A simple one bedroom, one kitchenette, one living room, one bathroom suite. It's simple with a pullout couch for the lazy nights when the resident doesn't want to get up to sleep in his proper bed.

[Enter Aoi from the Inn Lobby.]
Slipping the key-card into the lock, Aoi watched as the little red light turned green before turning the handle and entering the suite he just rented. The immortal had a dozen things he needed for the room, all the basics, while he recovered from his injuries, then he'd be out living in the forest again. Well, maybe not. I'm not in the mood to get hurt again. Now annoyed, exhausted, and wounded, Aoi scratched the back of his head before shutting the door behind him and collapsing onto the couch in the small living room. He was out in a matter of minutes.

A sudden, violent feeling overcame Aoi as he shot straight up from the couch, feel off said couch, and then ran for the kitchen sink. The immortal heaved the contents of his stomach into the sink, feeling the burn of the bile in his throat. He stared at the sink once done and saw only the bile, having forgotten he had not eaten in the last 48 hours. It didn't make him feel any better. His body, especially his chest, ached and his head felt light, it was a pain in the neck. Aoi didn't have cash on-hand to pay for room service and he didn't feel like ordering overpriced food. Actually, Aoi wanted a Scotch on the rocks now. Drowning in spirits was better than eating, especially when he wasn't supposed to consume alcohol while on painkillers. Doctor's orders be damned, he thought as he wiped his mouth and rinsed it out.
In the end, Aoi decided to eat in town. He doubted many people would disturb him, not the dragon boy at least. If anything, the boy was fawning over Sol and Luna like a cat with a new toy. Whatever, it's best to stay away from people. It was painful seeing Sol and Luna together, it reminded him of too many memories he rather forget.

[Enter Aoi from Town Square.]
Slightly drunk, Aoi stumbled into his suit and crashed on the nearest couch he could see. He wasn't planning on attending the masked ball, but he was starting to change his mind. However, either way he needed to sleep off his drunken state. It was always disappointing to know his immortal powers did not work on his alcohol and drug levels. Whatever, it doesn't matter anyways. He did not care much about it at this point, he was just thinking of the ball and what the boy with the cat said and if Sol really would attend it. The immortal drifted off to sleep with those thoughts in mind.
Upon waking up, Aoi glanced at the wall clock and gasped. It was almost time for the ball. He hurriedly took a shower and changed his clothes before setting off for the party.

[Enter Aoi from Kuro Shiro Manor.]
Aoi returned to his suite, physically and mentally exhausted by the events of the night. It seemed when everything could go right, it all went wrong. As he slumped over the bathroom sink, he stared at his disheveled reflection and sighed. A tamer was in town and kidnapped one of the town's dragons using a badly abused dragon of his own. He was the kind of person Aoi hated the most. He'll be dead soon enough. was his only thought as he washed and cut his hair so it was no long lopsided before taking a bath and calling it a night.

Aoi's alarm went off, blaring like a megaphone at an auction house. Forced into a waking state, the still sleepy man wanted to fall back into bed. However, he kept his alarm all the way across the room for the expressed purpose of not falling back asleep. Grumbling, the water elemental checked the time and sighed. Not much time had passed since he fell asleep, but some sleep was better than no sleep. Shrugging off the covers, the immortal took a shower and changed cloths, opting for something durable for his trek through Kuro Shiro Forest. He had a feeling he'd find the dragons somewhere in the mountains, and the only way to gain access to the mountains was through the forest. Such a hassle. Dragons never made it easy.
Nor did slave traders.
Doing a once over of his inn suite, Aoi sighed and scratched the back of his head. I'll head down to the lobby, grab a bite to eat in the dining room, and then head out. With any luck, he would be in and out of the inn and searching for the dragons in no time at all.
[Exit Aoi to the Lobby.]

[Enter Aoi from Quirky Clothing.]
Aoi slid the card key through the electronic lock and opened the door for Kira to step inside. It had been a long day, and he was tired, but he still had so many things to do before he could just knock out. "Welcome to my temporary home. It's not much, but it's good," he said as he walked over to the kitchen table and pulled out his laptop from his enchanted cigar case. He motioned for Kira to sit as he stared at the laptop screen and waited for it to boot up. "By the way, if you wish, you can sleep in my room tonight. I'll sleep on the pullout couch," he said as the screen finally loaded and his desktop appeared. The desktop featured a photograph of the Grand Canyon on a clear summer's day that he took back in 1975. It was a good picture. It took him awhile to digitally restore it after scanning it from the Polaroid photo.

