Texas nodded as he turned to follow Mirai. "Now is as good a time as any," he replied. "Think it will turn into a fight?"



Texas stared at the Haunted House, having to crane his neck upwards slightly due to his costume. He had had to run to keep up with her though that wasn't too surprising considering the circumstances. "This is your first Halloween, right?" He asked. Mirai certainly seemed a whole lot better since her training with the Seekers. Texas was glad to see her healthy and energetic. He had been worried for her since the Machinist incident and unsure about the whole Seeker deal, but it looked like it had paid off. "I guess that means you've never been in a haunted house before." He nodded when he heard her, the top of his costume flapping with his head. "Alright, alright let's go then," he told her as he took her by the hand, leading her to the front entrance.

Texas nodded as he turned to follow Mirai. "Now is as good a time as any," he replied. "Think it will turn into a fight?"



Texas briefly considered telling Miria they were real before realizing how spectacularly that might backfire if they went in. "No, it's all just for scares," he told her. "I've never seen you in a haunted house before. Do you scare easy?" He asked, a mischievous look on his face.

Texas nodded as he turned to follow Mirai. "Now is as good a time as any," he replied. "Think it will turn into a fight?"



"Dang," Texas replied good-naturedly. He walked into the haunted house with her. It was a little more realistic than the ones normal humans put on since witches and other beings with wavelengths were able to contribute to making some of the scares work with their magic. The entry room was fairly simple: a dark room with flashing strobe lights and a fog machine. Over a loud-speaker their host was telling them about some kind of curse that supposedly haunted this house from hundreds of years ago. Texas wasn't paying too much attention to that. He slipped Mirai's hand in his and gave her a grin. "If you get scared and cuddle against me, it's okay," he whispered to her with a sly grin while the loudspeaker was still going.

Texas looked over at Mirai as she let out the most unimpressed exclamation of surprise he'd ever heard and scooched slightly closer to him. "Come on," he told her with a smile. "Let's see some of that acting skill you used so well against The Neo-Machinists. It's Halloween, you can roleplay a little. Hmm...why don't you pretend to be a naive young lass dependent on her boyfriend for comfort and protection?"

Texas grinned as Mirai clung to him. "It's alright, I'll protect you," he promised her in as serious a voice as he could manage, though it seemed like he too was on the verge of laughing. "There's nothing here that I can't take on." He ruffled her hair gently with his free hand before giving her a kiss on the forehead. "This is gonna be an awesome haunted house," he added.

Texas grinned as Mirai pretended to be afraid of all the scares the haunted house had to offer. "It's alright, I'm here," he told her each time. Although they were both playing Texas still seemed to be genuinely enjoying it. He didn't seem too concerned when the next room took a moment to open. He walked in with her and looked around as he heard the door slam shut. He looked back quickly as he heard Mirai and noticed the webs, goop and spiders. "Wow, they did a really good jo-" he stopped as he watched Mirai suddenly scramble behind him with a distressed expression. She spoke so fast it took him a moment to understand what she had said. "Wow Mirai, you're definitely getting in character!" He complimented with a grin.

Texas watched her for a moment before it slowly dawned on him that she wasn't joking. He quickly re-balanced himself as she jumped onto his back. "Woah woah okay okay," he replied. There was no way back the way they came since the door was closed. Fortunately there was an easy way forward. His arm flashed and changed into a flamethrower. These were just magical props right? Whoever made them shouldn't be too upset about them getting incinerated. His flamethrower roared to life and bright flame rushed forward, washing over the spiders one by one as he strafed the room. The spiders each let out ungodly screeching noises as they caught fire and ran around the room. "Oh that is creepy," Texas admitted as he heard them. After several moments the spiders fell and burned, curling up and dark lumps almost beyond recognition. He looked back over his shoulder at Mirai, a grin on his face. "Heh, what do you think? Pretty handy huh?" He asked, holding up his flamethrower arm proudly.
