Each of you are to make a post rolling a 100 sided die. The highest roller will get to attack first, but also have to choose their one pokemon for the match first. Wait until both trainers have chosen a pokemon before attacking.
For example:
P1 rolls, gets 100
P2 rolls, gets 1
P1 sends out Zubat
P2 sends out Rattata
P1 has Zubat use Confuse Ray
And so on like a regular battle.

Alexa was his opponent here, not once in these tournaments had the fire trainer been able to beat him. Though he kind of did feel bad about beating her out every single tournament. Still he would try his best to win, if he didn't then his pokemon would never let him hear the end of it.

Alexa walked to her trainer box and looked over at her opponent. Once again she was facing Zakiax. She hasn't had any luck defeating him but surely that just meant she was past due. She had a good feeling about this gym leader tournament. After all there was such a small pool of entries. She flashed Zak a grin and pondered who she would use.

Well there was no point in delaying this battle. Alexa grabbed one of her pokeballs and threw it out. "Alright Stribog. Time to show them how much better you've become since last time!" She called out. The Altaria appeared in a flash of red and flew up high. He took in the ring and saw that he was the first one out. He flew lower and began to circle. 1150 HP

Seeing the Alteria come onto the field Zakiax decided to throw out Flora. Even though he wanted to test out his newer pokemon in this tournament, Flora was one of his most reliable pokemon.  1100hp Flora entered the field from her pokeball and furied her eyes at the flying type flying above her.

Alexa wasn't surprised to see Flora appear. It would make sense to use a water type against her and her fire pokemon. At least with Stribog they had a fighting chance. "Let's start Stribog!" Stribog circled around when he saw the Kingdra appear. Hearing his trainer call out he dove towards Flora. As he drew near he opened his beak. As Flora dodged the attack Zak called out her next move. "Flora counter with Ice Beam" Giving a soft trill the Kingdra gathered water with in her mouth and then shot it out as a frozen beam at the flying pokemon above. Alexa was bummed that the status inflicting attack failed. However it's not like it was the first time something like that had happened. "Go to attacking!" She called out. Stribog squawked when he was hit with the Ice Beam. He was grateful it didn't freeze and send him plummeting down. He flew up higher and circled around. Again Stribog was hit with the ice beam. He kept control of his ascent and it didn't freeze his wings. Circling he eyed the Kingdra and tried to figure out the best way to attack her. He dove down suddenly and just before he would have crashed into her, spread his wings wide stopping his descent. After his attack hit Stribog quickly flew up high. He would be able to see any incoming attacks and could easily avoid them. He proved that when Flora shot another ice beam at him and he simply tilted to the side and avoided it. Stribog came close to being hit with that ice beam. He flew up high and sighed in relief. That one seemed colder when it shot past him which surely would have froze him. Flora was hit with the dragonbreath and nearly was flung backwards but she held her ground. Once more she shot a beam of ice at the alteria aiming once more to freeze the flying types movements. [ Move Used in This Post: Ice Beam (Option 2)] [ Moves Used Thus Far: Ice Beam] [ HP: 500/1100]
