 Aaminah lounged on the warm sand of the oasis, allowing the sun to dry her lovely hair which was slowly curling about her face. Her fin tapped lightly against the ground collecting sand and brushing it off as she stretched in the light. She would need to get back into the water soon, but she still enjoyed the warm caress of the sun on her fins and face. Her little octopi friend was still in the water, surely digging something up. He liked to collect shells and things and present them to her as little gifts. He was not as fond of the sun as she was. It dried him out and made him grumpy. The mare smiled at the thought and began to hum quietly to herself. She was not sure exactly where she was at this point. She and her friend had been traveling for so long that she could not even recall what herd, if any, owned this area. She knew there were a few, or so she had heard from the traders and travelers, but she had never quite remembered what oasis belonged to which. This one was by far her favorite and she hoped she was not trespassing on someone else’s land. What harm could there be in enjoying the sun? Surely no king could own that. The humming slowly became a song and she decided to throw those concerns to the wind.

 Worked through the early part of the day finishing his rounds. His daughter thankfully not causing trouble today and his father was long gone with his mother but he still had to make sure the herd was run properly. With everyone going about their business today and the notorious trader gone on an expedition the oasis water was rather unoccupied.
Or at least he thought. He could hear someone singing near the water. Following the sound he slipped through what brush was there finding a palomino Novae with red tipped fins. He'd never seen her before and like his father it was his job to make sure he knew every face in the herd.
"Excuse me, might I inquire on who you are?"
She didn't look dangerous but appearances could always be deceiving. Though he didn't draw his sword, he was still a bit wary of this girl, she'd slipped so easily past everyone and no one had come inform him or other other guards. Kamal's own personal guards were still within earshot he didn't need them but it was more a show for the public.

Aaminah stopped mid-word at the sound of a male voice. Her cheeks reddened and she hid her face for a moment in embarrassment. She had not known anyone was approaching. In truth, she had not expected to be found. When she saw that she had the oasis to herself, she had welcomed the privacy. Now, however, it had been encroached upon. Perhaps she was trespassing after all.
She shyly turned her face toward the stallion that had found her, eyes slightly downcast, and her tail swished back in forth in the sand, a visible sign of her embarrassment.
“I apologize,” she replied, finally bringing her eyes to meet his. He was quite handsome, wasn’t he? He carried himself with an air of power, and yet he seemed gentle enough. She caught side of the sword and that made her nervous. Was he some sort of guard patrolling the area?
“I do not mean to intrude, in truth, I do not know where exactly I am. I was merely passing through. My name is Aaminah. Ata is my friend but he is still underwater,” she added in case the octopus should startle the guard into drawing his sword, “he is harmless,” she finished, glancing down at the tale tell ripples in the water.
“If I should not be here, please, you need but let me know and I will leave, Sir…?” she trailed off, leaving an opening for the stallion to give her his name. Though she was on her guard, she was also curious. He was the first star she had encountered in this land.

Kamal blinked for a moment surprised by her reaction. He hadn't even really introduced himself and she was hiding. A ploy perhaps? The reactions seemed too natural. Rather adorable nonetheless. He still relaxed a little as he saw her eyes dart to his sword. "I will not hurt you." he promised "Unless you have done something that requires me to." He listened to her for a moment.
I am Prince Kamal firstborn Son of the King of kings ShahRyar and Queen Scheherazade, Heir of Anuyidan'Danayi. at least that's what he'd usually say. Aaminah seemed too skittish to handle such a long introduction. He felt like it would frighten her away. Especially if it was from the first prince of the herd she'd stumbled into. Kamal glanced at the surface of the water. The infamous trader Badr Basim must not be around he'd have made a fuss over another mare in the oasis, especially another novae. They were even rarer because of the hot desert environment and how quickly Novae could dry out.
"My Name is Kamal, Aaminah, you and Ata may stay here so long as you don't cause trouble," he spoke carefully not to frighten the skittish mare "these lands belong Anuyidan'Danayi." As she introduced herself earlier as well as her friend he was curious what sort of creature she'd brought with her that lay just below the water's surface. Kamal had never seen an octopus. He couldn't help but be a bit curious, not often did the trader bring live creatures with him. He'd always been the adventurous sort, though his duties never left him time for such things anymore. Before the herd was so large, he often had time to explore the desert. he took a few more steps toward the water to get a look at what was under the surface where the ripples emanated from. "What sort of Creature is Ata?" he inquired

His reassurance brought a small smile of relief to her lips. She certainly didn't plan on doing anything that would possibly cause a soldier to draw his sword. "Thank you for your welcome, Kamal," she responded with a slight bow of her head, which caused her now dry hair to cascade over her eyes as she looked up shyly at the stallion. "Ata is my best friend," she responded with a smile before gracefully inching back into the water, using her powerful tail to push her back in with not so much as a splash to show her entry. Had she stayed out too much longer, she would have found herself in trouble. She let out a quiet sigh of relief as the cool water lapped up around her fins, the soft pinks and reds rippling with the motion of the water around her. The sun was nice...for a time. "Come on out. I know you were going to take a nap," she said into the water, her front hoof gently pushing a mound in the sand. Bright eyes that gleamed with intelligence popped open, staring straight up into Kamal's eyes. The curious octopus shook the sand off of his body, revealing his bright coloration and swirled his tentacles around him, making a full spin before facing Kamal once more. A curious tint filtered into his eyes and he slowly reached a lone tentacle out towards the stallion's nose to deliver a quick boop. "Oh, Ata, where are your manners?" the mare whispered in a hushed tone, "I am so sorry, he has not seen many stars with four legs. He is harmless, really," she said reassuringly.

The stallion stepped out of the way to allow the mer mare back into the water without hampering her. Nova couldn't stay out of the water for too long. Everyone in the herd knew that though that, the main trader was in fact a nova so most of the market was at the waterside. Her best friend huh, Kamal watched the water somewhat eagerly. It was like when he was younger and he went adventuring into the desert. The Creature came out and held bright intelligent eyes. He'd never seen it's like. He was so interested in watching it he didn't move away at first when it reached out. Kamal snorted and shook his head taking a step back with surprise. this creature surprised him this creature. Not fins but legs; eight of them at that.
Kamal grinned, what a interesting creature. "It's nice to meet you Ata." He glanced to Aaminah "I don't suppose you could tell me what your mischievous friend is?" He taking a step forward again.
Though as he said that his two guards came out from where he'd left them "Your Highness, Prince Kamal, are you alright?!" They Chimed together having heard the small commotion. "Did this commoner and strange creature hurt you?!"
Kamal Stood back up to address them properly "No," he spoke with authority "This Mare and her companion are my guest please treat them with respect."
The guards looked at eachother for a moment then nodded "As you wish your highness."
