Read the book, Born in Blood, can't remember the author, but it shows the complete history of the Masons, starting with the Knights Templar. That should give you some insight, and my father likes the book, I haven't read it yet, but he says it's a good read. I hope that helps

Is what they say about the knights Templar in the Davinci Code true, or is it only theoretical. Well, I guess the whole book was a theory, but is there any fact behind it? (the knights templar aspect, I mean)

Don't take anything in the DaVinci code seriously. It is a work of fiction, suposedly an action novel. try seing Knights Templar on Wikipedia. It may have some inacurate parts, but it's overall correct.
