Mason calls Spectres cell but no answer....Leaves a message
"Spectre It's Mase!, Listen....I'm at 49 Wilcox Street and Bronkwood Avenue Intersection over at far NorthWest Barton....I'm on foot and without my radio....I have very low signal so I could lose you any second....There's a construction worker trapped in a manhole...His utility belt is caught on the ladder and is about 50 feet down....Get the DTFC over here quick if you can! They're closer than any of my guys, I don't think any of mine would make it! Hurry! He's claustrophobic..And I'll see what I can do on my end"
Phone signal dies..."Damnit! I only hope that went thru"
Mason checks down at the construction worker..
"Hey! Hold on buddy help is on the way!"
Mason runs off and finds a hardware store around the corner....Finds a couple 25 ft garden hoses and grabs them....Grabs a roll of duct tape and runs back out to the manhole....
"Hold on buddy!"
Mason unrolls both hoses and tapes an end from each hose together then throws one end down the manhole..
"Breath through this!!!"
The construction workers yells out "Help me!!! Who are you!?" Then breathes through the hose
Mason secures the hose with his hands holding it tightly so it doesn't go anywhere... "I'm the Fire Chief of Barton Heights! Sir I need you to breath through the hose!"
(15 minutes before the incident took place Mason was jogging in a BHFD academy T-Shirt with red gym shorts and running sneakers....It was quiet and the evening rush hour hasn't yet reached NorthWest Barton....Mason was the only one around....He started crossing the street when he heard what sounded like morse code coming from the middle of the intersection signalling SOS....Mason stopped and listened for a bit wondering if it were rats in the sewers making the racket when the same taps were being repeated...His instincts had kicked in at that point and decided to investigate...Upon arriving to the location of the tapped SOS he saw an open manhole with grunts and shrieks of pain....The man inside had obviously been stuck inside the dark hole for hours as there were no other construction crews around...."Hello!!! Construction worker trapped down here! Help!!!...I'm bleeding, My belt is caught on the...Lad..Der!...And I can't breathhh!!!" The man was hyperventilating and crying in fear while trying to call out for help)

Spectre wakes up to find a voice message on his phone. "Who would be calling me in on my day off?" Voice message plays. "Well, crap." Spectre said as he started to get his gear together. "Looks like I am calling in the Rescue box." Mase, if and when you get this, call me. I'm heading out to your position now. I'll have Rescue 24 dispatched. "No rest for the wicked." Spectre chuckled as he grabbed his keys and left. "I'm going to need coffee."

Echo was in Station 2 walking down the hall when he noticed chief clarks office door was wide open and the lights were on. "Huh, that's weird. I don't remember seeing him here today"
Echo walks in and notices clarks radio on his desk. Echo grabs the mic from his radio and switches the setting over to local. "EMS Medic Brian Echo to all personnel has anyone seen chief clark over?"
Echo then texts Spectre. "Hey, sorry I know it's your day off but do you know where mason is? He left his office door open and lights on. His radio is sitting flat on his desk"

Mason was still holding the garden hose making sure the construction worker was still breathing...."How you hanging in there!?"
The man takes a quick pause from the hose a brief moment to respond..."I'm still livin!...Bleeding has gotten worse tho!"
Mason starts thinking about the worst then makes a quick decision..."Buddy!? Listen, I'm gonna be right back okay? I'm gonna give you a temporary fix on that bleeding!"
He runs back in the hardware store and grabs a bottle of gorilla glue, a roof patch, and a pack of needle and thread and runs out and runs back to the manhole....Stuffing everything in his pockets he secures the garden hose to the top of ladder with duct tape, Then climbs down the ladder to the construction worker...
After Mason reaches him he climbs over the man to get right behind him..."I smell Whiskey....Where is it!?"
The man hesitates before replying..."Innn my..Utility belt left side...Watch it! My right side is cut open and bleeding badly!!!"
Mason grabs the right side of his shirt and rips it open so he can see the wound..."Ohhh good God..Spectre would kill me If knew what I'm doing right now!....Okay, Sir!? This is gonna hurt you quite a bit so I'm gonna need you to trust me on this here okay!? It will stop the bleeding for a while until the first responders arrive..."
The construction worker nods in approval to Clark then grits his teeth to be prepared...Mason takes the tiny bottle of Whiskey and pours the entire bottle over the mans side for sterilization....the mans starts to scream then cries..
Mason then throws the bottle down and takes the needle and some thread and starts stitching the open wound together...After he gets it closed he goes to stitch another two rows of thread to make sure it stays sealed...
After a few minutes of catching his own breath he takes the gorilla glue and squirts it all over the mans stitched wound then places the roof patch on the wound firmly and slaps it a couple times to secure it from falling off....Lastly Clark rips off a few pieces of duct tape and covers the roof patch...
"Alright, We're done here! Are you okay? And tell me what the heck were you doing down here to begin with!?"
The man replies...."I was, On break...And there were no places to drink so climbed down here so no one could see me...We stopped briefly to lunch from over an hour drive....We were on our way to a demolition site of a shut down firehouse near northern Aekea...I guess they forgot about me and left..."
Mason grits his teeth...."You are aware that this can get you in big trouble right!? Just as much trouble I can get into for performing illegal surgery..."
The man sighs..."Yes I know!....I'm sorry but it's a little too late for that...Grab my work radio...Front left jacket pocket..."
Mason grabs his radio and races back up top...A weak signal is found..."Attention, This an emergency broadcast from BHFD Chief 30, Code 34701...Can anyone hear me on this channel!? Over!?"

Durem Rescue 24 to Barton, we don't have the manpower for all the duties. We either do HAZMAT and Rescue, or Rescue and RIT. Can't do all of it. "Call type doesn't warrant the USAR rig, what a joke!" Spectre muttered under his breath. "Screw this, I'm calling for it." Durem Rescue 24 to Barton, special add USAR 33-42, we'll need the equipment on it.
