Pip sighed tiredly. He was not a people person and he really did not want to be here. He could hardly have outright refused though when it was for a good cause and at least it meant that he actually got to spend a little time with his mother for once. Mind you, she had been running thither and hither all over the place seeing to various people and various tasks. He was left collecting the donations from members of the public. It had grown quiet now, though, few people coming in. He'd settled down to read a novel. At least that way he wasn't forced to make polite conversation with anyone.

╔XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX╗ Nicolai Reinhardt The Broken Immortal ╚XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX╝ ✎You won't cry for my absence, I know xx✎Though I die to know you love me ✎You forgot me long ago xx✎I'm all alone Nicolai always came in late to charity drives. That way he could avoid ten thousand autographs. But, he always came in with nice things. Nothing too fancy or expensive. A bunch of casual clothes for teenagers, toys for kids, books for all ages. Nothing he wrote, though. Walking into the building with the bags, he took off his sunglasses and walked up to the drop-off area. The worker was a kid probably not even in his twenties yet, and like the woman he usually ran into, he was a neko. Her son maybe? Or, just a coincidence. "It's rude to try and avoid conversation at a charity bit." Not even Nicolai did that. He came in late to avoid autographs, sure, but he at least held a conversation if someone started one with him. Still, it was just a kid. He probably had something else planned and wanted to get out already.Out Of Creativity: --

Pip looked up from his book. He recognised the man speaking to him - how could he not? His mother always whittled on about how a celebrity came to their functions often to donate. He put the book down and stood up. 'Pleased to meet you, too. Do you always start conversations with a criticism?' That was what went through his mind but instead he just gave a shy smile and said, "I'm not too good with people. I'll just say the wrong thing and upset someone. Mother always says it's best if I say as little as possible. I'm Pip. Short for Philip." He hesitantly held out his hand to shake.

╔XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX╗ Nicolai Reinhardt The Broken Immortal ╚XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX╝ ✎You won't cry for my absence, I know xx✎Though I die to know you love me ✎You forgot me long ago xx✎I'm all alone Nicolai raised an eyebrow. "Not always. Only when I think it's necessary." He couldn't be that horrid with people. Surely that was an exaggeration. "Nicolai. A pleasure to meet you, Philip." He didn't want to say Pip. Sounded like he was trying to mimic a Piplup. Nicolai set the bags down and gave Philip a firm shake. He wasn't very good at casual handshakes. Never was. "I've never seen you here."Out Of Creativity: nicolai is a telepath. scare point!

Philip stared and blinked, speechless for a moment. Had the guy just read his mind? "You knew what I was thinking!" he exclaimed. "Um..sorry...Hi. Like I said, not good with people. No, I don't often come but Mother asked me to because one of her volunteers is off sick. I'm usually too busy working. Thank you for the donations, they're greatly appreciated." He took the bags Nicholai and brought and placed them behind the table in boxes. 'You're much better looking in real life than in photos. s**t. Stop thinking. He knows what you're thinking. Damn. Get out of this!' "I'll tell my Mother you're here."
SD Paul Prospero lol poor Philip wasn't expecting that!

╔XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX╗ Nicolai Reinhardt The Broken Immortal ╚XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX╝ ✎You won't cry for my absence, I know xx✎Though I die to know you love me ✎You forgot me long ago xx✎I'm all alone Yes, he did. Nicolai tended to ignore the minds of others, but he listened regardless. Just for the entertainment. "Taking the day off to help your mother. Sweet of you." No thanks needed. He had the money to spare, and if he could help the people that related to him the most, it was worth it. Nicolai listened to Philip, though it was a few moments before he realized it was his mind talking. The immortal couldn't help but laugh. Usually people were awkward aloud, not mentally. "Don't. I don't want to bother anyone while they're working, and I have to get back to work. Unless you have anything else to say to me."Out Of Creativity: now he's just letting the dam break. XD

Anything else to say to him? Like what? 'I love your work. I think you're handsome. I wish I was brave enough to tell you that' Philip blushed slightly and shook his head. "No, no that's all. Thanks again. I'd best get to sorting these things." He proffered a small smile then went to begin the task of sorting the donations into the relevant boxes. He wondered if the guy really could read his mind or if it had been a good guess as to what he was thinking and just in case he decided to recite poetry in his mind until he left; he started reciting one of his own he was working on whilst labelling boxes and sorting clothes.

