Well tis been a while since I have made a thread like this. But my mind is wandering and I have an hour to kill so here goes.
What is love I think I understand but it seems I don't. I wish to understand so that I might try to love myself or another. Most people describe it as "You just know" that is not good enough for me. I want to know so I can be sure.
Most people say there are three kinds of love unconditonal, platonic, and ummm.... for lack of a better term "true". This confuses me a little much like the lines that seperate good and evil it is very very gray all over. I like to think of love as a general concern for the well-being of a person. Whether that person is a random strange or your parent. I feel this simplifes things and makes things easier to love.
What do you think??

I think love is just a word that you say when you want to get into someone's pants or get something from someone...but that's just because I'm a lonely, lonely perosn, and I plan on being like that for a long, long time.

failsafe I think love is just a word that you say when you want to get into someone's pants or get something from someone...but that's just because I'm a lonely, lonely perosn, and I plan on being like that for a long, long time. Well I did forget to mention that in the begining but it sounds less philosophical when I talk about societys' look on sex and love. But yes I hear you me lonely too why do you think I ask these questions

Love is...well, my sister says it's different for each person. For me it's feeling safe and comfortable and excited and a little nervous and...well, lots of things, all at the same time. Usually safe and comfortable and warm, though. But when your heart gets broken it sucks. It sucks so much. And when you're in love with someone who'll never be in love with you it's like the snowmobile...

I think love is when you'd do anything just to make a person happy. Your happyness depends on their happyness. It can kind of suck sometimes because if they're not happy you're not happy, but when they are, it's the greatest feeling in the world. You lose control of you're life when you fall in love because so much depends on some one else besides you, but the warm fuzzy feeling of having that other person care that much about your happyness in return can't be beaten.
Yes, I know that was sappy, but that's what love is to me.

Love is nothing. I hear it fills the hole inside you. I don't have a hole inside of me. I hear it makes you excited. Great, I'll watch a horror movie at three in the morning. Supposedly the touching thing is great. Kissing is just putting your mouth on the sweet end of 60 odd feet of intestine.

Could you give me an example or two please I just want to understand But you got the whole anatomical part of kissing right but you forgot the mouth is also part of the respitory system as well

I mean yes makeing some one else happy is great and all but if your not happy is that love?? Love and happyness are not the same unfortunatly. The two are linked, but not identical. If you love some one and try to make them happy and fail or they do not love you back, you can be very unhappy, but that doesn't mean you're anyless in love. That's when love can really suck because you can't just make yourself stop careing.

I dunno, I just don't get this whole "love" thing. Yeah. It's a guy. Sure, he's cute. Yeah, he's got a p***s. ...So what? It doesn't do anything for me. Doesn't help that I'm at a college where everyone around me is in love and I don't see what the big deal is.

Brandon Taylor Love and happyness are not the same unfortunatly. The two are linked, but not identical. If you love some one and try to make them happy and fail or they do not love you back, you can be very unhappy, but that doesn't mean you're anyless in love. That's when love can really suck because you can't just make yourself stop careing. I as just thinking that if your in love you should me happy not sad
