A Proposition: Case #2

With the loss of quite a few canonical villains and legacies, I wanted to take the time to reshuffle and realign guild properly into a DC Universe that makes sense as well as try and fill the holes in some of our spots. So, as such, I will be propositioning people with some ideas and motivations.

I will tackle idividuals on a 1 to 1 basis. So please, if you wish to negotiate either wait to see if you are going to be called up or drop me a PM. I don;t mind.

Anyway, we once talked about how you would be open to making Evie into the Legacy of the Shining Knight and I think the time to make that move has come. Would you please consider turning Evie into the Ystina Legacy?

The reason I think this would be a good idea is because Evie, at the moment, contradicts DC lore and it has bothered me for some time that she does so. So, in becoming the Ystina Legacy we could bring her more in line with the DC Canon and lore as well as boost you in importance.

Think it over and let me know what you think.

I'm going to be very honest. I am not exactly keen on changing Evie, after already putting so much work into her and establishing her as who she is. But, I will at least listen to and consider what you have to say. Exactly what kind of significant changes would have to be made?

I'm going to have to ask that we keep things out in the open here but still only between yourself and I. I don't really like doing stuff like this over PMs or Skype because it seems like I'm doing some sort of shady deal. Also, people lie and will say that they were forced to do this and that or being bullied or what not. So, each Proposition Case will be sorted in house. It will also only be between yourself and I. Any Mods who want to have their say will have their say through me. Fair?

Anyway, with how I want this to work what you have already done in the guild will not actually be affected at all. The main concern myself and a lot of the moderators have is the clashing nature of your Arthurian Legend and that of the DC Canon; you've basically made the girl from Fate/Stay Night and use Fate/Stay Night's Canonical Material. When asked to change it before it was a fiasco but now that things have died and there is more room to maneuver I think we can finally make it work.

The changes you will have to make are more in what she is rather than who she is. She can still be the reincarnation/ Spiritual Successor/ lovechild/ racoon or whatever of King Arthur but we need to use DC material properly to support this. If you become the Shining Knight Legacy (Ystina or Justin) you can tie into Merlin and what not as well as have Excalibur and quest for the Holy Grail. Good, no?

Okay, so I don't have to change her personality or anything. Good. So... What, would I be changing her origin story as a hero? And it's never been Evie's goal to search for the grail, so I'm not sure where you're getting that, unless it's from the Ystina character wiki....

I was just putting that out there as an option/ cool thing, it wasn't something you had to do because, obviously, the Shining Knight isn't just about the Grail.

You would have to look towards the DC Comics Wiki and Comic Vine and other sources of Comic Trivia to see how certain people play out. I know Merlin is constantly referenced in DC's magical properties through the likes of Etrigan, Xanadu and the like so it shouldn't be too hard to tailor her story to the correct story.

That... really doesn't help. I don't have a clue what to do with the information. What exactly am I supposed to change? What am I doing? I'm not the kind of person that can be vaguely told to do a thing and then be able to actually do it.

Oh sorry, I thought I had explained it enough. I am sorry.

You need to make the Arthurian stuff in your profile match up to the Arthurian Lore in the DC Universe. This will include:
- Your interactions with the Knights of the Round Table
- Merlin
- Etrigan
- Morgana
- Mordred

We may also need to edit your abilities and Excalibur.

Can I at least keep her dragon-related abilities the same? That's like, my favorite part of her abilities.

Okay, I'm going to make this easier on myself and straight up ask if you can please point out exactly where my profile contradicts DC lore. Please give me the specifics and potential ways I can fix it, because I'm stupid who needs instructions and won't be able to figure it out and fix this on my own. emo

I should be able to trust you with this but.. I will help you out and other mods will also be feeding me what you need to fix. I would be careful, pay attention and I will try to provide links.

- Merlin would not be around to help you really. In all his incarnations for DC he is a busy guy and not able to be around.

- The Knights of the Round Table are all dead and their spirits would not be able to help you.

- You need to use Etrigan somehow.

- You need to look up Excalibur within the DCU and see how it works. You also need to find a new way of inheriting it if it was wielded previously by Shining Knight or Ystina.

All it is is research. Less Fate/Stay Night. Think. You can do this.

Alright, I'm not really finding anything on how Excalibur works in DC canon. I checked the database, I looked on Wikipedia, and the only thing I've found so far is that it's indestructible. Can I say that she found it hidden in some ruins near her burned-out childhood home? Like, maybe that's where the previous weilder left it, knowing that they were going to disappear soon. Perhaps they knew that the person who owned the property (aka Evie) was supposed to be their legacy.

As for Etrigan... Uh, why do I need to use him? I get that he's heavily connected to Arthurian legend in the DCU, but I don't see how to connect him to Evie in any way, other than maybe as an enemy, given that he's a demon.

It is pretty much a choosy indestructible/ unmatchable blade. Same sorta thing. I would probably have some sort of confrontation with the Lady of the Lake or something. They would probably give it back to her if they had to in order to make sure it was safe.

Etrigan is a good guy.
