What is it liek to be one of these? I think I might be one. After going on a mission trip to build a house for a family with a house that was like nothing. It seems useful; to use christian magic, for blessings shieldings and stuff liek that, Does that seem correct to anyone in any sort of way?

Well, I'm not sure here... A christio-wiccan or christio-witch would be kinda contradictory, but I'm not sure as to how it would work if you're an Ecclectic Pagan... Of course, watch the combination in terms, technically, there is no "christian magic", because magick is given by the devil.

I've heard the term thrown around a lot.

Bayne Wraithson witch = wiccan IMHO its all about faith, not just the good book. witches aren't necessarily wiccans... you can practice witchcraft without following the wiccan belief systems. to be a wiccan, you have to be initiated into a lineaged coven... the term "wiccan" is quite often used mistakenly.

Well, I suppose the exception to being Wiccan would be a Solitary, but then again, some Wiccans don't consider them to be 'real' Wiccans. And a little thing that helps me remember: Witchcraft is a part of Wicca, but Wicca is not a part of Witchcraft.

Wicca is definitely not the same thing as witchcraft, though they share similarities. Wicca is a religion, and withcraft a system.

Bayne Wraithson And witch seems likea VERY derogatory term to me. It's only derogatory because Christians have vilified it for so many years. No one who calls themselves a witch (nor really any pagan) would be offended by it.

Although to any non-pagan, it would probably be considered offensive, to someone who has knowledge in the subject, they'd probably simply correct them. I should probably add that some non-pagans do know about these kinds of things, it's just most don't really know the differences.

Mistranslation alert! The word in ancient Hebrew that was translated to "witch" was more likely to have meant "poisoner". Also I think that if you can intertwine those beliefs at a level that makes you happy, and isn't hurting anyone, then by all means go ahead and do it.

Also I think that if you can intertwine those beliefs at a level that makes you happy, and isn't hurting anyone, then by all means go ahead and do it. Except that it's said directly in the New Testament "do not look to the stars for your fortune" or something to that effect. Which technically only directly forbids divination, but it could easily be interpreted to mean star goddesses or any goddes since the sky is her domain. Praying for miracles is sufficiently different than spellcasting to make most christian denominations wary.

I realise that, but the Christian faith follows the New Testament more than the Old. In fact, there apparently isn't even a word for 'witch' in Hebrew...
