◊ CYNICAL Xavier is convinced that the worst is coming, despite evidence to the contrary. He doesn't believe there's a silver lining anywhere, and can find the worst thing in any situation he's placed in. His pessimism has only grownas he's gotten older, and he's convinced that he would be better served by making sure he's ready for the worst to happen.
◊ SARCASTIC Xavier is quite sarcastic. He's managed to make an art form out of making snarky or sarcastic comments, and he's not afraid of using them on anyone he comes across. He figures that people leave him alone if they don't like what he says.
◊ INTELLIGENT Xavier is also quite intelligent. He loves it when he finds a puzzle to work on, and tends to read anything that's put in front of him. He also loves learning as much as he can even long after he's out of school.
◊ ORDERLY To Xavier, everything has to be a certain way in a certain space and he doesn't care for it when something is out of place. He despises it when there's a mess and will actively work to straighten things out while giving whoever made the mess his nastiest look.
◊ ALOOF Xavier is pretty much a loner. He prefers his own company rather than hanging around a lot of people, and will retreat from a social function quickly if he can manage it. While he can deal with people on an individual basis, he finds his patience wears thin when more than a couple of people are interacting with him at a time.
◊ ABRASIVE Xavier's personality can overall be described as abrasive. It's not that he's unkind, it's more that he dislikes speaking too much and dislikes stupid people even more. He's found over the years that dealing with people's messes and problems often usually ends up with him having more headaches than he cares to deal with. As a result, he rarely is friendly with anyone.

CHILDHOOD I was born to Desmond and Myfina Goldwind. I am the middle child, and at times it definitely feels like it. I really tend to take after my uncle, Ian, though. He's the type of person I'd like to be with, and my middle name was taken from his first, so it makes sense. My relationships with my siblings is interesting. Andonae' is a squib, and she didn't exactly get along with me at first. I'd like to think she grew up a bit, even if she argues with our dad a lot. December is more like a breath of fresh air, though sometimes she can get on my nerves. Otherwise, I'd like to think we're a decent family. Not quite perfect, but I take what I can get at this point.

SCHOOL YEARS Well, my first year at Hogwarts was nothing special, to be honest. My father tried to smuggle a broom to me, and I handed it in to my uncle as soon as I could. My second year, well, that's where life got a bit interesting. I went to the Fall Festival with my father, since he thought it could be a good bit of family bonding. That fell through, however, and resulted in a massacre that night. Some crazy vampire attacked me, and broke my foot and leg. I spent several weeks recovering, and I'm still not sure I fully did. The horrors from that night still haunt me, and my father, he was supposed to protect me, right? He never did. Now I feel angry, angry at him, angry at everything, really. Nothing stopped this from occurring, and I was a casualty from the attack. I still don't feel safe, and it has made me more reckless since.

Third year, I ended up joining the quidditch team to get my dad to stop complaining about me not being in quidditch. Which went about as well as I thought it would. However, during the year, I got word that my sister, Andi, was involved in an accident and passed away. My mom decided to divorce my dad and took Dee with her, and well, I was left with him. I didn't particularly care for that turn of events, so I decided to rebel against my father. I grew more cynical and just refused to talk to him, and well, that was that. Fourth year was quiet, while fifth year I was named prefect and quidditch vice captain by Gypsy. The rest of my school years were pretty average, though there was the incident where I caught several students drinking at a school dance, and then had to deal with being named Head Boy. I'm wondering if there wasn't somehow a deficiency with the professors, since I don't have the best temper and I honestly dislike most people.

POST GRADUATION After he graduated, Xavier decided to take a tour of the world, starting in America visiting his sister December. After that, he ended up traveling around quite a bit, only returning to England every so often to deal with some issues regarding family or just stopping in to write some articles for a historical newsletter for a local museum in England. He spent several years doing this, enjoying the freedom he had not having to worry about much beyond the random thing that popped up.

It was during one of his visits back to the UK that he ended up getting himself involved in an issue with one of his neighbours. He'd managed to keep a flat in Scotland so that he had a permanent residence, but it wasn't exactly in the best neighbourhood. That was when he ran into Irvine and Ophelia McNeil. Their father had been abusing them regularly and Xavier happened to be home during one of their father's fits. After listening to it for a good twenty minutes, Xavier got fed up with it and decided to act. He went over to find out what was going on and when he discovered the situation, he stopped the father and took the children with him to St. Mungo's to get looked at. Because he'd heard horror stories from one of his house mates' boyfriends about the way orphans were handled, he decided right then and there to go ahead and adopt the both of them.

After finalizing the paperwork and getting that taken care of, Xavier proceeded to resume traveling around the world, taking both Irvine and Ophelia with him. He figured it was good for the kids to be exposed to as much of the world as could be because he felt that it helped broaden their worldview. When Irvine got old enough to start in Hogwarts, Xavier finally returned to England to get a job at the local museum while both Irvine and Ophelia attended.
