 Day was becoming dusk, but the sun was still high up in the sky. Still enough day light to allow Dhiren to bounce about and find new interesting things. He had spent a lot of his time alone as of late. Asami off doing her own thing, and sometimes they'd run into each other which was one thing he liked the most about his day. She was a hyper one, and always doing her own thing, and Dhiren was more of a learning type. He liked to find new things and explore new places.
His biggest fascination was bugs... Beetles more specifically. He just enjoyed them. They were so interesting! So many, and there was always new ones where ever he went. He had named each one he found, and remembered all of them he had named. Today, that was what he was doing. Looking at trees to find new species to inspect and name and study.

Eotei was taking his stroll through the woods as he always did, making sure to greet each of the woodland critters he passed for he considered each and every one of them his family. Flicking an ear he looked down the path towards the center of the forest, the orange light from the sunset began to glow in spots through the tree's branches above. Kicking a rock from the path, Eotei caught a whiff of something unfamiliar on the breeze and he paused in his steps. Sniffing the air he began walking off from the beaten path towards the new smell, keeping himself quiet as possible for he didn't know what to expect. Finally he came to a slight clearing in the trees where one had broken down due to an autumn storm last year, it's stump now covered in moss. From there Eotei saw a long tailed ulaya who appeared to be counting bugs. Tilting his head to the side with curiosity, he leaned behind a tree allowing his natural camouflage to keep him out of sight as he watched the newcomer to the forest.

Dhiren stretched out on one of the closest trees to him. Letting is claws feel the bark underneath his paws. It had been quite the day, and he was in need of a good stretch before he was to climb this tree. How ever that was going to happen.
After stretching, he circled the tree slowly trying to find a way up it. He wasn't the best climbing creature in the world, and he found it always quite difficult getting a foot on starting. "Well, if I put my paw there...." He said to himself as he circle the tree one more time before his awkward attempt.
With that, he wiggled his but and jumped at the tree, clinging to it with dear life as if there wasn't the ground a foot below him. Less than a foot, in reality. his back paws dug into the tree as hard as he could, and his front paws sort of hugged the tree. Now.... how was he going to scoot up the tree?
What ever possessed him to try to find bugs in the trees?

Eotei laughed to himself as he watched the male struggle to get into the tree. It wasn't often he found company within his part of the forest and he usually avoided any strange ulayas that may wander towards his home but this one was amusing and it intrigued him. Finally deciding he wasn't a thread, the brown ulaya stepped out from behind the trees he found shelter from and began walking towards the other ulaya. Stopping at a tree, he effortlessly leaped up and grabbed onto a low hanging branch before pulling himself up onto it. He lived among the trees and he had mastered how to move around with without any problems. "You'll never get up there that way." He said, still slightly hiding behind branches but also within clear sight of the other ulaya, should he actually look in his direction.

The voice started Dhiren and he slipped from his grip on to the ground. "Waaaaaah!" he screamed as he did so. Landing on his butt, he looked around but saw nothing at all. Was... was the tree talking to him. He circled the tree once, then sat back where he had fallen. No one was in view, that he could tell.
"Did.... did you just speak?" he said looking at the tree intently. Like.... was that even possible? He was confused and wasn't sure what exactly to say. "how... how do you suggest I get up there then?" Of course, trees would have the most knowledge in this sort of thing. How strange! He came to find bugs, and he found a talking tree. What was it's name.
"What should I call you?"

Quite amusing, Eotei couldn't help but chuckle to himself. "Get better footing of course." He continued to sit on his perch and watch the boy in his utter confusion. The brown ulaya didn't think he was that well hidden but perhaps he didn't take in account for his natural camouflage either. "I'm Eotei, who are you?" He answered back to the ulaya's question. "You're not from around here." He finished, stating the obvious.

OH MY GOD! The tree knew his secret! Was it a secret though? No, not really. But if a tree knew he wasn't around here, then so would everything else. His heart was sort of racing, though he wasn't really sure why yet. The words flowed through his head though. "How... Footing? But I had footing?" Now being insulted by a tree was sorta weird. Was it an insult, no probably not. It was being helpful...
"I'm Dhiren." He spoke with a slow nod. He wondered if trees had eyes, though didn't know if that'd be rude to ask. He thought for a moment. "How would you find good footing then?" This was silly... Talking to a tree.... but it was fascinating too! Oh how he could tell everyone trees can talk! What would they say? They wouldn't believe him of course.

"Find a notch in the trunk and use that to grip onto. He lifted a paw and looked at it, admiring the claws which he let slide out of his fingers. Maybe his were just more build for climbing than this other ulaya's. He did grow up in the forest after all. "The bark isn't textured enough to grab on the way you were before." He placed his paw back down on the branch he was sitting on and looked back at the boy who was now admiring the branches nowhere near where Eotei was sitting. He tried not to play with his mind too much but it seemed like no matter what he said it wasn't going to help the situation any more.

Dhiren listened carefully at what the tree was saying. Find a notch... What was a notch? He didn't know. But circled the tree once more before finding a good spot that might be able to hold him up. "Will it hurt if I put my claws into the bark?" Wasn't that the skin of the tree. He'd never thought about it before, but now as the tree was speaking to him, it worried him. He didn't want to hurt it.
Was sap tree blood? All these questions started to form in his head, but he wasn't really sure if it was appropriate to ask them. No matter. He placed a paw on the bump that he thought maybe that was what it was talking about. "This?" he asked.

Sighing in an amusing manor he wondered just how long he would keep up this charade before the ulaya realized he was someone actually sitting on the tree itself. "Yes, right there will be fine and, no, it won't hurt." How did he find this unique individual? He's never met anyone quite like him and almost hoped he'd run into him again someday after their encounter was done. Enjoying the breeze from above and the entertainment from below, Eotei proceeded to watch as Dhiren made yet another attempt to climb the tree.
