A cashe orphan, some more subdued fallen might credit this to Realgar's... colorful personality, certainly to his name, after a bright red mineral that resembles his eye color. Those blaming creche raising on his personality however might be disappointed to know that, as far as anyone can tell, he just came out of the stone this way. If he's not asking "Why" it's probably because he's asking "Why not"... the second usually after being asked why he got up to something he wasn't supposed to. Rules, apparently, are meant to be pushed as far as they'll go, if not ignored, and authority might as well come stamped with the phrase 'question me'. Whatever he chooses to do down the road, it's unlikely to be following in the steps of his more subservient fellows, and may even struggle to get along with them in the way other less subdued or traditionally regimental species might appeal to him.

When he's not giving people gray hairs by pushing the rules as far as they'll bend, he's a cheerful optimistic young Nightmare who loves to go full tilt, running when he has a chance, rather than walk. He almost inevitably chooses to believe things will work out for the best, for himself and the people around him that he determines count as friends or 'family'. He uses the term 'family' somewhat loosely, and it will be clear that he uses it to incorporate people who have passed beyond being 'just friends' into something deeper, and that species will have fairly little to do with that.

When he gets older, it's even likely this will develop into somewhat of an -attitude- toward traditional clan structures because heyyyy that worked out GREAT in the past right? Oh wait that whole war thing... Never mind that it was hardly the only factor. (This narrow focus on things will be both an pro and a con in his life.)

People he cares about deeply he'll also go to bat for as much as he can, cheering them on or jumping into whatever fray they're in the middle of to protect them. He can even be a bit blind to the flaws of people he cares about, at least until they turn around and actually hurt -him-. At the point when he gets hurt by a flaw he's been turning a blind eye to, it's frequently a shattering point from which it's unlikely the friendship can recover. Granted this is usually a pretty big emotional (or physical) harm, and he has to see that it's deliberate, but once his trust is damaged, it's nearly impossible to rebuild, and he'll never trust them at the same level again.

He can also be impulsive, and in part because of his general optimism, generally difficult to dissuade from an idea once he has it in his head. On the plus side he's perfectly willing to accept his own mistakes and laugh about them, even when he gets hurt, but on the downside, pushing him too hard against doing something, even trying to stop him out of a sense of good intention... well there's just something about 'because I said so' that gets under this nightmares skin. He dislikes taking orders on a very basic level, and while he'll follow them if he has to, it'll frequently be the letter of the law not the spirit of the law. He's also aware there are nightmares more intelligent than he is, but gods help you if you choose to rub his nose in it. That's a short ride to being on a list of people he loathes.

There's some debate over whether or not this rule defying, self endangering behavior has anything to do with being an cashe orphan, and to be fair it does have an impact, though much of it, at least as far as he knows, is just the way he is, and he'd likely give any nightmare as much trouble, even if they were clearly and obviously related to him. He does wonder about who his parents might have been, and like most kids, freely entertains some rather glorified ideas where his unknown parents were clearly the realms equivalent to Wonderwoman and Batman.

Another downside to his personality is a darker-side to his reaction to being looked down on or betrayed. Left to stew, these play in rather horribly to his reckless behaviors, and he'll take increasing risks to prove that he should not be looked down on or pitied.

Positives: Determined and Optimistic, loyal to friends and 'family', sharp focus

Negatives: Impulsive, stubborn, and resentful of authority, narrow focus ((Particularly has an issue with anyone who attempts to control him on the basis of being more intelligent or better educated. Nothing could possibly go wrong there...[/sarcasm]))

Quote:
Your Nightmare has to write an essay on what they want to be when they grow up. Do they procrastinate, or get to work immediately? What is their essay about?

That was easy. It also kind of wasn't. Everything he was taught, and frequently saw, of the Fallen was about them being subservient, religious, delicate. They weren't the powerful physical beings the Baphomet were. Sometimes he wished he'd been created Baphomet. It would feel less like people patted him on the head dismissively every time he said it.

I want be the fastest Fallen there ever was. No I want to be the fastest nightmare there ever was.

He knew there were other kids around who had loftier, fancier goals. "I want to study history, I wanna do fashion... or music...
Fashion was great... he guessed. Wearing stuff had it's upsides but some of it just kind of went over his head. Music was fun, it got you going, but ... ehhhh. He liked the attention but banging on a drum or strumming a guitar was just so... stationary. It was like running in place. You did something but you didn't DO anything. History...

History UGH. He got it. Things had happened, some of it bad, some of it good, all of it had apparently been a really big ugly mess and no one wanted it to happen again but he honestly struggled to care about saint Whoodywhatz the double agent or Saint BlahBlah who... lead... something. He just wanted to fly, swoop, dive and turn, and show everyone what he knew he could do. He did it all the time in his dreams, where his wings were fully fledged and glorious and strong... he kind of wished he could do it now. It was way more interesting than homework.

Critique incoming!

    Appearance:
  • You don't really specify a base. If he's starting as a freshman, you can still specify his hair and the pants/skirt base.
  • On that note, you've described his general appearance, but what about his outfit? Are you leaving the clothing CC? Between his images, is he going to be wearing boots or barefoot? Is there any kind of design on his shirt? One image shows accessories while the other does not. This is just for clarity. uvu

    Personality:
  • Are you saying that the personality is due to him being a cache orphan or due to his name? I suggest tweaking that first sentence for clarity.
  • I'm not really seeing what effects being an orphan has had on him, though you've mentioned briefly in the RP portion that he wished that "he'd been created Baphomet." Why that race in general?
  • Why does he resent authority and enjoys bending the rules? Did something happen to him to help develop this mindset?
  • What are some of his other likes and dislikes? Liking things other than pushing the limit on rules and flying and disliking authority. What are some hobbies?

    Backstory:
  • I feel like you need to develop this slightly... Was there an important event in their life that made him who they are or set him on the path they're on?
  • He dislikes clan organization, but what does he think of the other races? You said that it doesn't matter when they're "family," but is there any sort of bias initially?
  • Why did he choose Enoch and what are his thoughts on the house?

    RP Response:
  • You didn't quite respond to the entire prompt. He doesn't like school, but what about their work ethic in school (procrastinate or get to work immediately)?
  • What does speed and going full tilt mean to him?
