A nebula (from Latin: "cloud";[1] pl. nebulae or nebulæ, with ligature or nebulas) is an interstellar cloud of dust, hydrogen gas, helium gas and other ionized gases. Originally, nebula was a general name for any extended astronomical object, including galaxies beyond the Milky Way (some examples of the older usage survive; for example, the Andromeda Galaxy was referred to as the Andromeda Nebula before galaxies were discovered by Edwin Hubble). Nebulae often form star-forming regions, such as in the Eagle Nebula. This nebula is depicted in one of NASA's most famous images, the "Pillars of Creation". In these regions the formations of gas, dust, and other materials "clump" together to form larger masses, which attract further matter, and eventually will become massive enough to form stars. The remaining materials are then believed to form planets, and other planetary system objects.

In the vast Universe there are many nebulae forming colorful patterns against the night sky. Though most of them are too far away to see without the use of a telescope. The Katzaie (pronounced Cats Eye) Nebula is one such event in space. But this nebula is special, not only for it's unique shape which is like the eye of a cat and it's beautiful coloration's of greens and purples. What makes this nebula truly special is that it is the home, the birthplace of a very special race of creatures that take their name from it.

The Katzaie are born from the desire to have a companion, someone to spend your life with, a special friend bonded to you and you alone in this precious way. The Katzaie are born from this desire within the nebula. Sparking new life and creating character on it's journey to it's bonded. A playful creature that starts life out as a fallen star that more often then not will give it's bonded a nice bonk on the head as it finally reaches Gaia. These 'stars' follow their bonded, floating and dancing about them as a basket must be prepared for their next stage which is far more vulnerable. As kittens they rarely venture from their basket and are extremely dependent on their bonded for all of their needs. It is as a kitten that they first establish a strong mental connection with their bonded, letting them know all their wants and needs. As well, kittens start to 'talk' within the mind of their bonded, much like a human child their vocabulary is limited but they do learn at an accelerated rate. It is at this time that they become interested in their own kind as well, wide eyes always peeking around trying to see if there's another twin tailed feline about that they can start to communicate with.

Katzaie do not meow, they communicate between themselves with musical chirruping sounds, much like a bird does, yet with far more range and many different melodies. There purr is nearly the same as any other feline but it is far more musical and warbling. Males and females differ from one another in more ways then just gender. The females are more shy, laid back and gentle while males are more playful, inquisitive and aggressive. Both genders are the same in one manner, both are very loyal to their bonded and they do not like to stay away from their sides for too long.

Katzaie have the ability to transport themselves back to their home which is known as The Celestial Gardens. While beautiful beyond measure and plentiful in food and drink a Katzaie will not stay away from their bonded for long, there is far more comfort to be had at the side of their loved ones then anywhere else within the galaxy.
