The Beta Division focuses on spell work, and serves as an advanced unit of Kidoushuu. Intense training, such of Kidou Duels and restricted movement while doing so, is the key to their lighting-fast spell casting, and the members of this Division far surpass those within the Fifth Division of the Soul Society.
Uniform: The beta Division can adorn themselves in the official uniform, a long coat, simple yet effective for their style of combat, but the uniform is not required for anything but official business (such as large conferences, etc.). Beta Division's style of dress in-battle, or in their time off is more focused around comfort and practicality, so whatever is most comfortable and least restrictive is allowed, as long as it bears the Beta Division insignia on either their right shoulder, or over their heart.
