I'm transgender. I've only told me mum and a few people this. The reason I am often not so open about this is because of a lot of the negative feedback I often see for people who state they are so, plus when I was younger, around the age of five, six or seven, and I started showing signs of being so, my stepfather beat me for it and I ended up walking around for about fifteen to twenty years of my life thinking I was some sort of freak.

I am asexual, which, for me, means that I have no sexual attraction to anything male or female. Again, I've only told a few people, mostly because I don't fully understand the full measure of this and am still trying to figure out all the various points of view and aspects of being so.

And, with a few exceptions, even though I really don't do any about my transgenderism, mostly because I don't agree with a lot of societal messages, I am happy. Not a freak, like I was taught.

i thought i was a freak too when i was younger. i spent a good 12 years desperately hiding any feminine quality of mine, i even talked as deep as i could no matter what (i have an oddly high pitched voice for a male). i was terrified that someone would somehow find out i was trans. apparently i did it a bit too well because when i told my mom she was totally blind sided, even though i thought it was obvious.

Though I don't do a lot about my transgenderism, it does still show if a person is observant enough to catch it.

There are some aspects of my mannerisms (sometimes in the way I walk, the way I talk, the way I stand, the list goes on), the way I dress (I often dress in gender neutral clothing, or as close as I can get and sometimes dress in pyjamas appropriate for the opposite sex/gender), as well as often aspects of my physical appearance, as well as the way my bedroom looks are clearly more appropriate for someone of the opposite sex/gender.

This is just who I am. A person who was born the wrong sex/gender and who knows it. And because I don't agree with a lot of what is expected of such a person, I try to find the middle ground that can make me happy and not draw to much negative attention to myself.
