Personality Calm: Nothing’s going to ruffle these feathers. Her sister can do all the reactions for her, so she can focus instead on what needs to be done. Perhaps it is not so much calm as a lack of motivation to expend energy.
Stoic: While her sister expresses every emotion under the sun, Byakko’s face remains impassive and neutral. As children all she had to do was let her sister bring on the tears, and any victories that come from it is naturally granted to herself; their parents would never show favoritism between twins, after all.
Logical: Practicality wins over sentimentality. With a natural fondness for reading about the universe at large, Byakko would have made a wonderful scholar had she not picked up defensive fighting instead. Her decisions are made with little emotion as a counterbalance to her twin.
Personal space: Why are you touching me? Why are you touching my sister? The twins simply never liked to be touched by others, even as toddlers. A friendly touch on the shoulder will send the perpetrator flying over and landing on their back. Over time, Byakko is more likely to grin and bear it than her sister, but any unforeseen touch will still result in a flip.
Closeted cute lover: Why would such a practical girl as Byakko wear her hair so long? Because it’s cute, that’s why. Know what else is cute? Ruffles, but there’s no way she can be caught in such impractical, cute things when she’s so tall! Leave the laces and frills to the smaller girls, but--omai, is that a skitty? Oh and look at that cute little meowth! Ogosh and that purrloin! So adorable! I DIDN’T SAY ANYTHING GOSH. Her one concession to outbursts of emotion.
History Byakko and her twin sister Kirin moved around a lot as children. Their father was a communications and satellite engineer, and their mother was a landscaper hired by cities to plan out the gardens around communication towers so as to fit in with the city’s decor. As the twins constantly moved around, they socialized primarily with each other and, as a result, became social recluses. While her sister Kirin became incredibly sensitive and locked herself in her room, Byakko became more apathetic and took it upon herself to do any mandated socializing for the both of them. Byakko prefers solitude over company, but at least is able to operate with others as normal while her sister locks herself in any corner with a computer.
Their tendency towards introversion lead them to be the target of bullies. Although Byakko held an interest in studying planets, stars, and the universe, it was her encounter with bullies that lead her to her physical prowess. Byakko took up self defense to protect her sister and herself, and decided the best way to continue protecting them was to join the police academy. She uses others’ strength against them by quietly calculating direction, force, and moves, which lead her to succeed in the academy. Her lack of motivation to progress ranks, however, was often met with confusion. She has the uniform, and therefore enough authority to keep her sister safe, and therefore it is unnecessary to expend further energy on a job.
Shortly after turning 25, Byakko was transferred to Zatao. Her sister came with her, and the duo have settled in Katarina. Due to her fairly unknown stature, the force decided to set her as their undercover agent at Team Galactic. To become a necessary piece for Team Galactic to accept her, Byakko used her sister to fake a prowess in hacking and technology. Armed with her sister’s holographic rotom, Byakko can freely communicate with Kirin and get any necessary information from her to proceed with her “job” in a more realistic manner.