{Enter Kira from quirky's clothing}
Kira entered through the door offered by Zaya, looking over all of it in a single glance and smiling at how simple and humble it was. "I do not mind, it is good, I like it." She took the offered seat, watching in curiosity as a small machine purred to life in front of her. At his comment on sleeping arrangements her mouth opened in protest, but what words she was going to say were interrupted as the machine opened a portal to a vast canyon she had never seen before and she gave startled cry as she jumped in her seat, hair momentarily jetting up in flame. Tentatively she reached out and touched the machine, only to find that what felt like glass. After a second of processing, she remembered what Zaya had called a TV and realized that this must of a similar sort of machine. She gave a sheepish look over at Zaya, redness flooding her entire frame in her form of a blush of embarrassment. "Sorry." Then, trying to save face, she pointed at the machine, "This is how I will see Pele?" she asked, looking imploringly up at Zaya.

Aoi watched Kira and actually found her reaction amusing. He really wanted to laugh just because it was funny. It was like watching someone experiencing a jump scare. The novelty of watching other people being scared was hilarious. "Hey, I'm just glad you didn't melt the thing, and yes." he said as he connected to the hotel's WiFi. It took only a minute, but soon he was connected.
Then Aoi double tapped the Skype icon on his desktop. He tapped a few more icons on the app before Pele came into view. Of course, he kept Kira out of view. "Whaddup, Tūtū Pele. How's the weather? No fiery Hell-storms?" he asked, casual and annoying to anyone who expected to an emergency from him, but just got his blasé attitude. "Well, anyways, here's a present for you." With a slightly over-dramatic flourish, Aoi turned the laptop around so it would face Kira. Surprise.~"

Kira could feel he was wanting to laugh and she supposed that her her reaction would have been funny to someone who was used to such machine, but she still gave a little pout all the while. That is until she heard Zaya speaking with someone very familiar and then swiveling the machine towards her to see what could only be her cousin Pele. It was amazing how similar they were to each other, only with subtle differences: Pele was more defined in muscle, with tanner skin and wavy black hair instead of ashen gray. Her face was a little rounder, but otherwise it was surprising how close they looked like each other. Kira took off the necklace Zaya gave her so that she could speak with the modern people. She gave an incandescent smile as spoke to her in Pele's native tongue "Aloha Pele, it has been too long and I have missed you so." she said, nearly laughing and crying at the same time.

[I guess I'll play Pele for a bit?]
"Aloha, Kira. Sister, I have missed you so. Where have you been?!" Aoi heard Pele exclaimed. When he moved to stand behind Kira, he saw tears well in her eyes. "Oh, Kira, how I've missed you. Our brothers and sisters thought you dead! 'Olulo nona, how did you find her?You must tell me." "Trapped in a sword wielded by a madman who enjoys enslaving people," said Aoi as stood behind Kira and stared at Pele, then against at Kira. He could see how they were related. Now that he saw them together, he saw their similarities. It was odd how it didn't click in his head how they looked so much alike. He supposed it was because he did not know Pele was originally a fire elemental. "He's still at large, but I thought it was more important for you to see each other again." "Poino loa pololei," Pele said and leaned back in the wicker chair she was sitting in. "But Aoi, do not let harm come to my sister, or allow that madman to get his hands on her once again. I could not stand losing her for a second time, lest I destroy all in my path." "Understood. I'm gonna go eat something. I'm hungry." "You always are, Aoi." He made an over-dramatic aghast face before departing for the kitchen. "Call me if you need me," he said as he took out the cake from earlier and set it in the fridge.
What to cook? First, he needed food to cook. Picking up his phone, he Googled the number for the local grocery store and saved it to his contacts. The store also had online orders and delivery. It was a halal store, which meant good food was sure to wait for him. He quickly created his grocery list and paid for it. Now he just needed to wait for it to come.

