History: A long distant cousin of the queen, Maurice's father William inherited the title of marquis from his father and took the position very seriously. He was loyal to the House of White and did everything in his power to keep the borders safe from the enemies of the royal family. He intended that his first born son, Maurice, would do the same. Yet Maurice wasn't quite as dedicated to the job as his father would have liked. True, he was a formidable fencer and took to horses like a duck to water, but Maurice had other interests too. He was a natural born rebel and relished going against his father at every possible moment. He would skip classes with his tutor or ride out when he was supposed to be training. His father cursed him for being idle and immature.
Yet despite his early teen state, Maurice excelled in his studies and began to develop his first animal form at the age of 14. The handsome crow was a perfect form, the symbol of his family; their quick wit and ability to seize any opportunity given to them. Maurice felt a new sense of freedom in his animal form that he was eager to explore and develop.
But before his 15th birthday, his mother died giving birth to his younger sister. Naturally, Maurice retreated into himself, angry at his sibling for killing his mother. He lashed out further, throwing himself into any parties in the vicinity. His teen years were spend drinking, gambling and generally being unruly. Fearing repercussions from the Queen for his son's behaviour, William threatened to evict his son from the family if he didn't tame his wild nature. For a few years, this seemed to work. While still wild, Maurice seemed to get himself back under control and threw himself into the role of marquis. He even began to grow fond of his sister. She was so much like his mother and something Maurice knew he had to protect no matter what.
At the age of 19, Maurice's father grew sick and slowly deteriorated. While he was confined to his bed, Maurice took over the role of marquis in his stead and showed he had a natural talent for the role. Therefore it was only right that he took the role permanently on his father's death. Suddenly Maurice was free once more. He had power and money and revelled in it. But alas, there was still a rebellious streak in the young man. He loved the parties, the women and the drink and he also loved cards and betting on anything with legs. Soon money was tight. In order to keep up his lavish lifestyle, Maurice needed a source of income and fast.
In secret, Maurice went out in the dead of night dressed in dark clothes. Using his shifter skills and everything his father taught him, Maurice would ride out into the other regions of wonderland and pray on those travelling along dark and secluded roads. The adrenaline he got from robbing was unlike any other he had experienced and even when funds had stabilised, Maurice went out on the odd nights to pray on the defenceless. He made sure to go some distance from the kingdom so as not to anger the Queen.
Personality: Maurice is a born play boy. He enjoys the benefits his father position brings, including the money and all the party invitations. Many describing as charming and flirtatious, often sweet talking his way out of any trouble or getting anything he wants. Constantly in and out of trouble, Maurice needs his quick wit and contacts to ensure he stays on the right side of the royal court. He is very much a social butterfly, thoroughly enjoying the company of others. Adrenaline junkie of sort and a bit of a thrill seeker, Maurice will try anything daring for a rush but is sure to know his limits. He can be loyal to those he cares for most and those he feels ensure his position.
Appearance: 
Include a written description as well. Do they have any scars, tattoos, birthmarks, or anything else note worthy? How do they dress, and carry themselves when they walk?
Armor: Weapons: Rapier sword that he carries with him when on duty or in court. Two pistols when out on his nightly duties. Maurice also keeps a dagger in his boot at all times, just to be on the safe side.
Powers: Shape shifting abilities - can transform into a crow and is currently mastering a maned wolf. Is also experimenting with the ability to shift into shadows, although this is far from perfect.
