Gaia is a a virtual realm were those who have money, have power. The wealthiest of the Gaians join in on making the system we live by, while the poorer people play their games and hope for riches.
To gain some welath, isn't enough.
Only the ELITE can be proud of their toys and accessories.
We must manage with second hand gifts and decent items.
Then we are critized for not playing Gaia well, not putting enough effort in.

The Gaia economy has left the Gold meaningless. You have to wrack up billions of Gold just to buy things that were once 80,000.
80,000 Gold was a lot of money back in my day.