[Yes please and thank you, I've always been horrible when it comes to two+ conversations with my characters, while you've always been great at it.]
Kira did her best to be patient while Pele spoke with Zaya quickly, but one could easily tell her excitement and happiness by how brightly she seemed to be glowing at the time. Even her hair seemed to liven up from its usual ashen grey to a more lively red, as though a cinder had sparked back up to a fire in the ashes; though it momentarily reverted as Zaya spoke of how she was found, traces of that past coming back to send her into a panic. But that was quickly lost with Pele's voice. Kira watched as Zaya left, presumably to get more food, a thought that Kira greatly looked forward to, as she was hungry again.
AS soon she he left, Kira turned back to Pele with a wide grin full of incandescent teeth. "So you're a goddess now? When did this happen koʻu hawawa kaikuahine? Last I remember they barely knew you existed! And how do you know Zaya, you called him a castaway that has to be a good story. Oh! And all of my sisters and aunts? Do I have any new ones? Or what about my mother, she is she still active? Oh, there's so much!" Kira gushed excitedly, flaring bright enough momentarily to be confused for a bonfire, before cooling herself down, worried she might burn something in her exuberance.

[Your welcome. I think you're great with two+ conversations with your characters, but thank you. I just try to have as much fun with my characters as possible. I just try to write conversations in a way that'll show off the characters' personalities when they interact.]
Pele glowed, quite literally, as she and her dear, long-lost sister could now freely speak to each other. Her bosom hurt knowing her Kira had been trapped all these centuries by a madman. Had she known, she would have let the foolish mortal feel her volcanic wrath. Brimstone would rain down from the sky and the rivers would run red with blood. However, Pele would not act so rashly, not when Aoi was watching over Kira. He would watch and protect her until she was ready to strike out alone in the current modern era. All eras were modern, as everything was contemporary.
But now her mind was wandering off. Refocusing on the now, Pele thought of current events. Now that Aoi was off scavenging for food, he would not interrupt them unless he found something disagreeable with what she said. Flipping her hair, to buy herself some time to think, Pele beamed at Kira from across the computer screen. "Ah, let's see...I became a goddess many years ago, maikai kaikuwahine o koʻu. Perhaps it was during the time I acquired my lightning and wind powers? I forget. It's trifling to think about, especially now that my people, those who once worshiped me, have dwindled and continue to dwindle in numbers. The era of industry has destroyed much of the beauty I created. I uwe i koʻu hale a me na kanaka." The warm glow of her skin dimmed as she spoke of these sad events. Yes, once she was worshiped by more than a billion people, but now, she was a thing of legends. The few Hawai'ians that still believed in her and the other deities were also dwindling.
To cheer herself up, Pele decided it was time to speak of Kira's mother and the other fire elementals. "As for your mother, sisters, and aunts, yes, they are doing well. Your mother recently erupted in 2010. Three news sisters were born of her. They are cheeky little things, but I do adore them. Now, as for me and Aoi, that is a good story," Pele grinned as she remembered Kira also wished to know how she and Aoi met one another. "Aoi came upon my shores, starved and nude. His clothing having disintegrated from many days beneath the sun and he had not eaten in just as much time. His skin was browned from the sun as well. I nearly thought he was one of my worshipers, but none were as beautiful as him, even near death." She could hear Aoi in the background, but she ignored him. "He was searching for a way to heal his heart and also end his life in old age." "Don't romanticize the story, Pele. Half of my descendants already believe it. I maopopo iaʻu? Ko kākou moʻolelo, ka mea aole he aloha moʻolelo." Pele could tell Aoi wasn't in agreement with her, but he rarely was when she told the story of how they met. "Ae, Ae, e kuu aloha," she said while stifling her laughter. Shaking her head, Pele continued her story: "Kona koikoi kaikuahine, Akane, had died and he fell into a depression, but he would never admit that. The ocean and sea spirits and elementals had told him of a land where one can be healed of all sorts of curses and ailments. Aoi hoped to cure himself of his curse of immortality."
Leaning back in her wicker chair, Pele let her gaze drift off into the distance as her mind was carried away, back to the past. "From what he told me, he had gotten on a small sea-faring vessel, well stocked, and set forth to find this land. The ocean and sea spirits were to guide him. However, the wind spirits, mischievous as they can be, and some malicious, convinced the ocean and sea spirits to let them help guide Aoi. The result was several ʻinoʻino and his path lost. None known if his destination was my islands, but that was where he washed ashore."
Aoi could hear Pele loud and clear, but he knew when she got into that wistful way of hers, he couldn't bring her out. Instead, he just focused on ordering food and paying for it. He needed meat for Kira, he knew that much, and lots of produce for himself. "I can make stir fry tonight," he mumbled to himself before wandering over to the sitting room couch and plopping himself on it. Aoi continued to listen to Pele's voice as she continued to tell her story. "When Aoi washed ashore, he was delirious, but he still had the will to live. It took a long time to return him to a healthy state, and even a longer time for him, the Hawai'ians, the other gods, and myself, to properly communicate. It made things easier to understand his quirks and triggers, like, he doesn't eat meat because of his past. The taste of meat makes him sick." "Which is why I always refused it and why you'd try to fry me for appearing to be rude to the Hawai'ians hosting me in their home," he quipped. "Right, that did cause problems, along with cultural differences and how you'd seduce every young man and woman on sight. Once the language barrier was taken down, it seemed every youth on the islands wanted a chance of being courted or of courting him." "Okay, listen, they went after me. I did no seducing whatsoever. It's not fault I have a pretty face. It's a pain in the a** when men confuse me with women, and then when they just don't care that I'm a man. Besides, you were one of those youth gawking at me, too." "I was not." "Yes you were. Laka, Poliʻahu, and Menehune all said you and some others were competing to win my heart." "What?! Those sneaks! Arg, whatever. Past is past. It doesn't matter anymore. We all soon learned you were asexual."