╔XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX╗ Nicolai Reinhardt The Broken Immortal ╚XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX╝ ✎You won't cry for my absence, I know xx✎Though I die to know you love me ✎You forgot me long ago xx✎I'm all alone Again, Nicolai laughed. Philip wasn't good at keeping a cork on his thoughts. Unless he had meant to think that. "Make sure to sort the books separately for each age group. I'll see you around." Nice way to distract his thoughts. He never met anyone who used poetry. Nicolai turned and headed for the door, pulling out his phone on the way so he could call his editor when he got to the car.Out Of Creativity: --

'Cerulean skies and Syrian sands, Wandering far to mystical lands...Damn. Has he left yet? Philip glanced over to see if Nicholai had left yet. He was headed for the door, taking his cell phone out of his jacket. This was stupid. He wasn't a kid. He could speak up when he liked someone. He dropped the bag of clothes he was sorted and dashed toward the door. "So...um...maybe...maybe you like coffee? Sorry, I mean, may be we could have coffee. Together, that is. Sometime. Maybe."

╔XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX╗ Nicolai Reinhardt The Broken Immortal ╚XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX╝ ✎You won't cry for my absence, I know xx✎Though I die to know you love me ✎You forgot me long ago xx✎I'm all alone Nicolai was surprised when Philip rushed over and stopped him from leaving. He was even more surprised when he asked him out to coffee - in the most disorganized way ever. Nicolai looked away from Philip, knowing too well this could only end as horribly as his past relationships. He opened the door and stepped out, refusing the offer at first, but then he stopped. It couldn't do any harm to have one coffee date with him. And, he was a kid. How far could it possibly progress? "...There's a cafe across the street from the Talon Hotel. I'm free in a couple days." Nicolai wrote down his number so Philip could call if he had - or wanted - to cancel before he left in a hurry.Out Of Creativity: --

Philip felt himself blushing again. He hated that he blushed, he thought it effeminate. He wished the ground would open up and swallow him. He had just made a complete idiot of himself. For a few seconds that felt like a few hours he thought that Nicholai was going to ignore him and leave without responding to the invitation. But then he was handing him a phone number and naming a day and place. The cafe opposite the Hotel Talon in two days. "I'll be there" he replied. He went back to his task of sorting clothes with a broad grin that surprised his mother, he was usually always looking so pensive. Not sad but thoughtful, away with the fairies she called it. Two days later, Philip was donning his best casual suit. He chose a smart pinstripe shirt and a dark navy suit. He polished his shoes, he brushed his hair, ears and tail, he cut his nails. He wanted to look smart. He also didn't want to look like a kid. He knew that because of both his youthful looks and his social awkwardness people rarely realised he was nearly twenty. And because he'd gone to college so early people rarely guessed he was already a graduate with his own small business. He didn't want Nicholai to dismiss him as a teen with a crush. He glanced at his watch and realised he should make a move. He called for a cab and shortly was outside the cafe. He wasn't sure if he should wait outside or go in and take a table.

╔XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX╗ Nicolai Reinhardt The Broken Immortal ╚XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX╝ ✎You won't cry for my absence, I know xx✎Though I die to know you love me ✎You forgot me long ago xx✎I'm all alone Nicolai had ditched his meeting with the publisher early. It wasn't uncommon. He just wrote the books. What they did after that didn't concern him as long as they didn't change anything. Of course, that also meant his editor was stuck with all the grief. Which was later transferred to him through a heated phone call. He arrived at the cafe, phone to his ear as William continued to complain. When he saw Philip standing outside and waiting, Nicolai didn't even bother saying anything. He just hung up the phone and turned it off. "You didn't have to dress up, you know. It's just coffee." At least, it was to him. It was probably much more to Philip. "...You look nice, though." Unlike Philip, Nicolai put no extra effort for the coffee date. He looked as well-dressed as he always did, with the same mess-styled hair. "Are you even allowed to have coffee? It's not going to make you sick or anything, is it?" Nicolai wasn't accusing him of being a kid this time; he had no idea what nekos could and couldn't have.Out Of Creativity: this is the cafe.

Philip was pleased to see Nicholai, he'd been afraid of being stood up; he didn't think Nicholai was like that but he didn't really know for certain. He gave him a warm smile. "Hi! Hm? Oh, I didn't go to much effort," he lied. "Thanks. You look nice too. I can drink coffee if it's really milky. I usually have a latte. Something like an espresso would make me ill." He went inside with Nicholai. "I haven't been in here before. It's nice" he said. He liked how the large windows and high ceiling made it nice and spacious and the tables weren't too close together.

╔XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX╗ Nicolai Reinhardt The Broken Immortal ╚XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX╝ ✎You won't cry for my absence, I know xx✎Though I die to know you love me ✎You forgot me long ago xx✎I'm all alone He wasn't a good liar. Nicolai could plainly see the effort he put into it. But, that was fine. He wasn't going to judge him on it. "Well, get what you'd like then." Going inside with Philip, holding the door open for him, he listened to him compliment the place. "It's a cafe on the same street as the city's five star hotel. It has to be nice, or it wouldn't get any customers." Their coffee was a great bonus, too, of course. Nicolai led Philip to a table that was away from the others and the windows. He knew there would be rumors if the wrong people saw him with Philip. He wanted to avoid that. "...What do you do for actual work? You said you didn't help with charity much because of work."Out Of Creativity: --
