Name the most cathartic or emotionally moving fan fiction you've ever read. (Or, if you don't want to out and out name it, just tell us the fandom and its basic premise.)
Why was this story such a rousing experience for you?

I remember reading one quite some time ago. I don't remember the name or too much of the overall plot. But I remember it was a Naruto one and basically the author humanized the Akatsuki to some of the main characters. There was one portion in particular where Kisame was telling Itachi how in Mist village it was considered an honor to die while it was raining because "It's like all the damn angels in heaven are crying for you." Fast forward several chapters and Kisame is wounded gravely. And just before he's about to die, Itachi casts a genjutsu to make it look like its raining so when Kisame dies he sees the rain.
That was pretty powerful to me and its always stuck with me.