Kira smiled as she listened to her sister through the machine, blinking in surprise when she heard that she had gained powers beyond those of her birth, and then presenting a small signal of mourning as Pele spoke of her people, tapping the middle of her forehead before placing the same hand over her heart, as she was taught by a people she never learned the name of. The Hawaiians were good people, Kira remembered, always happy and enjoying of life, and it saddened her to hear they were slowly going away.
She quickly perked back up upon hearing that her mother was still active, though she had no idea of how long ago 2010 was it seemed recent and the prospect of new siblings by her mother lightened her heart considerably. She idly wondered if her mother remembered her, and Kira resolved to make sure she visited soon, though that might cause another eruption and her mother wasn't fond of hurting the humans.
She leaned in as Pele began to weave a tale of how she and Zaya met, though she called him Aoi. Kira found herself laughing boisterously as Pele described his antics on the island, listening to Zaya squawking in protest in that English language and in Pele's tongue. But all the same she kept a small part of her pondering on the past of Zaya, of how he lost his sister and wanted to end his life. She wiped an eye free of lava, letting to dissolve back into her skin so that it would not burn Zaya's things "Well no matter the way, I am glad he came to your lands Pele. Otherwise I would not be free and would never be before you, though he could have at least tried some of the food, hawawa Zaya." Kira said graciously, before switching to her birth tongue of Old Norse to say "You have all of my heart thanks, Sister Pele" before she asked innocently in Hawaiian again "What of my cousins in Pompeii? They were with me when... when things happened." referring to the moment she was captured. She had been visiting her aunt Vesuvius, enjoying the company of her cousins when... when she had been lost. At this thought her hair began to return to ash
{At this she's speaking about the eruption of Mount Vesuvius, in Kira's history it was Porath that caused the eruption when her cousins saw her being taken away. They essentially did the Roman thing and decided to take everyone down to take him down. Didn't work sadly. Thought it would highlight their age and Porath's ruthlessness.}

Pele was smiling until Kira mentioned Pompeii. Behind her sister, she could see Aoi stiffening, though she was certain he did not understand Old Norse, he did understand Pompeii. However, he remained silent, leaving her the duty of informing her sister of the Pompeii's fate. "Pompeii...was destroyed the day you disappeared. Aunt Vesuvius and her children...all the humans who could not escape, they perished.
"E kala mai, e kuʻu kaikuwahine. One day they were alive, and the next they were not." Pele sat in silence for what felt like eternity, even for an immortal goddess such as herself. For nearly two thousand years, she had thought of the cause of Pompeii's demise. Pele had wondered what caused her fellow fire elementals to destroy the thriving city they loved so much. She, like so many fire elementals, had searched for the reason Vesuvius had died. The old and respected volcano had been sleeping a well deserved nap when she suddenly erupted and killed everyone before dying herself. It was a senseless act.
Finally, after much thought, Pele came to a conclusion. "Perhaps...it was this madman who killed Aunt Vesuvius and our cousins?" she asked Kira in Old Norse. Then, in English, she asked Aoi: "What is the name of the man who did this to koʻu ʻohana. Tell me."
Aoi didn't bother getting up to look over the couch at Pele. After all these centuries, he knew the kind of look she'd have. Her skin would glow like magma beneath rock, her eyes would pierce like a obsidian, and her facial expression set like granite. "I will tell you once you are calm. Kira, please do not tell her his name," he advised from his position on the couch.
