Perma-kits, as their name implies, are destined to remain in their kit stage all of their lives. No breeding, no lifemating, no flings, nothing like that. They're just like your average kit! The odd thing is, no one truly knows what causes them to remain as a kit. A mutation, similar to the ones that pop up around the holidays? A disease? A Modeity's cruel trick? There are a lot of rumors, but no one really knows.
There are also rumors about possible "cures," one of them being the Jumpstart Herb.
It's a strange plant; oddly colored, waxy in texture, and extremely unpleasant in flavor, being a... bitter, tart, medicinal, peppery, gross mix. Not something you'd typically eat.
Who: Only Perma-kits willing to search for the rare Jumpstart Herb. When: Day or night, it doesn't matter too much. It would probably be easier for most to search during the daylight hours! Where: A secluded mountain meadow. It's a very mountainous region and the trek to get to this meadow specifically is an extremely long and difficult one, so most creatures don't just stroll on by. You won't find any other foxes here, but there are hardy conifers, a small stream, some smaller game, and plenty of wildflowers around. There might even be a few Jumpstart Herbs hiding somewhere in that mess of flowers and grass...
Allowed: Perma-kits Not allowed: Adults of all species, Elders, Perma-kit Elders, Tribe Guardians, Higher Beings, basically anyone and anything that isn't a Perma-kit
Rules are subject to change! The only ones posting here should be Perma-kits. Anyone else's posts won't count. Those posts will be ignored and deleted. Perma-kits are officially uploaded and certed, not grams like this or this. Grams like those cannot be converted or grown, sorry!

There's a PWYW fee for successful herb hunts. A trade should be started once your win has been confirmed. Winners should send a trade to Modifox Events. Remember to give the trade some sort of title!
You can only try once for each of your Perma-kits. If you try again with the same pet, your post will be ignored and deleted.
No bribing, whining, complaining, crying, etc. We're all adults/teenagers here, so let's act like 'em, alright?
Don't pester us about your win. Pets will always be completed. However, RL comes first. Please don't pester us about your pet or anything like that, because it will be finished. However, if the pet hasn't been completed and you haven't received a status update - via PM/messenger/in-thread/etc. - from the colorist after one (or more!) month, please PM Modifox to discuss the situation!
We need the uncerted version of your pet or we won't be able to work on it. Not their cert, their uncert. We need your pet's uncert in order to grow them.

You'll be determining whether or not the search is successful right from the start. Instead of just RPing, you'll be using dice to see if your pet will end up finding a Jumpstart Herb. Failure to follow our step-by-step guide will disqualify your pet, and you won't be able to re-roll. The guide can be found under the spoiler!
Step 1: Fill out the form. Don't post it yet, you're not done!
Step 2: Roll 1 4-sided dice for your post. If you manage to roll a 1? Congrats, your pet finds the herb, consumes it, and then you'll be quoted by staff and your Perma-kit will grow into a Modifox adult! If you rolled a 2, 3, or 4? Your Perma-kit failed to locate the herb and it's assumed that they've given up.

Spire had heard before of the herb that could age a perma, but he never had grown interest in it until now. He had enjoyed being a perma for the longest time. He could get away with plenty when others thought he was a kit. Now? Now he vaguely was bored of being the "child". He was old enough to be the parent of many foxes, yet here he was, stuck in the body of a kit and unable to be recognized as an adult. Perhaps it was time for a change.

Geni wasn't even sure why she was here. Heck, she barely could remember what she ate for breakfast. All she knew was, for some reason, coming here was important, and top of her to-do list. Sniffing about, the little perma poked for... well, whatever it was she was searching for. Maybe if she napped she'll remember...

Find the herb. That was the only thing on Xu's mind as she poked about each bush she found and each weed she stumbled across. She had heard rumors of a plant that could magically cause her to grow and, well, she wanted it. Growing had never been a concern until recently. Her "father" losing his mate and falling into a rapid depression had started a need to somehow become stronger to protect the adults she loved. As a kit, she was useless. She couldn't do anything for them. She couldn't even physically protect them. But maybe, just maybe, she'll find this herb and finally be able to defend the people she loved.

Kiba had followed his "sister", Xu, to the mountain. He hadn't exactly been listening when she stated she had "something" to do, but he never strayed far from her, anyway. Something about an herb and being taller... man, he didn't know. It didn't make sense. He'd try his best though to assist her in finding an herb... even though he had no clue what it looked like.

Mora was betraying Fuuka.
She knew it deep down. She always had rambled about "perma-pride" and how the adults were morons, but now, when Fuuka had brought her to this mountain in hopes for herself to grow, Mora was also looking to find that magical herb for her own means. She didn't want to admit it, but the life of a perma had become a burden to her. If she found the herb she would hide it from Fuuka, and this thought sickened her. It'd be worth it, in the end. If she was bigger she could protect the other easier.... right?

Fuuka was eagerly, desperately searching for a herb. This was her only chance. Her last chance. Nothing else had worked. No rituals from shamans in tribes. None of the past rumors and "secret methods" had worked. She was trapped in a body she hated, and now was the chance to fix this.
'Deities, please. Help me. This is all I'll ever ask for.' She'd spend all night if she had to.

Success! Fuuka finds and consumes a Jumpstart Herb. After a rough couple of weeks, filled with plenty of aches and pains (similar to what a fox might experience when turning into an Elder), Fuuka is fully grown!

No one had told him about the herbs, nor were they a priority on his mind. He had just been traveling, honestly. He was hungry, even, and couldn't find anything small enough to kill nearby. Maybe he should go foraging for a plant to eat...

She felt guilty for being here. In all her years of being a perma-kit, it took half her lifetime to accept who and what she was. She was a perma, and for too many years she had despised herself for it. Cinder had believed she was happy as a perma, but when the rumor of a herb that could throw you into adulthood reached her ears, well... she found herself here. Her life had fallen apart recently and, well, maybe it was time to start new. To become new. Maybe it was time to just... grow up and live a life she could be proud of.

He liked to help others but was not always taken seriously because of his size and as some of the phims had told him because of how cute he looked. He was hoping to find some herb to help him grow so that he could more effectively help others better but if he failed at finding it he would accept it gracefully and move on. But he had to try.

Etowah had heard there was something interesting here. Something just for kits that never grew, like herself. She wasn't entirely sure what it was, but a lot of kits were making the hard climb to the meadow, so it had to be good. She followed the lead of everyone else, poking around the meadow and nibbling at the occasional interesting-looking plant. Would she find anything good?

Incisor was out and about for no reason at all. She honestly didnt care one way or another about how things turned out. Or the fact that all that those that grew and seen her thought she was the most adorable thing. It really didnt matter.She didnt even know why she was out here as far as she was.
