Inflation.
They're compensating for the fact that stuff in the marketplace started selling for billions of gold.
I think it's to give people who don't buy gaia cash a chance but it's actually just contributing to exponential inflation ¯|_(ツ)_/¯

Basically, never sell anything unless you're planning on immediately purchasing something else e.g. selling three things to buy a better item
I've noticed that the economy is so messed up that selling items and keeping the gold is absolutely not with it considering how quickly everything is inflating

I think it's some promo to encourage people to keep using gaia
I noticed today some thing saying that I was getting better items for signing in 6/7 days
Although i skimmed it cause there's so much damn stuff to read everyday. So i never really know what in the heck is going on with the site in general
For example, there's some weird thing "tier 1: 0/5000" and another 0/500
what. is it....??? Not knowing is driving me insane but at the same time I don't care enough to investigate LOL
