I restarted Eureka 7 cause i don't remember if I ever saw the end of the series.
But watching anime consumes so much time. It's shameful
Every episode i can only think of all the better things i have to do rather than staring at a screen
But I simply -must- know. I need to see how the show ends. I can't remember how much of it I saw.
I'm about halfway through atm. At ep 25
And i've been slowly developing a list of other shows I want to rewatch, but.....
I keep remembering that I have much better things to be doing gonk

I'm at the point where I have to be multitasking when I'm watching stuff so I end up watching a lot of dubs unless it's a series I'm following as it's coming out.
My issue with dubs is that the people who do the casting prefer actors who can do an "anime voice" over actors who can "actually act" so I feel like it's not really as respectable. Like yeah, I get it, you can pitch your voice three octaves higher but you still sound like you're reading a script off a paper. Idk it bugs me and it seriously distracts me from the story most of the time. Like I have a hard time taking a dub as seriously because it sounds like a high school play most of the time.
That said, I re-watched all of Last Exile, which is a gem of a series despite the whole "compositing things at different resolutions" thing. I'm two episodes away from finishing Fam: The Silver Wing and HOO BOY LET ME TELL YOU; you can tell it was done more recently not by the quality of the animation but by how diluted and derivative it feels. The characters are all moe and shiny and there's way too much modern unnecessary fanservice (read, unnecessary tripping/maid outfits) and FOR SOME REASON they decided to make half the cast "British" (read: southern Americans who have never heard a Brit in their lives) and "Russian" (read: poorly accented and you need to read subtitles anyway so why am I watching the dub at this point?) it has its moments like when a couple of members of the old cast show up and that's kind of ok but I'm gonna finish the last two episodes and hope that it changes my mind because at this point in time I'm pretty sure I'm going to finish it and then pretend it never existed.
TL;DR
The first Last Exile was fantastic.
I guess I'm just sick of repetitive, derivative, watered down, moe fanservice and shitty COMPLETELY UNNECESSARY fake accents that detract from already lukewarm, mediocre-at-best writing.
ALSO, some of the 3D s**t's animated on ones and the 2D is always on twos/sometimes even threes and it's HELLA gross but that's my animator rant.

Just finished Fam and I'm so mad.
CAN YOU NOT JUST HAVE A ONE-MINUTE CLIP OF CHARACTERS FROM THE OLD SERIES AND NOT EXPLAIN HOW THE ******** ONE OF THEM ENDED UP IN A WHEELCHAIR
