"Tell what you remember."

"There was snow. It was cold, and dark.
I could feel my life slipping from me as I walked.."
The small girl wrapped herself up in her cape.
"I was alone.. But I didn't feel I was."

"Why were you out there, alone?"

"I don't know. I was accused of witchcraft, and banished.
As I walked I fell into the snow.
Too weak to stand. There was nothing left..
Not even hope. And so I began to cry. I was dead.
But I wasn't.
I looked up and saw a girl.
She was in a thin cloak, deep black.
Just before I passed out she put down her hood.
Her hair was red, and her eyes were black."

"Black?"

"Like a void."

"..Continue."

"Before I passed out, she told me everything would be okay..
Then I woke up. I was sitting next to a rock.
I felt warm, well fed, healthy..
And I was wearing this cloak. Just like hers, but smaller.
I had to keep going, though, or I'd die again..
The cloak kept me warmer, like it was a fire, but I still had no food.
I went as far as I could, but the next day I fell, again.
But just before I passed out again she appeared.
Her hood was already down, this time.
She was pretty.
As she came close again she said;
'Keep moving.'
As I was about to ask who she was I passed out."

"And awoke again."

"With a basket of food.
Bread, mostly.
Same rock.
I walked farther; the food kept me fed..
But I didn't know where I was going.
I had no hope. And gave in."

"You fell?"

"And she came. She said 'The Spire'.
I woke at the rock again.
I was heading for a spire. And then I saw it.
A pillar of light shooting into the sky.
It made me feel safe. But as I touched it it ran into my body, and burned.
A lot.
As I cried from the pain She appeared.
I yelled for her help, asked her who she was, and what was going on.
She knelt beside me, and told me her name was Alex.
And that she was sorry."

"Then?"

"A black tentacle stroked my face and the burning stopped.
But I couldn't feel.
She laid me down gently in the snow..
I could feel a darkness rush over me, as she walked away.
But then she stopped.
I heard her say 'Lun', all panic like, before I passed out.
When I woke up I was here.
I was hurting everwhere.. Especially on my face.
Where the cut was.
It kept letting out black smoke instead of blood.
It blocked my eye, so I decided to wrap half my face in bandages, that I'd brought for if I get hurt.
Cover the cut, so people didn't look at me weird."

"Does it still hurt?"

"I'm used to the pain."

"..I'm sorry."

"Don't be. You saved my life.
One of several miracles."
