Atlas: Pokemon Trainer Academy



Welcome trainers to Atlas, the Pokemon Academy. It is the first year for our glorious school, and we hope that you will be joining us as our first class this year.

We have brought in "starter" pokemon from all across the regions for trainers to choose from, and work with. Once they have decided on their pokemon, that pokemon will become their partner for the rest of their lives. Once students have enrolled, they are asked to stop in at the daycare to choose the pokemon that they want. Their are no take backs, or switching. Once the decision is made, it is done.

Students will then be divided up into four houses, where they will live while at the school. It is encouraged that they continue to befriend students from all houses. However, one's house will become their family, and it will be up to them to work together to earn points- winning the Trainer Cup as one team.

Nemesis - The house of justice

Nemesis serves justice to all across the pokemon world. They believe in equality, and do not believe in mercy for those who have done wrong. Honesty, and integrity are important traits that all Nemesis students must share, as well as a deep desire right the wrongs committed in the world.

Kratos is the house that believes in living each day seeking adventure. The house believes that the world is for the living, and so it must be lived. Each day is a gift, not to be taken for granted. Students with Kratos must be brave, fearless, and most importantly will crave the freedom every day offers them.

Chiron is a house that exemplifies wisdom through knowledge. They believe that to create change, we must first understand the world around us. Life is one great lesson from which we learn. All students must have a thirst for knowledge, and a wish to share their wisdom with the world.

Eirene - The house of peace

Eirene is the house of compassion towards all pokemon. They believe in that there is good in the world, and that the only way to create sustainable peace, is to foster a culture of acceptance, and understanding between all people, and pokemon. Students must be kind, open-minded, and pure of heart.

Rules

Rules aren't very fun, but they are needed. On top of the guild rules, these are the ones that are more RP specific.

1. Please attempt to write a paragraph. Don't feel bad if its a lazy day, we all have one. But I would like to see character development, which includes descriptions, thoughts, feelings, etc.

2. When encountering wild Pokemon… I will be setting up a system where you can encounter wild Pokemon! OMG! It will be chance, you will roll for a number, and voila, it'll happen! At the moment, the wilds are off limits. The reserved spaces will set that up soon! Soon…

3. Can your character have a pokemon from home? Um yes, but please message me first. It has to fit into your characters plot line/profile, and there would have to be a reason for it. If you just don't like the Pokemon I've put up, message me and we can figure something out.

4. Absolutely no God-modding. There are NPC characters that we can all borrow from, but please be aware of where the characters are so that Nurse Joy isn't in five rooms at once. Also, if you are a student, you are not going to over power a teacher's Pokemon. Just use logic. Please. Its easy, I promise.

5. Catching Pokemon! Yup, that will also be up to chance. And you will only have a certain number of poke balls to use… So… don't waste them! This will be better explained when the wilds are open to students!

Classes have approximately 30 students each from differing houses.
Battle Strategy takes place outside in the courtyard, rain or shine. Only in rare cases of extreme weather is the class ever held at the indoor gym.

Breakfast (7:30am), lunch (11:00am-12pm), and dinner (5:00pm) are held in the Great Hall. Seating is random, first come first basis. Teachers sit at the front of the Hall to help keep watch of the students. Snacks are always available throughout the day.

Classes begin at 9:00am, and last until 3:00pm

Background: Josh grew up in the big city of Castelia in the Unova region and as such always saw many Pokemon trainers come through on their way to fight the gym leader and for the major events that always took place in his city. As a young boy Josh had a hard life growing up in a foster home where nobody knew him or cared to know him. However one day Nurse Joy came to the orphanage to show off some Pokemon that just like him had been abandoned by their masters and Josh took to the Pokemon right away. Nurse Joy saw this and how kindly he had treated the Pokemon compared to the other children who just saw them as Pokemon that fought. Josh was adopted by nurse Joy shortly after and since then grew up always tending to the Pokemon who were just like him. When he reached the age of 15 Nurse Joy gave Josh a pamphlet telling him "Go and become the adventurer you always wanted to be Josh and become the greatest Pokemon trainer ever" and now Josh is at the most prestigious school for Pokemon trainers ready to keep that promise to his mother.

Background: Charlotte Rosaline comes from a town called Moirai that resides in a new region across the western seas, Astronima. Charlotte and her big brother Raymond have live a happy childhood surrounded by love and Pokémon on a big estate own by their father Carlisle. Both their parents were born into wealth just as Charlotte and Raymond are now but have brought to be more sensible and kind rather than being spoiled rotten children. Their mother Mary made sure of that… One time, Charlotte’s father had almost lost their home and everything they owned when Carlisle almost made bad business with an old family friend but luckily they have avoided such a fate or both Charlotte and her brother wouldn’t have been sent to such fine schools. Although, Raymond and Charlotte attend two different schools during their teen years as Raymond attends a school of business to someday inherit his family’s estate while Charlotte chose a different path. She wanted to travel and learn more about Pokémon and was then sent to a Pokémon Academy.
Other: When Charlotte’s father almost lost his estate to a family friend was Carlisle offered another way out if he could not repay the money in time and that was to marry Charlotte with this suppose family friend’s grandson. This way Carlisle would still have a home for his family but would work under someone rather than for himself. Luckily such terms would never come to life.

Background: Lady's parents own a chain of resorts across Kalos, and several other regions. Growing up in a wealthy family, Lyra was kept secluded as a means of protecting her. Her parents, Richard and Bianca Labelle, were terrified that their daughter would be kidnapped for ransom. Thus she lived a sheltered life, even while living in a large city. Everywhere she went, she was escorted by family servers or body guards to ensure her protection from unknown criminals. While her parents were cautious, and fearful, Lady became restless with a need to explore, to know the world around her. Finally on her fifteenth birthday, Lady convinced her parents to send her away to the prestigious school, instead of spending yet another school year at home with tutors. It is her first year in a real school, and she is nervous, as well as excited about making real friends.
Other: Lyra prefers to go by a childhood nickname "Lady." A part of this reason is she does not want the other students to know that she is a Labelle, from Labelle Resorts. She feels guilty about hiding her identity, but is curious to know how people would respond to her without her family's fortune attached. Making real friends based on who she is, has become her main goal of attending the school.

School Culture and News

On school days, students are required to wear their school uniform. Each student has three of each item on hand unless they asked to purchase more.



Dress Code:

All students wear their designated outfits including house ties. Each house has a different tie based on their colours, as well as a pin that they can wear either on the tie, or on their sweater/jacket.
