Nintendo just loves to tease fans doesn't it?
When it's not yanking videos off of YouTube or NicoNico for silly reasons that is.

Recently, a “Miiting" was performed on Miiverse that interviewed the Happy Mask Salesman from Majora's Mask 3D. Yes, dearies, the Happy Mask Salesman. The interview was fittingly quirky and off-the-wall, though most of the information covered was previously known.

One comment, however, stuck out in particular and seemed to hint at something greater on the horizon. For better or worse.

Happy Mask Salesman
My, my... I've certainly been appearing all over the place these past few days! If this keeps going, maybe it wouldn't be a stretch to expect me to pop up in a new Zelda game, too...? Ho, ho, ho... I've got some new masks, too, if you'd like to try them on... If I do make an appearance, I'm sure everyone will experience such happiness! Believe in your strengths... Believe... Ho, ho, ho...

This mysterious, out of nowhere comment could mean a vast amount of possibilities. It could perhaps be something as simple as a hint at the Happy Mask Salesman appearing in some future DLC for Hyrule Warriors, or it could be in reference to him making an appearance in the upcoming Legend of Zelda Wii U.

The most outlandish, though entirely possible, takeaway could be a hint at a brand new, unannounced Zelda. Given the Happy Mask Salesman's strong association with Majora's Mask and the “I've got some new masks, too" quote, it does make one wonder about the possibly of a Majora's Mask sequel.

Given that Majora's Mask 3D was the series' fastest selling handheld title to date, the popularity of the unique gameplay pioneered here could certainly be worth another visit in a new entry. Though I have to admit some skepticism.

Whatever the outcome, it's a pretty safe bet that this ambiguous comment wasn't made without there being some deeper meaning. It'll be interesting to see what becomes of this in the near future.
