind her shoulder. When he mentioned the glass ones she gave a small frown. He had also said 'we' as in he probably did this as well. "Well then," she said as she swept her hair back behind her shoulder. "Where should I get one then if not from the castle? And what of you? Are you ever summoned?"

═════════════════════════╝Felwair thought for a moment before answering. " You can get them from the middle class market's ruins or the upper class market on Azcelt. Aside from that, being a being such as myself, I can't use them, mainly because I can do whatever I summon can do, if not better. And, yes, occasionally. Very rarely though. I know I get summoned by the king, but say you get a bell with even a pinch of whatever crystal is used in the King's, you would summon me. Just a weird thing I learned." Thinking it over quickly, he added on " Oh, at that, say you do share part of a crystal with someone else, the thing you summon will often do a sort of importance balancing. So saving a life comes before getting a drink.",Slowly, he began to walk down one of the paths, tail twitching whenever a leaf touched it too softly. ╔═════════════════════════

"I see," Fin said as she shielded her emerald eyes from the baring sun. "And just what all can you do?" She was naturally curious and also felt it was her right as a royal guard to know. He had started walking down the path now. She followed slowly, taking a look around. "Do you frequent the gardens? I know I am new, but this is the first time I have seen you here."

═════════════════════════╝Felwair ducked underneath a low-hanging vine, answering. " I can do many a thing, Fin. I'll answer your second question first though. No, I don't visit this place often, mainly because it's a place the King likes to reserve for himself. That being said, I'm sure we both know how many beheadings he does daily, thus the cause for some of the hybrid plant species here. They tend to evolve to drink blood, so that's mainly why I don't frequent this place. It's just not in peace, this place.", Felwair sighed, brushing the edge of a leaf to prove his point. Black blood began to pool from his finger where he touched the plant and disappeared as the plant began to drink it up. Removing his fingertip, he held it up for Fin to see. " As for powers, this is one of them.", he said, waiting as the cut very slowly began to seal itself. " It's a common thing most Azceltian Demons can do. Slow cell regeneration. Depending on your sort of rank, you'll regenerate faster and you'll have stronger powers. Mine include what you saw earlier, that snow, control over ice, and some spells. As for the king, he grants wishes, and provides blessings that actually work. It's one of the main reasons Azcelt has such prosperous systems.", he said, smiling, continuing on the path. His tail began to sway back and forth, showing he was clearly annoyed. Turning back to Fin, he said patiently, " I'm afraid I'll have to leave soon, Fin. I'm being summoned currently, a downside to being what I am. If you're still here, maybe I'll come visit." ╔═════════════════════════

Fin walked right under the vine without having to duck. She thought on what he had said about the King reserving this place to his self and wondered if he would not like her to be here. A slight panic went through her at the thought of losing her head. Her head tilted at his next statement and watched as the plant sucked away his black blood. Interesting, she thought to herself. I wonder if the plant has any medical properties. Maybe Dai would know. Then he was holding up his finger. She marveled as the skin stitched itself together.
"That is pretty amazing," she said as she reflected on her own abilities. She could control plants to a certain extent, but she did not like to reveal her powers to others. She walked along with him, smiling as she began to feel more comfortable around him. Then he announced he was being summoned. She felt her heart fall a little. She did not find company like him very often. "Alright then. I do suppose my shift is almost over anyway."

═════════════════════════╝Felwair nodded, happy she understood. Reaching up, he grabbed one of the bracelets hanging on his antlers. Unhinging it, he slid a clear bead off of the string and handed it to Fin, hinging the bracelet and putting it back onto a branch of his antlers. " If you ever want to talk, gimme a call. Just get a jeweler or someone to carve or insert that into a bell for you. If you think of me while ringing it, I'll get the call, but if you don't and you ring it, you'll get your assigned creature. Farewell, Fin.", he smiled, waving as he collapsed into a pile of water that was quickly absorbed into the earth. ╔═════════════════════════
