Hey everyone it's been quiet some time since I've been here. I kind of need some help. I'm graduating from culinary school this semester and have to take a final practical exam. We have to make a cake from scratch and decorate it. The problem is I'm having a difficult time coming up with how I want to decorate the cake. I'm planning on baking a fluffy white cake with buttercream icing. if you can give me some ideas I would truly appreciate the help. Thanks for your help.

To be more specific, since I agree with that Halloween idea, try doing a pumpkin with orange icing.

My instructor just informed me yesterday that I am scheduled to take the exam in December. I was hoping it would be sooner but I guess not. so if you guys could help me think of a winter theme that would be great.

since it's winter themed you could do a snow globe kinda cake (my boyfriend said it could have a winter seen in it with like deer and a moose and stuff oh oh oh a chocolate moose lolz) =D.

Ryuichi Kawashi All this talk of cake is making me hungry!!! emotion_omnomnom Trust me try making this cake, 4 chocolate eclaire's, paris-brest's, Pate choux swans, 12 portions of banana bread, and a strawberry tart. I'll be hungry once I get started baking them all lol.

Hello and happy holidays to everyone,
I took my exam last week and I am very excited to say that I passed the exam and I am now a Certified Pastry Chef. Again I would like to thank everyone for your wonderful ideas. I decided to use a winter wonderland theme with fondant and buttercream. I wish I was able to get a picture so I could show everyone but unfortunately we weren't allowed to take pictures. But I dedicated the cake I made to all of you because if it wasn't for your ideas I don't know how I would of made it. so again thank you all and I hope to see you all in 2015.
