IT'S BACK AND I'M EXCITED AND GOING TO SHARE.

Bootleg recordings of Les Miserables that were taken down but have now been put back up. Ramin Karimloo (he's Canadian! yay!) plays a ******** awesome Jean Valjean and I would give the blood from my veins to see this performance. Of the songs that have been uploaded, my two favourites have got to be Valjean's Soliloquy and The Confrontation.

-This is the only version of Valjean's Soliloquy I actually like. Colm Wilkinson is my fave Valjean but it's his worst song, Alfie Boe can sing anything but I don't love it, and, shockingly, I have to grudgingly admit Hugh Jackman wasn't too bad with this one. Still, Ramin nails it.
- I love how the lights cut out as soon as he tears up his yellow passport. V. dramatic.
- Will Swenson plays Javert here and does a fairly good job, I think. I'm pretty harsh on Javerts though because he's my favourite character and no one will ever be as good as Philip Quast.
- Holy s**t am I ever impressed that they can run around like that and still sing perfectly.
- The Confrontation is one of my favourite songs because it is this song that moved me from 'this is interesting' to 'oh my god I have to know what happens next'.

There was a recording of The Runaway Cart which was just the BEST version of that I have ever seen. The equivalent scene in the book is incredibly tense and Will Swenson captured that atmosphere perfectly. Sadly, the video hasn't been reuploaded.

UGH for real, I don't understand why they don't make theatre more accessible. Like if you don't live in London or NYC, and if you don't have the money, then you're ********.

It's so ridiculous like just rent some equipment and pay a good editor and you'll make the money back instantly.

So Cinderella is coming to Toronto next December and I'm DYING to see it. They bit they did for the Tony's was utterly fab.

- My biggest memory of this is from the 1997 TV movie with Brandy and Whoopi Goldberg, which I remember as being ******** awesome.
- Those costume changes are absolutely magical.
- There's a 50s black and white version of this with Julie Andrews which I haven't watched yet but really should.

I am going to the opera on Friday, so let's change it up a bit with this aubade from Le Roi D'Ys.

-Le Roi D'Ys is a french opera about the mythical city of Ys. Located somewhere along the French coast, it was supposedly swallowed by the ocean Atlantis-style as punishment for its immoral ways.
-This song is an aubade, which is a love song sung in the morning (and, very technically, by a man to a woman's balcony/window). A serenade is a long song sung in the evening.
-The man performing this song is a Mr. Luciano Botelho, and I would like to bring your attention to his face as he sings - doesn't he look thrilled? His expression at 1.41 can only be described as pure glee.

This has become my personal nerd thread, sorry not sorry.
